Looked good but can this chef cook a steak? I think not
Bob I.

Seemed like a good choice for Sunday supper. When I go to a steakhouse I expect the best. Dinner for 5 can range from $350 and up. We made reservations earlier in the day. As soon as we arrived we were seated. During drink selection waitress informed us to pick a second choice due to zero inventory on all sorts of drink menu items. She was right. We came for the rockie mountain oysters, low and behold they were out. Major disappointment. Dinner selection same "let me check to see if we have that. We asked for A-1 she said let me see if we have any. She brought out the last bottle. It had maybe an inch of sauce in it(this is a steakhouse) I ordered my ribeye medium well. Came out half raw and the other half medium rare. She asked to take it back. My feeling is if it has to go back to the kitchen I'm dining at the wrong place. I didn't eat another bite. Very sad since I really had high hopes after all we're in cattle country. My advice to you chef is watch a couple YouTube videos or go back to the ranch

Busy place on a Sunday night, we weren't in a hurry and had a wonderful evening. Our server was gracious and efficent even though very busy. I will always prefer a local steakhouse with history and character to a boring chain steakhouse. We loved all the pictures, taxidermy, the rocky mountain oysters & especially the bread pudding.

It was getting to be dinner time while we were driving through Laramie so we looked at local restaurants and noticed Cavalryman Steakhouse was on our route, so we stopped. It is a very large place with a large parking lot. We both decided to try their famous 12 oz Ribeye and I will say it was one of the best steaks I have had in a few years. The Wyoming Soda Bread was also good as were the two salads we had, a Apple, Candied Nut and Goat Cheese Salad and a normal Dinner Salad. The service was good. We would definately stop again if we were around for dinner.

Excellent service and great food. This old west place is keeping up with the times by offering great salads.

I quite like the $10.00 Wednesday night UW special prime rib sliders. And great lounge service too.

We came to Sweet Melissa on a weekday night and sat outside with our 2 pups! Our server was…read moreliterally the best- he was so kind, funny, and very attentive to us and our dogs. He brought us a water bowl for the dogs, and he gave us a ton of recommendations on the menu as well. For our meal, we started with the dolma and kimchi pancake. The dolma was great, but the star here was the kimchi pancake! It was crispy, flavorful with the dipping sauce, and so delicious I wish we ordered 2. For our entrees, I had the General Tso's cauliflower which was the best fried cauliflower I've ever had. They were sooo extremely crispy and very flavorful! You can't go wrong with these or the cauliflower wings. The sauce on this was a tad spicier than I normally like that day, but that did not bother me given how delicious the dish was. My partner got the lettuce wraps which had a yummy tofu scramble that we also really enjoyed. Overall, I love the concept of comfort vegetarian food that Sweet Melissa offers, and I am so glad we stopped by here. The portion sizes are great, and I forgot to mention the great cocktails we had too! I would definitely come back if I'm in town again.

I was visiting Laramie with my husband and our two dogs this past weekend. We're both vegan, and we…read morewere thrilled to find the vegetarian cafe Sweet Melissa. Since we had our dogs, we sat on the patio. Any other day, we wouldn't have done this - it was nearly 90* outside without a single cloud in sight - but our car was in the repair shop and we didn't have another option. We made a note to order and eat as fast as we could. We had our drink orders taken, and the server brought our dogs out a fresh bowl of water. We were waiting for a long time to get our drinks, and even longer to order our food. There was a sliver of shade that our dogs were able to lay under, but us humans were absolutely roasting. After waiting for 20 minutes to order our lunch, I actually went inside to order myself. We spent another 20 minutes waiting for our food to come out, our drinks nearly hot from the sun. When our food came out, the server apologized for the lack of shade and mentioned that Sweet Melissa does have shades, but they don't stand up against the wind, so they take them down. (That's not particularly useful information.) The food? Absolutely incredible. At this point, we had spend double the time we wanted here so we scarfed down our food and cashed out. I would have rather been warned about the patio and suggested ordering something to-go over being told (after an hour) that they know there's an issue with the patio being exposed in direct sunlight during the middle of the day. I want to say that it was worth it, but our service and experience really disappointed me.
