Super fresh ingredients but just expensive. (I would minus one star for the cost though...) Food quality and flavors -- 5 stars! I tried the kid's meal (mini version of build your own bowl, pita chips or pita, and milk or juice), since I didn't want to eat too much, but the portion was super tiny like it was for little little kids. Over $9 including tax. There are a lot of options of toppings and sauces to choose from, but there are limited toppings (limit 2) to add since it is a kid's meal. I got pita bread, brown rice as my base, tzatziki dip (good!), grilled chicken, two toppings (tomato + onion and sumac slaw), and garlic dressing. I loved everything that I got! The cucumber mint lime drink was surprisingly good! I don't usually like mint, but it wasn't overpowering. All the flavors balanced out every well. The interior is very nice and spacious. Lots of seatings. Service was good. Parking was easy too. Came before 12, right before the busy lunch hour, so I didn't have to wait too long. Line got really long when I was leaving though. Would come back to try the regular build your own bowl option. read more

Good option for Mediterranean food. First time visiting Cava and we were actually impressed with the concept. You can choose their pre-set menu of wraps or bowels or you can make your own, choosing your base (rice and/or veggies) and your protein as well as choice of toppings. We got the Garlicky Shawarma chicken bowel and the Falafel Crunch Bowel. We liked how healthy the falafel crunch bowel was as well as the flavors. The Shawarma was good as well with every bite being a little different because of the various toppings. Only complaint would be that the Falafel Crunch Bowel only comes with 2 falafel balls. We also enjoyed the variety of drinks. We tried the pineapple apple mint and the cucumber mint. They were both refreshing and not too sweet. We went on a Saturday late afternoon and there was a steady stream of customers. What I did notice was that some of the people who ordered ahead had to wait for their food. Cava is my go to! I had no idea Norwalk had a location, but I was commuting from the South Bay and decided to stop because I was starving. There was no line (which honestly surprised me), but I wasn't complaining. The restaurant was clean, service was friendly, and everything looked fresh and fully stocked. Cava, I'd be honest. I love everything you have here but you're just too damn expensive. But I digress, I cheat the system and always come to your soft openings and eat for free. So maybe you will actually see me here all the time. Just make sure you have enough Harrissa chips and my Harissa avocado bowl available. I didn't try it in your location, but every other location I've been to the steak is just too tough. I do also like your roasted eggplant, I think it's a must for any bowl. I hope your CEO and investing in food automation will help crank out delicious bites. But with what we've got the other day, it was delicious as it is. This location really missed the mark. The workers didn't engage at all -- no smiles, no greeting, and they looked like they didn't want to be there. Service was extremely slow; I waited in line for over 20 minutes, which makes no sense when everything is already prepped and sitting in containers. My daughter ordered a steak and harissa bowl with no slaw, tomatoes, or onions. The employee still added slaw, then tried to scoop it out, but there was still plenty mixed in when my daughter started eating. The food was still tasty and flavorful, but portions have definitely gotten smaller since my last visit. My daughter even said, "Where's the rest of my food?" Her bowl wasn't even half full. For the price you pay, that's disappointing -- at least fill the bowl or use smaller containers so it's not so noticeable. I came into this location today around lunch time and it was such an uncomfortable experience. There was a line of cava workers on the other side trying to power through the the line . The first guy at the register I'm guessing was the boss was so hostile to his employees . He told the girl next to him in front of everyone " was their extra protein " in such an angry voice and she talked very low back not sure what happened but then he goes on a rampage about how nothing is free . Starts telling her move down he needs someone who knows what they're doing . The way he be littled her for a simple misunderstanding was terrifying. Poor girl looked so young with glasses I can tell she was new and trying not to cry. He then moves her to the end to just scoop the protein to the bowl and then yells again he wants her back where she was to watch the other girl do it correctly. He kept yelling " communication " like a very aggressive bully . I'm sorry half of those workers were younger and that type of "training " was so sad to see . I would think cava would want to train workers with respect . This could be some of their first time jobs and that's disgusting to treat them like that . I do hope he sees this review and thinks again when talking to people like they are nothing . I left cava with such a horrible feeling in my chest because all those employees looked so extremely stressed and when I was there on Monday it was totally opposite the employees were so kind and sweet . I understand bosses need to be bosses but there's a time and place to talk to your employees about doing something wrong . Please feel free to reach out to me so I know this is looked into . Food tastes good, as always. I've been to this new Norwalk location over 3 times since they opened. Each time I noticed my portions are a lot smaller than other locations (see photos attached for comparison). Each time, the customer service is a little rough, but let's give them grace because they just opened a few weeks ago. I can tell they're very flustered and deal with lots of rude customers. The employees seem to be running very low on patience and could be a lot nicer. I don't think they realize we can see them rolling their eyes and sighing. The girl up on the front on sauces/dressings, with glasses- shes given me a bit of attitude more than once now :( I'm hoping once the chaos dies down, they could be a little nicer because I truly go out of my way to not be a rude customer only to be met with less than great customer service every single time. read more

Cashier girl with glasses thinks that handing out fountain drink cups will be coming out of her pocket. Came in 3/29 @ 8:30 pm and encountered her stinginess. After spending over $60 on food AND another $4 on a fountain drink, we asked for a water cup. She proceeds with they don't have any water cups but will charge me an additional price for a fountain drink cup. She held it in her hand and hesitated giving it to us. Averie, a worker in this location, had such a nasty attitude towards my friends and I. Please keep in mind there was not even a rush going on. We were very polite and cordial. She was banging the trays around when swapping the hummus or salad. SHE WOULD SCOOP WITH HER HANDS instead of the utensils to serve us the salad. When I corrected her that one of the plates did not have any hummus but she accidentally put some on the wrong bowl, she scooped the hummus WITH HER HANDS out of the bowl and was ready to pour more rice over it. Very disgusting and a HUGE cross contamination factor all around. I asked her kindly to throw that plate away and restart. Not sure what day she was having, but as a food safety matter she needs to retake some lessons and have a convo with the manager. This is the worst cava location in southern California. Period. Bri is not helpful, i asked to cancel my mobile order because i needed to leave and she wouldn't allow me to cancel the order. I literally explained i had been waiting for 20 minutes and needed to leave to pick someone up and she would not cancel the order. Everytime I come the proportions are way smaller than the long beach & Whittier locations. As I'm typing this my kids meal has been sitting fully prepared for 16 minutes while they make other meals. I'm not sure why, Bri said its waiting for the dressing (which I requested on the side so I'm not sure why its sitting there.) The experience here is always bad. Id rather drive an extra 15 minutes to get customer service that is helpful. Edited to add: after getting my meal and being assured its correct, they didnt add any toppings to the pita. "Terrible service, careless staff, and zero respect for customers." This Norwalk location has only been open a few weeks. I started coming here about a week and a half ago, and in that short time I've already been here multiple times--this was my fourth visit. Unfortunately, it was by far the worst experience I've had. It started when I ordered a kids plate for my daughter. She always orders steak, but today they were out. I was told it would take 10-15 minutes. Annoying, but I let it go. Then, when I tried to order roasted vegetables for myself (the only thing I come here for as a vegan), I was told they were out of those too and it would be another 10 minutes. To make it worse, an employee tried to tell me the vegetables had to be "cut up." That's just not true--CAVA vegetables come pre-cut in bags and only need to be cooked. As a regular, I know this. Being lied to is insulting. Next, when I asked for pickled onions, I was told they were out. Yet I could clearly see plenty of them sitting in the to-go order section. The employee refused to get them, saying they "weren't allowed" to go over there. Only after I firmly insisted did she finally bring them over--reluctantly. That's not service, that's attitude. And when I asked for one extra scoop of vegetables, they charged me as if I ordered a full portion. Completely unreasonable. The final straw came just a few feet outside the restaurant. I opened my bag in the car and saw that the dressing container had been tossed in without the lid closed. The entire thing had spilled all over my food and the bag. At that point, I was so frustrated I didn't even want to walk back inside. That level of carelessness shows exactly how little the staff and management value their customers. In addition to this brand-new location, I have patronized the Whittier and Manhattan Beach CAVA locations literally hundreds of times over the years--I've lost count of how many times I've supported this company. I go to CAVA so often it's part of my routine. So now, to finally have one open close to my home and be met with this type of service, dishonesty, and lack of care is truly disheartening. This location is brand new, and yet in only a week and a half of visiting multiple times, I've already seen them run out of key items, lie to customers, mishandle orders, overcharge, and treat regulars with no respect. Management clearly isn't paying attention, and the staff has no pride in their work. As someone who has supported this place since it opened, I am deeply disappointed. Previous ppl complained about portions, they are right. Other cavas they fill it to the top. Friend went first and she asked for a lil extra rice and the employee put a tiny bit more. When it was my turn I asked for a lil more rice and she said she would have to charge me. I said you didn't tell her that. Employee replied it's cause I gave her a lil more only, I said thats what I asked for too. She added a few more rice grains. Same thing with the sauce since she was too lazy to change the empty container, I asked the next employee if I please can get more since it ran out when she was putting it on my bowl. Visited Cava for the first time ever today! Went for lunch after a workout class with my girlfriends and was so glad we chose to come here. I tried the Garlicky Chicken Shawarma bowl, and it was delicious and very fresh. I also ordered the pita chips, and they were very good. Everything was so good, I decided to get another bowl to take home as there is no Cava location near me. Also tried the Jasmine Green Tea and Cucumber Mint Lemonade, which were refreshing. Decent sitting area in and outside, and clean bathrooms. Location is in a shopping plaza with ample parking. Great customer service, was helped by Bri, Stephanie, Ruby, Evelyn, and one more person who I was unable to get the name of. Bad customer service from Aimee. Went to get a bowl today and asked for dressing on the side Cashier Aimee went to grab plastic containers to put them in. Once she filled the plastic up with dressing she put them inside my bowl . I asked her to please take them out, she did but I noticed the plastic containers were full of food so I asked her to please wipe them as they got dirty and had food on it. She then proceeds to tell me that's what they're doing now so next time they're not going to take out the dressing for me. I told her if I may speak to the manager because they extremely gross and unsanitary. She caught and attitude said manager wasn't there and was pretty rude along with her female coworker.
