    Chilaquiles

I love cedar street cafe!! They have amazing breakfast tacos. Make sure you get the spicy green salsa to go with them. They also make a pretty good iced mocha. I wasn't really a fan of their chilaquiles though. The restaurant is pretty small, but it is super cute and they have a small outside seating area. This place is definitely a hidden gem in the Bellaire area.

So thankful to have something like this in Bellaire. The breakfast tacos are generously stuffed and the coffee is legit. Tortillas and salsa are made fresh. Barbacoa available on the weekend.

breakfast burrito w/ bacon and added avocado and pico! it was SOOOOOO GOOD! you can taste the grilled tortilla and the bacon was so crispy! the verde sauce took this burrito from a 10/10 to 20/10. GET IT AHORA

I stumbled across this place after an appointment in the area and boy am I glad I did!! This is for sure going to be added to my breakfast taco rotation. It looks like they just moved locations around the corner from their old spot, so make sure you head to 5211 Cedar St. Super cute little building and plenty of parking surrounding the place! Staff was very friendly and greeted me as soon as I walked in. I ordered two bacon, egg, and cheese tacos and they were stuffeddd I was so happy. Add on the green sauce that comes on the side... amazing.

We were simply told to "sit on the bench and wait" with no effort made to make us feel welcome or comfortable while waiting for our table. When making the reservation, we specifically requested either a quiet table or seating at the bar. Despite this, we were seated at a small table between two particularly noisy groups. On one side was a family with three young children playing a loud game involving frequent shouting and slapping on the table. There was intermittent drumming which the parents were oblivious to. On the other side was a large group facing us engaged in very loud ongoing conversation. The result was an atmosphere that made it difficult to enjoy the meal. Service was also inconsistent. Our server offered chips to accompany the Tiradito but she never brought them. Overall, the evening was disappointing. Between the unwelcoming reception from the dour hostess, noisy seating arrangement and lapses in service, the experience was far from enjoyable. Could not wait to leave.

All I can say is "Wow!"…read more If there is one thing that I feel I can evaluate with some degree of authority, it is the quality of taqueria fare. And Taqueria Mexico is one that I feel truly exemplifies this genre of Texas cuisine (Texas taquerias are by definition Mexican / Tex-Mex hybrids). On my most recent visit to my favorite city in the world, I happened to stay in the Galleria. Given that I usually prefer to dine in or around where I am staying, I was fairly limited to what I generally *like* with respect to restaurants, so I ventured into the adjacent but familiar Sharpstown neighborhood. On my last day in town, we wanted Taqueria brunch (what's new?). Driving down Bellaire Boulevard, I spotted Taqueria Mexico. It occured to me that I used to come here quite a bit when I first moved to Houston (at that time, living in Sharpstown). The only thing I remembered very vividly was how good their salsas were, which, combined with nostalgia, was enough for me to make the decision to eat here. This was without a doubt some of the best taqueria brunch I have had in years. I order almost exclusively à la carte due to health-related dietary reasons. Anyone familiar with my reviews and content would know this, and what I usually order - steak, eggs, and bacon (à la carte). Not only was this some of the best taqueria steak I have had in a while, the service and atmosphere were also top-notch. And, did I mention their salsas? I would come back again just for that! If you are in the Sharpstown area, and looking for a good classic Houston taqueria, with quality food, service, and a clean vibrant environment, I highly recommend stopping by here. I doubt you will be dissapointed!

The food here never misses. It always comes out piping hot, flavorful, and in Texas‑sized portions (and yes... the drinks are strong, so pace yourself). Honestly, the best strategy is to order a few dishes and share -- that way you can taste everything without popping a button. This time I tried the Mulita taco for the first time and oh my goodness... delicious. My crew tore up the chicken nachos, the birria grilled cheese, and the taco plate. We even grabbed a chicken burrito to go for my husband at home. And that soft‑serve margarita deserves its own round of applause. BTW, our server was great. She kept a pulse on our eating pace and brought some to-go boxes when she saw us slowing down. If you haven't been, I absolutely recommend Dona Leti's. Just bring your patience, your appetite, and a designated driver -- because they do not play with those margaritas.

The flavors are excellent and not too spicy for anyone who is sensitive to spice. The food is pretty expensive and yes, the portions are pretty big, but a lot of the food presented is side food like rice, onions, and cheese. If you put those aside, the portions of the actual food is not that big. I also do not like how almost everything had an up charge. Shout out to our waiter for telling us if certain things had an up charge but almost everything we asked for had an up charge that was not written on the menu. For example, for my pupusa, I wanted bean and cheese instead of cheese and there was a one dollar upcharge. We asked for some jalapeños and that cost a dollar and the cup was so tiny. Also certain types of meats for certain types of tacos have an up charge that are not listed on the menu and I wish they would just be clear about that. They also made a mistake and overcharged me by three dollars which I did not really catch until after I paid... Our server was nice, but there are definitely pros and cons of the place.
