We had an incredible wine tasting experience at Caymus Vineyards! The beautiful setting, welcoming atmosphere, and exceptional wines made our visit truly memorable. Our wine expert, Ezekiel "EZ," was the highlight of the experience--knowledgeable, personable, very funny, and genuinely passionate about the wines and vines. He made the tasting both informative and relaxed, answering all of our questions and guiding us through each pour without ever making us feel rushed. EZ's warm hospitality elevated the entire visit and made us feel welcome. We highly recommend visiting Caymus Vineyards and asking for EZ--you'll be in excellent hands!

An absolute gem of a winery--graceful, inviting, and memorable in all the right ways. The path from the parking lot to the entrance feels like a quiet prelude to relaxation, lined with lounge chairs tucked beneath charming, roofed garden alcoves. Each shaded nook invites you to pause, unwind, and take in the surrounding greenery before stepping inside. Our group of six adults and one very content 10-month-old (we called ahead to be sure he was welcome)--settled in effortlessly and were rewarded with an experience that felt both relaxed and refined. We chose the veranda, where the view opened onto a lush garden alive with movement. Between sips, we caught glimpses of hummingbirds darting like jewels, butterflies drifting lazily, and even the occasional chipmunk making a curious appearance. Our hostess guided us through the $50 tasting with warmth and expertise, bringing each of the five wines to life with just the right balance of knowledge and ease. Every pour impressed--distinct, expressive, and genuinely enjoyable. And the thoughtful touch of applying the tasting fee toward bottle purchases? That sealed the deal. Each couple left with at least two bottles in hand--a testament to both the quality of the wine and the smart, guest-friendly approach. Inside, a wall of glass reveals rows upon rows of barrels stretching into the distance, a quiet reminder of the craftsmanship behind every glass. You can wander through this space via the gift shop, adding another layer to the experience. A place that manages to feel both elevated and welcoming--I'd return without hesitation. I highly recommend this winery.

Great grounds and vineyards. Huge. open tasting space were they store there barrels for display. Clean, open space. Our tasting was great and our server was awesome (sorry, too much wine to remember his name. Dylan, Derek, or something D?! :-) Great assortment to taste from. A definite must when in the valley.

I am so happy I decided to book a reservation at Caymus Vineyards. I have tried their wines back home and so when looking for where to go in Napa, I decided on this location. As with all the vineyards, the scenery is beautiful. However, this location also has an elevated elegance, which was just a beautiful way to spend an afternoon. Our server was amazing as she explained the history behind the location and the family who created the wines. All of the wines were absolutely delicious. This was one of the few places that I actually took a bottle home from. The barrel room is beautiful. We sat outside and the ambience was just amazing. Definitely recommend this is one of your stops when visiting Napa.

Spent a beautiful morning at Caymus for tasting. Michel was our guide and was so knowledgeable and kind. We are not wine connoisseurs, but he explained the history and each wine so well. Beautiful and clean venue.

We went to Caymus on our honeymoon and they were so sweet to us...they offered us a free bottle of champagne. It was so kind and we had a great time!

We stopped by Caymus Vineyards in Rutherford after visiting their Suisun location and were really glad we did! The property is absolutely beautiful. There's plenty of parking and both indoor and outdoor tasting areas, which gives you some nice flexibility depending on the weather. We didn't have a reservation, but that wasn't an issue. We went to the bar area, ordered a couple of glasses and found a cozy spot inside to enjoy them. The pours were generous, and the wine was delicious. It's a great option if you're just passing through and want to take in the grounds without committing to a full tasting. Bonus points for the free water available--it's a small touch, but appreciated. I'm definitely planning to come back for a full tasting experience next time. Highly recommend stopping by, even just for a glass!

Review for Caymus - Rutherford Location I'm still in disbelief at how disappointing our experience was at this location. Our original reservation was for the Suisun location, but due to a fire there, our tasting was moved to Rutherford. We didn't anticipate how much farther this drive would be compared to Suisun City, which forced us to rearrange our entire day -- including our other vineyard tastings and lunch plans -- to the Rutherford/St. Helena area. On top of that, heavy traffic and an accident caused a 30-minute delay. Out of courtesy, I called ahead to let them know, and the woman I spoke to assured me it would be fine and that our tasting would simply be shortened. I appreciated that understanding -- until we arrived. Upon walking in (yes, 30 minutes late as discussed), the hostess coldly informed us that our reservation had been cancelled. She showed zero empathy, didn't care what I explained, and offered no alternatives. She simply said, "Sorry, too bad," and suggested we go buy wine at the bar instead. At a place like Caymus, I expected at least an attempt to accommodate us or reschedule. The dismissiveness was one of the worst customer service experiences I've had at a winery. The only reason I'm leaving two stars instead of one is for the bartender, who treated us kindly and with respect. Otherwise, we would never consider returning to this location, nor would we recommend it to others. Extremely disappointing.

Lots of people visiting the showroom on a Saturday, even in mid January. No appts available same day for a tour but the bar was open. Sat down and tried a sparkling wine. Light and tasty. Don't expect the bartender to know the answers to your wine tour questions but he will pour you all the splashes you want before committing to a full glass.

The property is gorgeous and so well taken care of. The outdoor tasting area is super peaceful and a great place to just relax and enjoy the view. Elizabeth gave us an amazing wine tasting experience. She really knows her stuff and was so fun to talk to - friendly, down-to-earth, and full of great info about the wines. It felt like we were just hanging out with a friend who happens to be a wine expert. The Emmolo Sauvignon Blanc was definitely my favorite. It is crisp, refreshing, and so easy to drink. Highly recommend stopping by if you're looking for great wine in a beautiful setting with awesome people

Such a fun spot to pop in for wine by the glass! We wanted just to stop in for a few minutes until our next tasting reservation. Everyone was so friendly and nice, we got our glasses at the bar and walked amongst the barrels. The seatings for the tastings were amongst the barrels and cannot wait to come back and do a full tasting experience.

Took my extended family here for a wine tasting and our sommelier Steve was great! He gave us some background stories on the Wagner family and the different wines. My mom bought a case and we did too. Everyone truly enjoyed the experience and can't wait to be back. Loved that that our wine fees were waived due to us coming there for a special occasion and also because we bought wines.

Such a wonderful experience. I made reservations in advance for a party of 18. Everything was handled wonderfully. We had outdoor seating in a private corner outside. We enjoyed the wines that were served and half of my group ended up making purchases. Our host even gave us an extra pout because it was my sister's birthday. The only thing that would make the experience better was if they were licensed to serve light food. Even just cheese and crackers would be great. But I understand that's not part of every winery's business model. Overall a great experience.

Do you need to have a reservation to buy wine by the glass?

No, you do not need a reservation to enjoy a glass of wine. Our wines by the glass are available every day from 9:30 to 4:30.

Do they offer any appetizers to purchase along with the wine tastings? If not do they allow you to bring charcuterie?

As far as I'm aware they only have the one tasting at a bargain price of $50. I have never seen a charcuterie board being available. It really would be fun if they would have a reserve library tasting with food as an add on purchase.

Since my friend and I are doing multiple vineyards. Is it possible we share tastings?

I imagine they would let you, almost all the wineries I've been too they will let you share.

    How long is the tasting?

The normal tasting time is around 1hr from start to finish. It is pricey wine as stated by others. But if you are looking for one of the valley's best Cabs this is a place you. Also when going to Caymus I would plan on taking my time, the…

How much are bottles of wine?

The bottles of wine wont be any cheaper than if you were to buy them from a liquor store.

I am a white wine connoisseur because of my dietary restrictions with most ingredients in red wines, especially cherries and plum, that trigger my stomach pain and headaches. I have missed enjoying red wine because of this. I was hoping and praying that when my friends who are members of PEJU planned this wine tasting treat, that my stomach and head would be fine and to my surprise, my palate, tongue, stomach and heart were pleased with the Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Fifty/Fifty, and more, including reserve reds Todd served and educated us about! I appreciate the PEJU staff and management team who welcomed us and were kind to us all the way to the end of our wine tasting experience when we left. This is the kind of treatment that makes us want to return. Napa is a special place for friends, family, and me, and PEJU is now an indelible memory in my Napa adventures! Todd clearly enjoys his important professional position, is passionate about wine and the wine experience, and brings so much joy to customers! I can't recommend him and PEJU enough! They've only been there for a year I believe, but from the outside to the inside, everything is purposely selected and placed. And the bathroom! Yes you read that right, the bathroom is impressive. Probably what stuck out to me the most was the wine glasses used for the flight tasting. These glasses are exquisite. While I don't remember the exact dollar figure, they use German glassware that was 100 a pop, and each glass was selected based on enhancing which wine was being tasted. The first glass on the left was what we started with, which was a white, and as you go toward the right you transition into the bulbous fishbowl type glassware typically used to drink reds. The flight tasting was 75 which is pricey, and their flagship red is quite expensive in my opinion. However, you like what you like and if you enjoy it then it's meant for you.
