I only have a couple little critiques about this place and that's why I gave 4 stars vs 5. The service was amazing. Very attentive and polite. The ambiance was relaxing but vibrant. Always comfortable! The food: Let me start by saying, I am SUPER picky about Alfredo because I firmly believe no one can make it better than me. This Alfredo is very close in flavor BUT my pizza was dry and I wanted some for dipping on the side. I would have had to order a batch of Alfredo bc they make it to order...that's great and all, until you are in my situation and need some on the side. I was bummed. The sirloin was delicious and perfectly cooked but the green beans were hard and raw. I like them at least a-little soft and warm. The fettuccine Alfredo and the trio were absolutely delicious! We had a delicious meal at Cello's. They were busy but reservations got us in right away. Our waitress was very friendly and kept the drinks filled all night. We started with the brussel sprouts which were broiled perfectly and drizzled with a balsamic and Parmesan. I had a salted caramel espresso martini that was amazing and my husbands jack and diet was strong so he sipped all night. Dinner is served with fresh bread and an oil/balsamic dipping bowl. Fresh bread is always a nice touch, especially in a cold night. Our entrees were both a fettuccine, mine was lobster tail with shrimp and chicken, and my husband was a traditional Alfredo. Pasta was perfect, the lobster was fishy but good with the sauce. For dessert, they were out of the chocolate torte but the creme brulee cheesecake and chocolate mousse cake were delicious. So how do I begin. My husband ordered veal piccata and got chicken. I ordered the "special menu" of pan seared 1/2 chicken with garlic spinach and potatoes. I got the chicken with frozen veggies and mashed potatoes that tasted like they came from a box. And bonus, they came with a hair in the mix. I wish there was a 3.5 because I would go that route but I'll go with 4 stars since I'm in between. Took my folks here for their birthdays. The experience was okay. Overall the important thing is that they were happy. I appreciated having many gluten free options, lots of kudos for that! I got the chicken Marsala with gf pasta. The flavor was there, the portions were huge (understatement), but it was very overcooked and dry. I didn't say anything at the restaurant (part of why I'm going with the 4 star instead of 3) because I didn't want to cause a nice night out to sour. However, on the ride back, my boyfriend said had the same problem with the chicken from his meal. We couldn't eat our considerable leftovers because they just got even more dry heated. It was a shame for the $ price. So I wish we had attempted to let them correct it. But my parents were happy with the schnitzel special and a seafood dinner (I forget what my dad had). The waitress was attentive. The atmosphere is nice. I would give it another chance if someone else wanted me to find there with them but wouldn't go out of my way to come back. read more

Stopped in on a Friday night for pizza without reservations ,and we were able to get the last open table in the bar area. We had a cheese pizza and a chicken parm pizza, both were very good, the sauce and crust are good. Saw Cello's on Yelp and google and thought we would check it out. It is in the same plaza as Pasquales used to be. Upon driving in, we noticed there were two entrances: Tavern and Dining Room. We went in the Tavern entrance and asked if the two were connected. They were not. The hostess said that they were "cutting" the waitress in the dining room so we would have to be seated in the tavern. It was 8:00 pm and they say they are open until 10 pm? So we were seated in the noisy Tavern. Right next to the bar. Our waitress Megan came over to us rather quickly and asked about our drinks. I could barely hear her. I ordered a Cosmo and hubby a coffee. My Cosmo tasted like it was made with rubbing alcohol. When a bar is charging $11.00 for a drink they should at least use decent liquor. Not top shelf, but decent. I guess not. Then the waitress came over to ask us what we wanted to order. I ordered the Chicken Piccata as I always do and asked for angel hair. Hubby, Veal Parmesan. After a while the waitress came over and said "we ran out of angel hair". Run out of angel hair? Ok then I asked for ziti or penne. She said they didn't have that. I'm not sure what kind of Italian restaurant runs out of angel hair and doesn't offer penne or ziti. So I had to settle for linguini. We waited a while and then asked the waitress if they had any bread. She came back with not only the bread, but also the salad, and our entrees ALL AT THE SAME TIME! When I finally got to eat my Chicken Piccata, I took a couple bites. Then one bite, and came to the conclusion it was inedible. It had an overwhelming taste of garlic! And I mean "overwhelming". And I love garlic! The menu describes it as a "lemon wine garlic sauce". It should say "garlic, garlic, wine sauce", because there certainly was no lemon in my dish. And I'm not sure if it had any wine in it either. It seemed like jarred garlic and jarred sauce....I make my own Piccata regularly and it tastes nothing like that. There was so much garlic, it was inedible. My hubby tried it and immediately said "that's horrible". After the few bites I stopped eating it. When our waitress Megan came over to ask if we were done she could see the entire meal minus a few bites was going back to the kitchen. She never went to her manager and reported it. The right thing to do was to ask if my meal was OK and if it wasn't to notify the manager. The manager should of then comp my meal, or offer something else since she knew it went back to the kitchen for dissatisfaction, and taken it one step further and given a small gift card as an enticement to the customer to give them another try. That's what's called satisfying your customer. Restaurants that don't train their waiters and waitresses to pay attention are just worried about making a buck, not satisfying the customer. I certainly hope this is not the usual for this dish, and realize things happen in the kitchen. It's what you do to rectify it that matters. Otherwise people will not return. I know our waitress did notice that most of my meal was going back to the kitchen because she asked me "twice" if I needed a box. "Twice" I said no. As an experienced cook, who can make Chicken Piccata with my eyes closed, I would have taken that as a failure, and would want to make it right. And learn from these experiences so they don't happen to the next person. The manager was walking around so it would have been very easy for her to address the situation. Before we went to the car we checked out the dining room side. It was about 9:20 pm. The door was open and customers were sitting at tables eating. Which was a little confusing since the hostess said that side was closed down at 8:00pm? The end of a horrible experience. The number one reason I go out to eat is for the food. Number 2 is the service and experience. This restaurant fails for these reasons. read more

This was disappointing. Everything was below average. Calamari was super thin and not good. Lasagna was nothing special and over loaded with sausage which I don't think the menu even mentioned?? Wine pour was weak, and if they actually measured it they'd probably learn they're under serving. Service was good until a food runner brought out our food and left all of our app plates in a pile on the table - why are we eating our meal with a pile of dirty dishes? Wouldn't go back. read more

Very disappointed in this place I've been there a few times had a couple of decent meals not great but ok ... last night. We went there for our anniversary hoping for a great dinner. I ordered the chicken piccata and I am not exaggerating when I say there was at least 50 capers in my dish, I had to laugh. I've never seen so many capers in one plate in my life. It was so bitter there was no substance to the sauce at all just kind of watery, pasta floating in it. All you could taste was bitterness and garlic I couldn't even eat it ! the waiter kind of brushed it off and said he would bring attention to it to the chef. My husband got veal Parm it was just ok , way too much breading on the veal sauce was passable, but nothing spectacular about it ... I guess I have to give up on this place. Our first time at Cellos was this evening. They get a solid B The pluses .. great attentive staff , and a visit from the owner. The weirdness. The inside of Cellos is a comfy semi casual affair. The layout of the dining area is perfect for some Sinatra or even some smooth Jazz, but not Rock, not even Classic Rock. I love Rock, but when dining Italian I prefer Tony Bennett to the Eagles. The food. . Before I continue a peeve.. What? No Minestrone?, now... The salad was standard and as per usual heavy on the lettuce, skimpy on tomato and onion. The dipping bread and oil. The bread was just fine, light and airy. The dipping oil should be handled with care by not dipping too deeply into the bowl, whether it be the herbs, the vinegar or the combination, the result is a bit more bitter than I prefer. The Bruschetta. definitely a contender, cut back on the balsamic and it would be a winner for sure. The veal parmigiana. A nice sized breaded cutlet well covered by house sauce and cheese. I would have prefered two smaller cutlets on the crispier side but the veal was deliciously tender , making up for the slight sogginess that comes when frying thicker cutlets. I asked for the fettucini on the side as it hastens the sogginess of the breading t if the veal sits on top of it. The fettucini was just at al dente and the house sauce held onto the noodles with no wateriness. A decent enough presentation. The wife's lasagna . She loved it and I loved the few bites I had, the herbed ricotta was very rich and satisfying. Dessert was in the the plans only because I wanted to try the Berry Creme Brulee. Sadly they had run out and we were really too full anyway. Tab for two, including a Margarita and the wifes ginger ale totaled a few pennies below sixty bucks, I have spent more for less satisfying meals elsewhere. A return visit is definitely in the future. But we have many Italian restaurants to try.. Trying to us is part of the fun. read more

Fabulous new Italian restaurant with terrific food. Our party had veal picatta, chicken picatta, parmesan encrusted salmon, and ribeye steak. Every dish was perfectly prepared and consumed in a minimal amount of time. The picatta sauce was especially tasty. The final highlight was the limocello tiramisu dessert which melted in your mouth. Where to start. My wife and I are new to the area and wanted to try takeout. Takeout Italian is hit or miss doesn't always travel well. The lady on the phone that took my order was very pleasant and professional. When I arrived the customer service was even better from everyone involved. The food was packaged perfectly. I got the Italian feast and my wife got the mushroom ravioli. The food was phenomenal! I can't imagine how amazing it would've been if I had gotten it fresh at the restaurant. We have been here many times and always had great food and service. This evening we invited friends and I had raved about their Pork Osso Buco. We both ordered it and it ended up being Beef Short Ribs. We did not complain but I was quite disappointed that we did not get what we ordered. Great dinner with great food and service. Started with the chef special Arancini and the meat and cheese board. They were enjoyed by all. The arancini are a definite go to choice. Entrees were excellent. The short rib with Parmesan polenta was great, the lasagna was perfect. The other two dinners had were great, the pork oso Buco was huge and tasty. This is our new go to. We've visited three times now and have loved the food and the wonderful service every time. All of the dishes we've tried have been well prepared and delicious - from the arancinis to the pizza to the pasta to the filet - we've enjoyed everything. Our new favorite restaurant! Cello's owners and staff make you feel welcome and appreciated at every visit. They offer excellent food and service at very reasonable prices. My wife had the Beef Wellington special tonight and it was by far the best we have ever had. This is our fifth visit and every dish we have tried, always something different, has been outstanding. Don't be fooled by the strip mall style exterior as the place is inviting, warm and cozy.
