I had a disappointing experience at CDC Computers on Thursday, Sept. 4th. I have been to CDC Computers a handful of times to have my laptops repaired and never had an issue. I was always treated with respect and kindness and the front office staff knew their business. On Thursday I took my laptop in for repairs again but this time a new staff person to me, took one look at it and said it would cost 1/3 the cost of a new laptop. I was not surprised by this and was half expecting it but I was not expecting the way he railroaded me into buying a new laptop from CDC Computers. He whipped across the building and came back with a laptop and told me this is the one I needed. He talked non-stop and would not let me get a word in edgewise. He talked about everything but the laptop. How the business is moving to a new location in the next few months, how they've been having staffing problems, how they are barely making enough money to stay in business, etc. I did ask him if this was a brand new Windows 11 laptop or was it a refurbished laptop. He answered a telephone call and gave a staff person instructions. I did not receive an answer. I asked him what the memory capacity was, he said he "thought it was 550 gigs". Why didn't he find out for certain? I realize it was my fault for falling for his railroading and speed talking, and believe me I am having buyers regret. I have no one to blame but myself and I own that. This is so disappointing. When I took my laptops in before for repairs the young men working at the front were wonderful. They explained what needed to be done and gave me an approximate time and $ amount. Daniel, was totally opposite. He could learn a LOT from his co-workers. Better yet, let the other staff deal with the public and he should stay in his office. Would I take my laptop to CDC Computers for repairs again - yes. Will I buy anything brand new from CDC Computers again - not a hope in Hell. read more

He is very knowledgeable and always presents various options very well but will suggest what he would recommend as the best solution for your needs. After our bank acct. was hacked my wife and I took our computers to CDC to see if they were infected. The tech. (sorry, I didn't get his name) was thorough and gave us back our piece of mind. He also removed some crap that I wasn't aware of and gave me some helpful tips. A very worthwhile visit. read more

My Word program of 2007 Office froze on my computer. I took it to CDC and I sat and listened to Daniel as he worked to fix it. He took the time to explain what he was doing and after checking he found it overloaded with unneeded virus protection. As well my hard drive was over whelmed with all the extra junk I had downloaded and wasn't using. He installed a modern hard drive, reloaded my files and deleted unneeded junk. It now works faster than before at a reasonable price. CDC is now my go to computer repair shop. For a courteous friendly experience dealing with computer issues you don't understand CDC Computers is the place to go. Thanks Daniel. read more

I have had two occasions within the last year where I required computer services and repairs. My first experience was very positive so when I encountered a 2nd problem I returned to CDC Computers. I don't believe that I could have gotten better service anywhere on both occasions. I found CDC Computers staff to be very fast, knowledgeable, courteous, and honest. Daniel and Cameron were excellent on all fronts. It is rare that I do reviews anywhere , but felt CDC Computers truly earned one from me, so I give them 5 stars. Reviewed made after months of my retrieval. Came to have my Macbook battery replaced. Has Friendly staff and a clean business. However that's the only good thing I can say about this place. Although my Macbook battery was replaced, it took them about 2 months to "replace" it. I have phoned numerous times regarding a follow-up on my battery replacement and always gave me a work around. One of the excuses were that they had ordered the wrong battery. Failed to contact me because my phone number was wrong, although I had left them my email as well. (I have called them multiple times, even with caller-ID) Upon receiving my Macbook after two months, I noticed Macbook was in a bit more rough condition than it was: - The rubber surrounding the screen near the touch pad looks like someone tried to peel it off - The keyboard lights are completely disabled - One of the screws on the bottom of the Mac isn't flushed, making it protrude and scrape my desk (Cannot screw in further) I did SMC/Nvram Resets, checked my system preferences on my backlit keyboard lights, but no avail to turning them back on. I'm only writing this review now because I wanted to see if my new battery was good, functioning and not giving me problems. Although my Macbook Pro Retina 15" is on the older side (2011-2012) I can safely say it's in good standing. My only real complain was it took too long, (replacement procedure is difficult, due to the battery being glued to the case, wrong battery? had to order a new one, possible miscommunication on cell-phone) and the listed smaller problems such as rubber on screen is more damaged, one screw not fully flushed on the bottom (can't screw it in fully) and the backlit lights on the keyboard not turning on (maybe due to new battery or loose ribbon connector). The staff was nice, and new battery is working perfectly. If you have an older laptops like mine, this is a good place to get a repair. Otherwise I would just recommend getting a new laptop over all. read more

Never again. They lie to customers and will make up things to delay pick up. I have gone twice and had the same result both times. I tried to give them a chance thinking the first time was just a bad day. The second time was so stressful having them install the wrong type of windows on my system then made me drive to my home across the city to prove to them that I had the original disks for the right OS...when they said they did a back up disk and should have found my software on it. I was not happy and keep telling all to go elsewhere. read more

Worst place ever, they had my computer for 2 weeks, charged me 100 bucks and failed to find out what was wrong. It was my own built, worked great for a year then crashed during the game and stuck on boot loop. For 2 weeks they couldn't find what was wrong, told me they will replace all the components to diagnose but didn't, probably never even took it out of the case. I had to call them every second day to see what is going on and they would try to avoid me. At the end they said it is probably cpu, which means they never tried to install the new one. Got brand new cpu (warranty replacement) and still didn't work. The worst thing is, before I took the computer to them I was always getting the video on the screen, after I got it back couldn't even get it to post. Don't go there read more

I brought my laptop in to CDC with a couple of issues. I was met at the door by Jonathon who is in sales, but who made sure that I was able to connect with the right person in the service department. DO NOT GO HERE! These guys quoted me 3-4 days on a simple fix for my ps4. On day 7 I call and am frustrated that they STILL do not have it done. I then decided to leave them a bad google review. The next day they call and say that they are refusing to complete the repair because a bad review was left. These guys do not conduct business in a professional manner, and I would strongly urge people to stay away from this wretched place. read more

This company doesn't provided you with the products you request, as well they don't stand behind what they sell. They misrepresent their products and play dumb if you catch them. About a year ago I was looking to get a whole new desktop system. I did not want to deal with any of the big box chain outlets, was looking for a place with a more personal approach, some place that is looking to deal with long-time home computer/home-based online business operators such as myself. I visited several likely businesses in Winnipeg, none of whom fit the bill. None seemed to place any value on acquiring me as a customer. Then I called CDC, and from about a minute into that first call until the end when I was driving away with the custom-build and all the accouterments to go with it I was utterly impressed. Not only did they bend over backwards to give me the deal I was looking for on a high-end work + gaming computer but threw in the wireless keyboard and mouse I was wanting without me even having to ask for it. They now have 100% of my business and more importantly my highest recommendation for as long as they continue to treat me like this. They earned it in spades. read more

I am completely satisfied on their onsite job, when i had an emergency on my computer and called CDC and their service manager send a Technician right away to fix my computer. That was fast response and good service. I highly recommend CDC. you guys are rock..! cheers.. read more
