Permitieron que entrarán a robar hace varios años y yo tenía que pagar el florero y la lápida que se robaron de mi hermana cuando eso ta estaba pago y para colmo ya no abren los domingos es un cementerio malo, mejor está el del municipio de San Juan y tan caro este. read more

Viernes 2 de febrero de 2024 me tocó escribir sobre este lugar por la muerte y entierro de un amigo joven de 31 años. Este cementerio es enorme y está localizado al lado del cementerio Nacional. Incredibly this cemetery is closed on Sundays, the day that most people choose to visit to pay respect to their loved ones. The company that administers this cemetery and many others on the island must be held accountable for this travesty. read more

Absolutely terrible experience, avoid at all costs! You'll find a lot of "Sunday close" reviews here, but take a closer look at the ones about customer service and you'll see why this is the last place you'd want your family to deal with during such a difficult and painful moment. The office may look pretty, and the video is nice, but past that, the service is horrendous. My mother-in-law paid for a pantheon for herself, her husband and his mom, and even paid for the name inscription and updates, but they were never done!! When she passed away, we had to jump through hoops to bury her in the place she had already paid for herself. To make matters worse, we found out a day before the funeral that my father-in-law's body was missing. They tried to blame it on my mother-in-law, saying she didn't do the paperwork, but we later found evidence that she had done it three times, but hey never did it. To top it all off, they refused to bury my mother-in-law (and held her body hostage) until my wife completed all the government paperwork again. We had to reschedule the funeral, which caused a lot of problems for our elderly family who had already made plans to travel from a few hours away to attend. The worst part is that the manager is a coward, who refused to talk to us directly and hid behind the salesperson/employees, who were embarrassed of having to relate his messages/refusals. They even broke the stone slab and placed a temporary one, and when we visited the grave the next day, someone else's name was on it (imagine the pain on wife to see that level of disrespect). They said they would replace it, but when I asked for something in writing, the manager again refused to come out and talk to me directly, and simply said they don't give anything in writing. This place is an absolute disgrace and I would not recommend it to anyone. read more

Built during the episcopate of Monsignor James P. Davis, Cementerio Porta Coeli was founded on June 2, 1953. At that time, the cemetery belonged to the Archdiocese of San Juan, which later sold it to Mr. Santiago Jal\xe1is around 1981.
