Came in to grab something to eat. I was the only one in line, one of the woman employees made eye contact with me but said nothing. No welcome, no what can I do for you? Nothing. I had to initiate a conversation with her and ask if she was ready. Because another employee was talking to her about something. Then when I ask her if she's ready, she reply's with, yes... like she was waiting on me. The service right off the bat was terrible. And I have to say the pita that I ordered was good, flavor was there, but $18? Way overpriced. If you get anything I would definitely consider a bowl, more worth the money. read more

Poor management. There has been a theme of no ice, no lemonade, running out of items for the bowl. Today, no pickled onions and no lemonade (again!). This happens on a regular basis. There were few people in the restaurant, and yet, the trash was overflowing and the drink station untidy. I was nearby so I stopped by CAVA for a quick meal and really enjoyed it. The food was fresh, tasted great, and the portions were good. The line moved pretty fast, and everything was made just the way I wanted it. Definitely a spot I'd come back to when I'm craving something healthy but still filling. I did not pay attention the the ambiance but the seats were a little dirty but other than that the place looked clean. Way better location than the one near town center. read more

I probably wouldn't have tried CAVA if not for feeling that I wasn't eating enough healthy food recently. I normally don't go for these types of places as I usually don't get filled up enough due to stingy portion sizes. That is not the case with CAVA, I ordered online since there was one 4 minutes away from my hotel and I didn't need to get stuck in going home traffic in the area. I ordered online through the Yelp link and kind of tried out the online ordering system with less than high hopes that I would get what I wanted. I was surprised that it was easy to order what I wanted and the resulting bowl was pretty heavy in portion size. It is also full of flavor as well. I go for the half chicken/roasted vegetables with half greens/grain. I really enjoy the black bean grains as it adds to the texture of the meal. The chicken is good and the dips and sauces are all really tasty. The store itself is so so. It looks like any make your own pizza, salad, bowl place with a slow down with customers choosing their ingredients. The floor was a little sticky as I think someone may have dropped a drink as there was a drink bar near the take out order areas. I usually order at my hotel and it's ready within a few minutes of my arrival so about ten minutes from online order to in my hands. I have been here twice and both times, there were a lot of customers so I believe they are very popular. This meal really fills me up and I feel good after eating my meals here. Take out | Dinner | $10-20 I have purchased food from here on many occasions but tonight my food is ice cold. I purchased the lamb what a waste of $$. It was cold, The rice was cold not really sure what was going on, but the attendant seems very distracted with people coming to visit. I'm assuming they either workday or I used to work there. I only live about five minutes away and my food should not be this cold like it is cold to the touch like rice, cold lamb. This by far is probably the worst experience I've had with CAVA and I have been eating from this location for several years now I'm really disappointed. They were pretty busy, but I didn't mind it since it gave me some time to choose what I wanted. I opted for the steak protein bowl over spinach. I chose grilled corn, tomato, and onion mix, pickled onions, and a generous amount of dressing. I noticed the portion size was much smaller than years ago. Can never go wrong with Cava. Tired of the 4th of July BBQ so needed something different. I rarely actually sit down and eat in there but it's always a nice atmosphere. Good food, good service - that's always a good start! I popped in here the other night to grab a healthy meal. I got the Greek Salad with a few modifications. I needed some extra veggies so I added them, and the char was just enough. I also had tahini Caesar and Greek vinaigrette on the side since I had a little drive before I'd eat. I didn't want my salad to be soggy. I added the roasted eggplant dip to the hummus and tzatziki that accompany this dish. The salad was super tasty. I think the Newport News restaurant spoiled me though; I was looking for my pita bread :-( I didn't need the bread! They have plenty of tables and seating options. Cava is definitely my go-to for delicious and quick Mediterranean food. It's convenient and healthy and has flavorful options. This location is always pretty packed. They need to do some more proactive methods around having enough meat at any given time. With how many people flow through here per day, I am usually surprised when there is a wait for meat, rice, etc. I wish they would double-wrap the pitas when they are to-go! They are extremely messy when you get sauces intermixed with everything. Please consider a different containment method for pitas. This would go a long way! I have always loved Cava for its flavors and fresh ingredients. It's kind of like a Chipotle, but better. This is a Mediterranean style restaurant. Honestly, whatever you order is going to be delicious. A few of my favorite things are their homemade pita bread, any choice of meat/protein and their hummus! This location was very large and clean. Luckily when I went at 11AM on a Friday morning, there weren't many people so it was pretty quiet. The few people that were there quietly sat and did their thing. The staff was very patient when my group and I were making up our minds on what to order. The portions at this location are also great. And this location has many, many selections of their lemonades/drinks that took me a while to decide! I ended up going with the strawberry lemonade choice, but any drink you choose here is also going to be super fresh and delicious. This time I ordered half brown rice, half grains, chicken and vegetables for the protein (picking 2 was an extra charge), tomatoes, cucumbers, hummus, tzatziki, feta cheese, and the lemon chicken sauce. It ended up being $15.57 and then I noticed the drinks around the corner, so I paid an additional $3.36. It's a bit pricey, but for the quality of food and a treat once in a while I think it's worth it. I did not use the restroom because I was just passing through, but I have no doubt it would have been just as clean as everything else. I love the all of the hummuses but went with the traditional, harissa, and eggplant. The best part is that the toppings are unlimited. I basically got them all. I did get the dressings on the side. Back to the service, the water dispenser is broken, so the server helped me to get the water out which is great. She didn't want the water to splash on me which I appreciate. Honestly, food is always on point. Never an issue there. Harissa chicken, need I say more. Employees? Yeah they leave a lot to be desired. They're rude, and can't be bothered. Their answer to figuring out why we're waiting 20 minutes *past* our pick up time with a screaming baby in the car, is that there was a "glitch in the system", but that the food will be ready very soon. (Surprise, it wasn't). Honestly, 35 minutes from when we placed the order, I just wanted to go home. Because we ordered through the app, we couldn't just get a refund and go home. Dropped by Cava for a lunch. I was greeted when i entered and the staff was nice. The restaurant was clean inside. There was a slight line but it was moving quickly. I decided to try the lamb meatballs with corn, spinach, lentils, cucumber and tomatoes, feta cheese, crazy feta, tzatziki, garlic sauce, and a side of pita chips... I got extra dip which is $.95 per cup. The bowl had alot of sauce, which don't get me wrong I'm a sauce boss. But the ratio to what was in my bowl made it soggy. The food was soggy and the cardboard bowl was to by the time i got home. So maybe asking for sauce on the side is best if you're not eating it right away. The meatballs were very pinkish red, so i called to make sure they weren't raw. The person i spoke with assured me they only look that way because they put harrisa into the meatballs. But i was confused because 3 meatballs looked raw and one looked brown which is how I'd expect a meatball to look. Since they weren't all the same i just ate the one that looked done and threw the others away. Besides that the bowl was just ok. It was just to wet. I absolutely LOVE Cava! Our family has had several experiences here via app ordering and curbside pickup. Cava occupies the former Zoe's spot off Eden Way behind the Target shopping center. They have a couple of spots dedicated to online orders for curbside pickup, which is so nice. We've ordered 3 times now and each time the person coming to the car was super kind and, of course, wearing a mask. What I love the most about Cava is that, for each entree - grain bowl, salad, pita - they offer unlimited toppings. Spreads and dips are limited but you still get 3 (woah!). I've tried both the grilled chicken and harissa honey chicken. Both are so flavorful! Hubby has tried the lamb as well with rave reviews. The portions have been excellent as well. There's usually enough for me to make a 2nd meal of the leftovers, so the value is really good for the price. Glad to see they've replaced Zoe's with something I like even more! food is always fresh and seasoned well, my definite go-to for a post-workout meal. can't go wrong with a greens and grains combo w/ chicken as a main protein. add whatever mediterranean veggies and dressing you like plus the pita for a good crunch. it's an excellent meal! the people behind the counter, i cannot forget about them. they're not stingy with the servings, but nor are they giving a surplus amount. so overall they're fair. the restaurant in itself is actually very clean and welcoming. from tables seating one person to a fair group of students or a small family. everyone is there having a great time with great food! my only recommendation, get there before the food runs out, typically an hour before they close. read more
