Cedar Crest Lodge is a lovely and relaxing space. The staff are welcoming and ensure you are having a lovely time. Having to be gluten free they put much care into preparing meals that were delicious and like the others were having.

The Lodge is a uniquely special Kansas destination, offering a serene and natural setting with walking trails, fire pit, sauna and pool (seasonally). Outside seating for gorgeous sunrises, sunsets and events. The Lodge itself is welcoming for meals in a picturesque sunroom, as well as cozy nook for reading and games. Our Couples Package in the beautifully appointed Tuscan manor suite in the private Carriage House top floor was incredibly romantic and immaculately designed for comfort and luxury. Perfect ambience and charm. It was a wonderful day after the hearty breakfast (fresh local eggs, cheeses and meats) with great coffee, reading, walking, talking and reconnecting with a deluxe picnic lunch next to the fire pit (with s'mores kit) and on our private deck. Then relaxing with masterful Swedish couples massages from Alyssa and Jackie. Hinkley filtered water! We had the towel warmer, plush robes and tiled bathroom floor heating up while we filled the huge jacuzzi tub with a sprinkle of their bath salts. Champagne and chocolate covered strawberries! Moonlit skylight in two person tiled shower. The bed and linens are sumptuous. Our in room suppers from Chef Jim with locally sourced ingredients were absolutely exceptional. Tender tenderloin steak better than any commercial restaurant. It's ideal for an intimate, rustic yet refined luxury experience and we look forward to celebrating there again and again. Laura and Tyler are true innkeepers upholding excellent hospitality standards. The Lodge should be rated 4 1/2 stars and has ruined us for all larger "luxury" commercial hotels.

Cedar Crest Lodge is a picture perfect bed and breakfast just a short drive from KC. With beautiful sunset and sunrise views from their hill top location in Plesanton Kansas. There are 12 uniquely themed rooms and suites. The rooms are clean and welcoming with attention to small details that make you feel right at home. On our arrival we were greeted by one of the owners, Matt, who quickly checked us in and gave us a brief tour and map of the property. Our room awaited us with a fun s'more making kit, robes, slippers and plenty of fresh linen. We stayed in the Bali Hai room which had a South Paaific beach decor, large bathroom and shower, small fridge and TV. Our king size bed was comfortable and inviting. Dinner was scheduled through the lodge and our meal was preselected by us prior to our arrival. We ordered the Balsamic Glazed Sirloin Steak and Beef Tenderloin in Burgundy Wine Sauce. Both were delicious, but the Sirloin knocked it out of the park with flavor. The lodge uses a fresh farm to table style which definitely is noticeable throughout their menu. Dinner and breakfast was such a treat as the staff worked seamlessly to prepare and serve every couse without delay. Their cheerful smiles and wonderful stories definitely added to our overall experience. The property grounds offer up many activities to keep you occupied. For those looking for a little relaxation the pool, hot tub, spa or sauna might be on your itinerary. For those looking for adventure, the nature trails, fishing pond, firepit, horseshoes or bocce ball might be more your speed. We enjoyed a little of each. There is even a scavenger hunt that when completed you get a prize at checkout. The owners Matt and Laura were wonderful hosts and truly took the time to make our experience perfect. Loved hearing their story of how they developed Cedar Crest into what it has become today. A perfect little getaway!

Are you tired and in need of some R&R? This place is just what the doctor ordered. A short drive south of Kansas City makes this the perfect getaway! We stayed in the Big Sky room which was perfect! They anticipated my every need. There was bug spray for walks in the woods, umbrellas if it rained, bath salts for the soaker tub, microwave with popcorn if you want to watch a movie in the comfy recliners, a refrigerator stocked with soda and a Keurig with a variety of coffees. Also if you don't like coffee, there is a very nice selection of teas. A filtered water dispensing machine, heated floors in bathroom, fireplace, nice large towels for the pool and s'more's kit. I highly recommend the Romance package. The couples massage was the BEST I ever had !(thank you Jose) We enjoyed the chocolate covered strawberries and used the champagne for morning mimosas. The picnic lunch was just the cutest and very filling. We did a little fishing on one of the ponds and enjoyed the Sauna, hot tub and swimming pool which is at the perfect temperature!! We built a fire in the fire pit( everything needed was provided) and enjoyed toasting our s'mores. Oh and the icing on the cake.....the resident fur babies! 2 dogs ( Coco & Pepper) and 3 cats( Biscuit, Muffin & Oscar) ALL super friendly. The staff was amazing from Caleb's smiling face at check in, to the friendly kitchen cooks and yard maintenance workers. Everyone of them checking to make sure you are enjoying your stay and inquiring if you need anything!!! They truly add to the experience. Oh and I forgot to mention the beautiful flowers and amazing sunsets! Cedar Crest Lodge exceeded my expectations!!! Even the rain could not dampen our stay. We left relaxed and refreshed.

It's been one long week since we visited this place I shall refer to as heaven. We celebrated our anniversary with a quick overnight getaway. This was the perfect place for the both of us. Nature Lovers and Foodies are who it caters towards. Check and check. We were greeted immediately upon arrival and shown around the B&B. What a sweet little B&B it is! There is a good reason they have won so many awards and continue to be the top B&B in the state of Kansas. Everything was so thoughtfully done. S'mores package waiting on our bed. Outdoor games available. Scavenger hunt(with a prize at the end). Delicious (and I do mean super delicious food). Cold pop or water in the carriage house. Microwave Popcorn, books, movies. Fuzzy robes and slippers. Fresh baked cookies at checkout. I would highly recommend this getaway to any couple needing to hit reset for a night or more. I could see a week being a little too long, due to its location to other activities, but that is a boredom I'd be willing to try at this point in parenthood.

Received a gift certificate for Cedar Crest Lodge and decided to do a get-away weekend for me and my husband here. What an awesome get-away it was! Cedar Crest Lodge is such a gem just an hour south of Kansas City. We will definitely visit again. Highlights: 1. Customer service was great. Anything we needed was immediately addressed. We were called by name from the moment we arrived. 2. Our room was perfect for us. We had a private deck right off the room where we had a private dinner and played cards. The pool was right out back along with an outdoor jacuzzi and sauna. 3. The spa was in the same building as our room. We had an awesome couples massage. 4. We enjoyed walking the nature trails. The grounds are beautiful. I can't wait to see the place after they renovate the ponds and bring paddle boating to the resort! 5. The sunsets were amazing! 6. The best part...THE FOOD!! Everything we had was delicious. From breakfast to dinner we didn't have a bad meal. We loved the picnic lunch. We brought our own wine. Since you plan your meals before you arrive you know just what to bring!

Cannot say enough good things about this place, we're big fans! My in-laws booked the entire lodge for a week in June, as part of their 50th wedding anniversary celebration. Over the course of the week, we had 30+ family members stay, some for the whole week, others just for a night or two. Being centrally located made it easier for family members who lived in different parts of the country to make the trek, and it was really convenient for the family members in the KS area. The lodge itself is situated on top of a large hill, which provides breathtaking, breezy views in all directions and is just about the most serene place I've ever stayed. The rooms were clean, cozy, and well-appointed...other Yelpers have done a good job of describing them so I won't rehash. We took full advantage of all the great amenities, including the pool, hot tub, fire pit (including all the supplies for S'mores!), well-groomed trails, and numerous stocked fishing ponds (bring your fishing gear). The food was excellent as well, with a nice variety of meals throughout the week, all at the level of quality and presentation you'd expect at a nice restaurant. You can tell they've honed their recipes to take full advantage of their own vegetable and herb garden. And don't get me started on the desserts! Honestly though, the real star of this place is the staff, who really bent over backwards to make sure we were happy and well-taken care of. With all of the comings and goings of family members over the week, they dealt with frequent bedding changes, rearrangements of which rooms arriving family members would stay, requested tweaks the daily menus or eating times, generally cleaning/tidying up after us in the common areas...and a near constant resupplying of cocktail ice for our nightly card and game playing. We really kept them on their toes but they always put our needs ahead of their own routine or preferences. Perhaps most impressive, was that all of the great service we received happened while the two owners were on vacation, which left them short-staffed. To me, that's a testament to the high standard of service Cedar Crest Lodge maintains by investing in its employees. I hope we'll be back soon, because for some reason my morning coffee just doesn't taste as good when I'm not on that porch, sitting in the rocking chair, and taking in a spectacular morning view.

I highly recommend this one. Surrounded by nature on all the sides and away from the hustle and bustle of the city life, this looks like a different world. I distinctly remember that we stood on the porch in the evening and we could hear nothing! If you are in a romantic mood, then Cedar Crest knows how to treat you indulgently. They offer spa treatment packages which are absolutely divine. Soak yourself afterwards in the Jacuzzi and relax. One of the things I would recommend is, don't request the housekeeping to clean the room while taking the massage because they will come and knock the main door (which is right next to the massage room). The Tuscan Manor Suite has a Jacuzzi plus a shower (with a sky light to let the day light in naturally). Although I was a bit surprised to see that the bathroom door didn't close all the way through (there was a gap between the door and the bathroom wall). Whether that's a design flaw or a maintenance issue I don't know. However, I loved the natural light in the shower area. They had soaps and bath fizz but no cream in the bathroom and I wonder why. Do take your own cream and a pair of slippers because they will give you a nice comfy robe but no slippers (for which the manager said that due to different feet sizes keeping slippers is a lot of hassle). They had Keurig with tea and coffee cups, beautiful stoneware mugs with creamer and sugar. They also have a microwave and fridge in the room so you can save the leftovers and warm them later whenever you want. While watching a movie, don't forget to munch on their complimentary popcorn. We had our massages after an hour so that is when we requested the housekeeping to come and clean the room. However, to our disappointment, they had just put in fresh towels and had done nothing else. The used coffee mugs and glasses were not changed. We were a bit confused because we thought maybe this is how this bed and breakfast runs. Turns out somehow the housekeeping forgot/ skipped the cleaning part. The manager apologized and said that it was unusual and keep in mind that I am just nit picking. Everything else was simply wonderful. The staff is very courteous and attentive. The previous evening when we were getting settled in the room, we noticed that one of the window blinds wasn't closing properly. When the staff came with the dinner we told her and it was fixed immediately. We were not able to explore and do any outdoorsy stuff because of the bad weather but we didn't miss it for a bit. Starting from the breakfast to the dinner everything was so perfect. The trip overall was an amazing experience all packed into one. The manager - Elisha is the best! She told us all about the farm to table (home grown) concept that they follow here. She is also an excellent cook. Read full review on my blog - Life Without Alu?

My girlfriend and I stayed here for one night, and it was a fantastic experience. I knew it was going to go well when they called a few days ahead of time to confirm our Dinner options, and Chasity was incredibly friendly and accommodating when I needed to call back later. When we got there, check in was very easy, and Chasity gave us a nice tour of the room (including a how-to on the bathroom's heated floors). We also had a massage, and the massage therapists were wonderful too. Dinner was delicious, as was breakfast the next morning. Again, everyone couldn't have been friendlier. We'll definitely be going back again when the weather is warmer so we can enjoy some of the outdoor amenities that sounded so fun.

Myself & my wife stayed for two nights celebrating our honeymoon, it was fantastic. As soon as we drove up the driveway to lodge perched among beautiful surroundings we where greeted by the two wonderful owners. There hospitality & that from their staff was very welcoming. The room we got was the honeymoon suit was beautiful and very well equipped with a large jet tub and very comfortable bed. The food was delicious with a lot of the ingredients grown in their very own garden. For us spending a long relaxing evening watching the sunset from their terrace with breathtaking view of the beautiful Kansas countryside was the best. They made myself and my wife lifelong guests of the wonderful bed & breakfast.

He calls me back, yelling, saying he "tried" to get a hold of me several times to cancel but in Booking.com it showed it was still booked. I called booking.com and they told me that he never informed them that my reservation was cancelled. So... he cancelled my reservation after he found out that a music festival was the same weekend I booked so he can raise his prices. What a dishonest piece of shit! If I didnt called today, I would've drove 4 hours, to find out I didnt have a place to stay. To top it off, because he didn't inform Booking.com, my funds would've still been taken out from my credit card! I had to demand booking.com to call him while I was on the phone to cancel it on his end, because my reservation was still confirmed. Again, what a joke of a person you are! We spent the next few hours roaming around their land. They have beautiful walking trails and a pond with fish. There's turkeys, dogs, kittens, and cows to become friends with. They turned their barn into the Bar/n which is a super cool hangout space with TVs, dartboard, and an amazing bar. You can bring your own alcohol and I could see this being an amazing place to bring a group of friends. While we were in the Bar/n chickens and kittens were roaming around. It was so charming. There is an option to add dinner to your stay for $25 a person. You must add this to your reservation! We were able to enjoy and amazing surf and turf dinner with the owners with amazing homemade bread, celery salad from their garden, and amazing fruit crisp. Their beef is from the cattle they raise in their property. Don't even get me started on breakfast the next morning. It was just as good! We will definitely be returning for another staycation!
