So I actually had a really great experience at Hilltop. I feel like with most education .. you get…read morewhat you pay for. Attending Hilltop was like attending university instead of a quick college course. There is no way I would have been able to learn on my own what I learned with the excellent instructors in class. During my time there instructors offered to give extra help and there was absolutely no charge for that. There were some old alumni and some current students there were offering tutoring at a price.. but that sort od thing is done everywhere! And I paid for my tuition myself, with a payment plan. Nobody pressured me into taking any kind of student loan, and I know for a fact that at least 50% of the students in my graduating class also paid for their own education. I found the education to be totally worth the price and I think that a lot of people would actually agree with me as many of my friends that graduated with me are successful trainers or group fitness instructors. So clearly my experience is the complete opposite of the girl above... I had a great time there and felt that I learned a lot. And I know that a lot of the students in my class, the previous classes and the students that started after me all feel the same way because we all stay in touch! Awesome School! It's the only way to go if you want real knowledge of the training industry. After the Personal Training Diploma Program ... if you are looking for more eduction... go for a kinesiology degree!

I gained so much knowledge from one of the most knowledgeable and gifted teachers, Donna, I have ever encountered - very passionate and with years of experience in the fitness industry. The instructors addressed any questions that I had. The course is technology-forward so we were encouraged to do practice quizzes using different methods not only limited to handouts but also different apps, websites, games and hands-on. As a visual-kinesthetic learner I need different learning tools beside books to make things more clear. It was amazing how instructors understood my learning style and supported me whenever I needed extra help. Best part was not only did I surrounded myself with like-mind people but I also gained great knowledge in the classroom, the gym and outside - in gorgeous Westminster Pier Park when the weather was nice. We learned invaluable information about the industry from guest speakers who also happened to be hiring manager and potential employers for many of us in the class. Moreover we enjoyed many field trips relevant to the material covered like to Flaman Fitness and Save-on-Foods for nutrition talk with Registered Dietician. I would highly recommend this course to others! Go Hilltop!

SewGood - Learning to lay out and cut the fabric.

I am an "expert" beginner sewer, having taken several first-time classes over the last 15 years or…read moreso. In the past, maybe due to uninspiring projects (what's so popular about making pyjamas?!) or boring teachers, I've never really followed up and taken up the hobby of sewing. I wanted to give it another try and I was lucky this time around with Carley at SewGood. I was looking for a sewing class in my area, and SewGood fit the bill. On top of that, her website is very well made, and filled me with confidence when deciding to take one of her classes. I once again chose the absolute beginner class, "level 1" not wanting to skip ahead and then realizing I've forgotten how to do a proper something or other. In this class, we learned how to make an elastic waist band skirt over the duration of four, three hour classes. Carley is an excellent teacher, very warm and welcoming, and definitely knows her stuff. She made learning easy for myself and for the absolute beginners in the class as well. Her work space is perfect, suited for four people (the max class size) and stocked with everything you could possibly need (including some warm tea when you're in the mood!). Initially, I had some misgivings about the project itself, not being much of a skirt-wearer, but happy that at least it wasn't pyjamas. However, the skirt has turned out very nicely, and Carley helped all of us make certain alterations to each of our patterns (particularly in the length department). The end result is a skirt I will actually wear our in public! I took it home last night after our last class, paired it with a cute brightly colored top and a wide belt (admittedly, the elastic waist band is a little juvenile if you tuck your shirt in and go as is) and it looks like a nice, store bought skirt. I'm definitely looking forward to signing up for Carley's next class, Level 2, where we learn how to make a more fitted pencil skirt. She has so many project ideas and is open to suggestions if there is enough interest. For the beginner, intermediate or experienced sewer, I would definitely recommend Carley's Sew Good classes.

Carley is an excellent teacher and such a friendly welcoming person. In her beginner classes Carley makes sure you know the basics including how to take body measurements, how to use a commercial pattern, information about different types of fabrics and how to choose the appropriate one as well as how to lay out and cut your fabric. She also ensures that you are knowledgeable about the basics of a sewing machine and how to use certain tools. Carley is willing to answer any questions you have along the way and she is very helpful in doing so. Once you have taken a few of her classes you will have learned anything you will ever need to know about sewing, allowing you to produce your own garments at home! With Carley's help I have built a successful portfolio and have been accepted into Kwantlen's program. I sincerely recommend Carley at SewGood if you are interested in learning to sew!

I am so grateful for the teachers' and owner, Ms. Edith, 's hard work at this school, especially throughout the pandemic when I had so many worries about safety. They always try their best to attend to the children's needs by providing a well-designed learning environment. My son would often come home with fun stories, arts, and practice sheets that he has gained so many social and academic skills. The teachers go above and beyond; I love the updates and photos they send in the app. Also, I love their outside playground, partly covered, so that kids can play outside even when it heavily rains without soaking in the water. My son has experienced significant advancements in his manners at home and his continued growth. Ms. Edith is a great communicator, an experienced educator, an excellent source for the parents. I am so, so grateful for Fraser Montessori. If you're looking for a daycare with great people and the best care, this is an excellent place for you and your family to check out.

They have both been attending since August 2015. They both like it there. My daughter always has good things to say about the owner, Miss Edith. She has the opportunity to work on art projects after school, which she loves. My son (who has just turned 4 years old) has been learning to read and write the alphabet and can now write his name. He has also been able to develop his artistic skills. Miss Edith is almost always available to talk to if I have any concerns or questions about the progress of my children's learning. The classrooms are very clean and well organized. There are many stimulating activities for the kids to engage in depending on their interests and level of learning. The kids have show and tell every Friday, which my son loves. He has really developed socially over the last 6 months as well. The centre is open from 7:00 am to 6:00 pm which works perfectly for my schedule as I work on Vancouver, which gives me plenty of time to get to work after drop-off and to get back after work even if there is a traffic jam.
