I appreciate good customer service and the staff in Timpsons have to be some of the most knowledgeable and friendly I've come across. The boots had no heals on and the very pale custard soles I had specifically stated I did not want were roughly glued in place. When I queried the colour the manager said 'We don't do brown ones'. S-funny, you did last week! My boots had gone into Timpsons with replacement brown soles on them from the last time they were mended, yet the manager tells me Timpsons, the largest name in the sector, can't source brown soles!!! How many brown boots/shoes are sold annually in Britain? Answer - Google says 'Millions'. How many custard-coloured shoes are sold annually in Britain? Answer - Google says 'None'!!! It is not often one needs these services regularly but when you do, Timpson is a quality place you can rely on because they have been used to delivering the best in the business since they were established in 1903. I have been to this particular branch in Maghull a couple of times before and experienced no problems whatsoever. I had a new pair of hard rubber soles attached and they have lasted me for years, which has increased the lifespan of my favourite shoes! The service is second to none.

The staff here are very friendly and helpful, They have real tradesmen working here who produce excellent work and take pride in what they do. The shoe repairs I have had done here have always been done quickly and have been inexpensive, especially considering the quality and time frame. They also have a large range of luggage, bags, purses, travel items, shoe related items and much more. This is a very useful shop and you can rely on them.

It has the archetypal red frontage and interior which is associated with the company with the various displays of what they do (i.e keys, engraving and a selection of pet tags ) besides the repairing of shoes. The staff are friendly and polite and always try and cater to your needs especially if you're in a hurry and whatever it is you ask them to do is always a job well done when you collect the finished item. Although there are probably cheaper independent places offering these services it's sometimes nice to go to a name that you recognise and is tried and tested.

When I asked how much it'd cost I was told whatever I wanted to pop in the charity tin. How lovely! They've done the same in the past too. This repairs shop seems to carry the customer service ethos of days gone by, which keeps me coming back. They do shoe repairs (re-heeling, gluing, re-soling.. for ladies heels if you get a pair re-soled you get the heels done for free), watch repairs, cut keys and make signs. They repair shoes to a high standard and I tend to take my delicate designer heels in here because I know I'll get them back in pristine condition. The shop sells shoe care products, insoles and key rings too. Most repairs can be done while you wait. The location is perfect for me as it's on my commute to work. A definite 5 stars from a loyal customer.

I've been meaning to visit Timpson for a few days now, and finally was able to visit today - My…read morefirst problem was with the store's opening hours as I find it closes far too early, 5 pm on weekends which is often the busiest time of the week for the Manchester Arndale is slightly disappointing, so I was pleased to call in at the start of the week. During the week it is open until 6 pm which I feel is a much nicer time and it would be good if it opened at least on a Saturday at this time too, with of course the UK government restricting Sunday Trading for all stores. This branch of Timpson is one of the main and larger stores out of the four stores they have in Manchester, in comparison to the "box store" on Deansgate, this store has more facilities including a working printer to take photo ID for passports etc as well as other tools. The store is located near one of the entrances to Manchester Arndale, between Subway and cool American candy and beverage retailer, Over The Rainbow. I called in here to get some keys cuts with an ongoing promotion where if you get one key cut for £6 you can add another one-half price, meaning it would be 2 for £9, an average of £4.50 isn't bad at all especially for a convenient city centre location, even though other retailers such as Homebase do offer the service slightly cheaper at £3.95 each or 3 for just under £10. The key I was given worked first time (they offer a very high guarantee which as I recall is 99%), it was a nice looking Timpson branded key too, and despite the store being quite busy, it was done quickly while I waited, so quick infact I wasn't able to get my Timpson vouchers out of my bag quick enough, which were kindly sent by head office after a bad experience at their Deansgate store (Once again i can confirm this wasn't in relation to writing a review of any sort) The staff around the store seemed really friendly and told me this was the main branch in Manchester if I needed anything, which is useful to know. It would have been nicer to see a better selection of keyrings than just coloured fobs to put them on, although the fobs were priced really cheap at three for a pound. Overall, a quick and good key cutting service at a competitive price, of course, they do other things as well with great service so a three-star rating is definitely warranted, with the main flaws of this store being - Poor selection of key-rings - Opening Hours - There isn't a huge amount of pricing on show and you often have to ask, which I don't really like.

We watched the guy do it and it turned out to be a really easy fix which I could of probably done myself! Don't feel like you have to say yes to their deals, on reflection I don't think I would come here again just because watch batteries can be changed easily and bought cheaply. Customer service was very quick and friendly however so cannot fault them for that.
