What did we think about year 1 at Union!?!?!…read more After surviving another year of elementary school for two kids (our first year at this school) I would say we were overall very pleased. 1. Safety First! They have a tremendous school resource officer program with at least two officers on campus - they use screening and detection methods for entrance to school - the campus is well monitored with cameras and closed access points - they are friendly but also watch closely and monitor the facilities and surroundings. 2. Academics are sound - it is a Christian School, so the biblical and Christian education aspect is well represented. They do a great job of staying "mainline" to the general tenets of Christian faith that are well received and practiced by most Protestant believers and don't get off the platform in funky/argumentative/uncomfortable doctrinal ways. They seem to create their own curriculum instead of using Abeka or other programs, which is fine, though sometimes this results in study materials and resources that are not always polished in appearance. 3. The classroom academics seem sound and the teachers are easy to work with. The school uses a variety of curriculum resources by subject and the school uses an app for parent/teacher/school communication and grading, etc. it all works well and is convenient - there are some bugs from time to time but nothing major or upsetting - more like preferences or quirks of the software. 4. School Activities - Students are offered lots of options - sports and athletics which compete in the Arkansas Activities Assn class AA. They offer music and theater and art, as well as academic competition style clubs and groups. We've been very pleased - especially for the variety at a smaller sized school. 5. They have small class sizes of about 15 kids per elementary class (a plus for our perspective); they have a nice playground area and nice classroom spaces; they offer a playground; they have a nice cafeteria and meal service offered each week. They also have an after school program and a summer program. We look forward to continuing education here and recommend the school without reservation.

The Principal, all the teachers, and all the staff are all wonderful! They even have music class and Spanish class for the preschoolers which we thought were really great options. It is really an amazing school to send your kids to.

I loved my high school years but I wouldnt want them back. I went through different principals and teachers come and go for good and not so good reasons. This school is very updated and has a wonderful band (I was in it). They have been first in the state for 7 consecutive years. Overall I am more neutral on my rating than anything. Not good not bad, I must say that they are improving though.

The principal when I was there was rude and snobby. I remember her blowing my mom off at one point. My mom being the strong headed person she is didnt have anything nice to say to her about it. lol Things probably have changed since I have been here though. I would send my child here. The teachers (I had anyways) were dedicated and worked with the students.
