I volunteered at the Cedar Hill Food Pantry with my sorority sisters this morning. A tremendous blessing to serve Cedar Hill and neighboring communities. If you have a food need, even food for your dog or cat, or just a friendly welcoming smile, it's all here. One set an appointment to meet with the administrators of the pantry to discuss your food and dietary requirements. Today, I enjoyed meeting some amazing folks. The Cedar Hill Food Pantry received donations from Sprouts, Target, Tom Thumb, Walmart, Kroger and many other grocers. There were offerings of freshly baked bagels, orange and blueberry scones, French bread, chocolate donuts, cakes, crackers, pita bread, granola, cereal, diapers, wipes, nuts, protein bars, canned vegetables and meats. Other items include a variety of fresh fruits. And, much much more... I was told the large capacity freezer was just donated to the pantry. A tremendous need to keep refrigerated items frozen or cold. The pantry didn't have milk or eggs on this day. But Soror Porter volunteers on a regular basis and shared that eggs and milk are expected to arrive by truck later this week. I must say this is a well stocked pantry! read more
