She was suffering tremendously; could not eat, vomiting and in excruciating pain for 2 years with several misdiagnoses. We had no choice but to seek help internationally. Right from the start we were blown away by the professionalism demonstrated by the MTY Bariatrics team. From Luis booking our FaceTime consults to our calls with Dr. Garcia and Dr. Ruben. Upon our first call with Dr. Garcia, I knew we had found a match and I had full trust that Dr. Garcia would be able to help my 17-year-old ailing daughter. The next 2 calls with Dr. Ruben further solidified our decision-making process and within a few days we booked our trip to Monterrey, Mexico. Everything was organized for us; my daughter's tests and a driver to take us to all the appointments. Within 24 hours of our arrival, Dr. Ruben diagnosed my daughter with a very large hiatal hernia. We were over the moon with relief that we FINALLY HAD A DIAGNOSIS after 2 years of heartache!!!!! :) Something they could not diagnose with several endoscopies in Canada. On the Monday morning at 4am my daughter started vomiting and was crying in pain, being in a new city, I had no idea what to do, so I called Luis. Within 10 minutes Luis was at our condo picking us up to take us to the ER where he stayed with us to make sure everything was ok, and my daughter was settled. She was admitted and Dr. Garcia booked the Nissen Fundoplication surgery for that evening. He explained everything to us in great detail, reassured us we had nothing to worry about and he would treat my daughter like his own. They also moved up the surgery to avoid us having to pay an extra night at the hospital which I thought was very generous of them! The surgery went well, my daughter was discharged 2 days later and continues to make an amazing recovery. The aftercare was just as impressive; with several follow up appointments, nutritionist appointments and just know I could call them anytime I needed was very comforting. I feel like they were angels sent from heaven to help my poor daughter. We are back in Canada where my daughter is eating and in no pain for the first time in two years! Last but not least, Dr. Garcia DID treat my daughter like his own and I trust this team with our lives. Best decision we ever made was trusting MTY Bariatrics with my daughter's care. We have our daughter back, and more importantly, she has her life back!
