When I come back to visit for Homecoming or my sororities functions on campus - it is great to see the new buildings and all the accommodations made for the students. When I attended the school it was known for "Education, Music & Health & Safety" majors primarily. Now, I see there are students who are there for many other majors and Millersville U. has been receiving good feedback in the academic world for having good programs. I feel for the education, the costs are still at a premium value. Millersville has done average in the sports department comparatively to other state schools - but it was always a fun outing to watch the games. I am glad I chose Millersville U. and when I come back to visit - it is wonderful to see how much it has grown and I can enjoy all that it has to offer upcoming students.

She has lived in an environment not conducive to learning. She has been bullied by her suite mates for months with nothing being done. She has gone to countless ra's. She is only planning on doing half of next year at this point due to the inability or laziness of the people who over see the dorms. It's just sad the classes are great but the housing is lacking. Be cautious

The University of Delaware, with its main campus in Newark, Delaware had its beginnings in 1743 and…read moreevolved into a public institution of higher learning; named Newark College (1765) and then Delaware College (1843). It was not until 1921 that it became University of Delaware. Honestly, I wouldn't care all that much, but for the fact that my son has decided to attend as a college freshman in September. Suddenly, it is very important to me. I've since learned that it is one of the oldest universities in the USA, and is ranked #127 of 1,647 colleges in America and #77 of 366 for engineering schools (my son plans to study aerospace engineering). True, it is also #35 /1,520 top party schools, and #36/672 top public universities. Ultimately, what he makes of it is up to him. I just hope the partying stat is not important to him (I'm dreaming). The most important part of its mission statement is: "...The University of Delaware promotes an environment in which all people are inspired to learn, and encourages intellectual curiosity, critical thinking, free inquiry and respect for the views and values of an increasingly diverse population." So, what is a Blue Hen, you ask. During the Revolutionary War, Congress commissioned the creation of a military battalion from the lower counties of Delaware. It was captained by John Caldwell, who among other things, was known for breeding fighting gamecocks. His chickens had bluish plumage and were ferocious. His regiment soon adopted the name "Blue Hen Chickens" to note their bravery in battle. The assignation stuck, and it became the mascot of the school in 1911 as the Fightin' Blue Hens in their honor. Brave chickens! Guess I'll have to get used to that oxymoron. Hope my son does their history proud.

Here's what I learned: Founded back in 1854 as Ashmun Institute, Lincoln University holds the honor of being the first historically Black college in the U.S. to grant degrees. It's got a proud legacy and a deep history of excellence. Under the leadership of President and alumna Dr. Brenda Allen, Lincoln ranks #18 out of 107 HBCUs in 2025. The campus sits on a beautiful, rural stretch in Chester County, PA, and with about 1,300 undergrads, class sizes stay small, meaning students get real, personalized attention from their professors, counselors, and support staff (if they seek it out - nobody's going to handhold them). Now, you might assume there's not much to do on a quiet, country campus, but think again :-) Around 93% of L.U. students are active in extracurriculars, whether it's clubs, sports, internships, or other campus activities that keep things lively and connected. STEM majors are especially popular and in high demand among incoming freshmen. In fact, thanks to the university's partnership with IBM, students have the opportunity to earn an AI certification through their coursework (pretty cool!).

A lot of the professors I had talk down to us as African American students. Which they didn't offer much help when it came to school work. Admin such register, bursar, financial aide and school safety all sucked. The food/ cafe sucked, kfc lol was ok as well as the little restaurant in the student building was good.
