Wow !! Found this place by accident when ordering on bite squad when our regular places we order from happened to be closed. Best find in a long long time. Everything we got was the best of Mediterranean food we've had here in St. Pete. Amazing falafel, grape leaves, tahini, chicken kabobs, hummus, all of it. I can't believe how much food showed up... even what I would consider a life time supply of pita bread that was totally warm and toasty when it came by delivery. I ordered the hummus appetizer, kufta kabob sandwich, and the beef shawarma sandwich as a to-go order. The hummus was pretty good. The beef shawarma needed more seasoning, and some of it was a bit chewy (gristle maybe). The kufta kabob could also use more seasoning, but I'd still select this again for a future lunch. The prices were very reasonable, and the food was prepared quickly. The restaurant appears very popular with online orders; several people for online services (such as Door Dash, Uber Eats) stopped in to pick up orders while I was there. read more

Well...We can't stay away....Now have been here in the last 10 days 3 times! We only eat Mediterranean, no red meat, no burgerking, McDon's, any of the other....hummus whenever, salads, grilled chicken.....Extra Virgin Olive Oil, We love the Hummus and Babaganoush, the thin Pita excellent, (Low Carb cause it's thin, Perfect!) The restaurant is in an unassuming strip mall. The inside of the restaurant is also plain & unassuming. Don't let that stop you. I ordered the chicken shawarma platter. The food here is now the reigning champ for Middle Eastern food in my county. The chicken shawarma was composed of fresh, perfectly cooked tiny strips of chicken breast seasoned absolutely perfectly. Cedars has nailed the proper proportions for the different spices they used. The platter comes with 2 sides. I ordered hummus & baba ghanoush. The hummus was creamy & oh so fresh. The baba ghanoush was the ultimate. This puréed, grilled, & charred eggplant & seasonings were over the top. I couldn't get over the smoky charred flavor that was mildly imparted in the dish. That smokiness is usually missing in most establishments as they take short cuts. My wife had delicious falafel which was freshly made, seasoned delicately, & piping hot. Her cheese pie was amazing as well. I spoke with the waiter who was from Morocco. He was helping others in the kitchen from Lebanon. TAKEOUT REVIEW: Got takeout delivered from here twice via a food delivery service. Would love to have dine in service in the future. Since my boyfriend and I have only had food delivered I'm not too harsh on the critique or rating of the food. Restaurant closes at 10 and we have ordered around 9 pm both times. The food is good and decently price. It's nice to have a cheap Mediterranean option that is still good quality, and authentic. Each main entree is a big portion size that easily yields leftovers. As always for my boyfriend and I, the strength of any Mediterranean or middle eastern restaurant lies on the quality of their hummus. My boyfriend approved of the hummus and loved it! Both times I have ordered the mixed grill with my sides as baganonsh ($12.99). The babaganosh was really chunkier than I was accustomed and took me by surprise. It was over acidic with lemon juice the first time but the 2nd time I ordered it was a lil less chunky and use of lemon juice was balanced. As you can see in the pictures my mixed grill the second time around was a little charred. I could taste it slightly but it wasn't too prominent to stop me from enjoying it. The first time it was not that "well done". All the meats were flavorful. The falafel was average, a bit greasy the 2nd time around. I mean you could squeeze it and oil dripped. We've tried the veggie platter with grape leaves, and tabouleh salad. My boyfriend commented both were ok but not the best he's had. This was my first time trying both tabouleh salad and grape leaves, and I was not impressed to want to order it again. Sticking to hummus and babahonush as my sides! The grape leaves were kinda blah for him flavor wise. My boyfriend got the gyro platter 2nd time around for 10 dollars! It was a lot of lamb meat. Didn't taste dry and the flavors were spot on. Reminiscing of garlic oil sauce from another Lebanese restaurant we frequent, we decided to order the garlic sauce from here and it was not the same. We arrived right at time of opening so it took a few minutes to get ordering and such as they were just getting established for the day. The food was quick to arrive and everything was delicious. The service was wonderful. We were the only ones in the restaurant to start but were soon followed by others. The table next to us appeared to be "regulars" which is nice because it shows the food is most likely consistently good as well as the service. The restaurant was cleanly. I believe they also own the market next door if I heard someone in the kitchen correctly. Drinks are mostly served from a refrigerator in cans or bottles. There are also fresh pastries available at the counter when you first enter and what I believe is usually fresh bread. My husband also had the coffee (fair warning it is served with sediment at the bottom, if you're unfamiliar it can be quite a shock). read more

I have been going to this place for at least the last 5 yrs. I have taken friends here who are as amazed as I am. The food is unreal good! I love the veggie platter the most because the tabbouleh salad is always so fresh. I think they make it when you order it. The hummus is great and the falafel are awesome. If you like Cedar Market next door, you'll like Cedars Grill. Some of what I ordered here I have also purchased at the market, and they're very similar. I stopped in one day for an off-hour lunch with a friend. Cedar's Grill is a bit sterile inside. Yes, there's color on the walls, but it's not what I would call comfortable. I wouldn't want to sit here for much longer than it takes to have lunch, and that warrants docking a star. Our waitress was incredibly nice and kept pushing the meal platters (meat plus rice plus other side) because they were the best deal. I wasn't feeling something that heavy, but it was nice she was looking out for us. I ordered the lentil soup and the vegetarian platter. The soup was good and reminded me of one I had on a cold night in Turkey; it even came with the chunk of lemon. Having recently had the veg platter over at Beirut I could have a really good comparison since that was a fresh memory. The platter I ordered had a couple felafel, tabbouleh, fattoush, grapeleaves, and hummus. The tabbouleh and hummus were the best part of it for me. Like the market next door, the hummus is a bit thin and can be used as a condiment instead of a heavy dip. Smear some on pita, insert felafel or meat, top with some salad... The tabbouleh is the tiny bulgur couscous instead of the big pearls, and it's definitely predominantly parsley. The fattoush was also good, but the dressing I've had in other places was a little better. Grapeleaves have never been my favorite. Until I tried the ones at Beirut Cafe, I actively disliked them. The ones here could have been forgotten in the kitchen and I would be okay with it. The felafel was pretty much average. All in all, it was an average meal. Next time I would try the meat because the skewers in the case looked really good, but I wanted to pick at a bunch of things instead. read more

Stopped by Cedars Grill today in St Pete for lunch today. It is in a small somewhat odd little plaza. We walked in and the place was empty. We were greeted and seated immediately. We ordered the babagounosh, veggie platter, and the Cedars mixed grill plate. It was kind of funny as the server told us the special, but I had a hard time understanding him, but he asked us if we wanted to try it, and we said yes. Little did we know we ordered a 4th plate when we had hoped for a sample. Small misunderstanding and wasn't worried about it. The food was all very flavorful. I enjoyed the veggie platter as much as the mix of meat kabobs. Everything on the veggie platter was amazing. The babagounosh had a great flavor as well. A Good Quick-Service Restaurant when You Absolutely Need Mediterranean Food Now. My family and I were in a pinch--we had a fun day at the beach, lots of activities, and lost track of time. We had a couple of kids who were tired and hungry. We saw this restaurant had great reviews on Yelp and Google and we are suckers for Mediterranean food. I ordered the Gyro Plat ($10), which came with everything you need to build a fantastic gyro--perfectly seasoned and cooked beef/lamb mix which was vertically broiled, had a great char, and topped with chopped red onions, a lettuce, tomato, olive salad, yogurt sauce, and a side of rice and pitas. The portions were filling and, again, the beef/lamb was so delicious. My wife ordered the Veggie Platter ($$7.50), which came with tabbouleh salad, hummus, three felafels, babaganoush or three grape leaves, and a side of pita. She loved every item on that platter and even licked it clean... just kidding--kinda. Our kids split the Grilled Chicken Kebab (Tawok) ($11), which were tender cubes of marinated chicken with lemon, fresh garlic, and other spices; it also came with a choice of two sides and they got the hummus and fries (go figure); it also came with a side of pita. They gobbled everything up and were now tired and full, but happy. This is a small restaurant and they deserve patrons. The person who served us, was the host, server, cook, and cashier--and did an amazing job at all four. We are not from the Clearwater, Florida area, but when we come back, we will visit Cedar Grill again. read more

I've been to many many Mediterranean restaurants and this is one I will never forget! My girlfriend and I ordered the veggie plate and gyro plate, both were spectacular. The tabouleh was flavorful, falafel was fried perfectly (outside crisp while still having a nice soft inside), hummus was creamy and i could tell it was homemade, gyro meat was seasoned nicely, dolmas to die for, rice was outstanding. Portions were filling but not too much to encourage overeating, ingredients were nice and fresh...I can't say enough good things about this place. Overall a great spot to enjoy a healthy, hearty meal! read more

Good food at a great price. What could be better? Oh wait, how about good food at a FANTASTIC price? There's a 20% off deal for checking in. That's pretty hard to beat. So with a discount on their already reasonable prices, this place is crushing it in terms of price to taste to quantity. I've had a fair amount of gyro salads in my day, and none compare to the quality and generous portions of meat for the price paid. I mean, usually you're looking a salad with loads of lettuce, unripe cucumbers, tomato wedges that are practically half the damn tomato, and like 5 small chunks of meat. This aint the case at Cedars. I opened to my to-go box to find a wonderfully unbalanced salad. And I say wonderfully unbalanced because like half the salad was meat! No longer would I have to sparse out my meat so that I could get a little protein every 5 bites. No sir, not here. I was pretty much able to get meat and lettuce in every bite. And when it's combined with the other ingredients and dressings, it's just wonderful. Highly recommend to anyone in the St. Pete area. read more
