Every single person we have encountered with Arvest has been genuine, sincere, knowledgeable and gracious. Maybe I have just had the 'Luck O the (Welsh)' with the select team that handled us. I don't know, but they've served our every need. Although Arvest is a large bank, it isn't a mega bank, like Chase, Bank of America. It is actually a locally 'hatched' financial institution with roots from the Sam Walton tree. My thanks to and hats off to Arvest and their team.

There seems to be nobody with authority to discuss this further or appeal the decision. I suppose it is since the bank was acquired by Farmers & Merchants that this kind of behavior has come to be. I'm also annoyed by their conversion of some branches to ATM and video teller only. I now would have to drive a long way to get some of the services that are not available from the machines. And, whatever the heading says, I'm in Fayetteville, not in San Francisco.

Touting itself as a small town bank is its truth, but in BofF's case, "small town" means more short sighted and inflexible. Sure, it is super easy to deposit your money, but if you want to take it out, there are hurdles to jump and fees to pay. If you want information, don't go to a branch and don't try calling - you'll have to go the the main branch on the square, pay to park, and hope you get answers. Good luck. As for their website, it is clunky and certainly doesn't make banking easier. Do yourself a favor and find a friendlier bank. Bank of Fayetteville is set in its "old ways" and can't see they are headed for a nursing home.

I know of a case in which a person lost their loved one and they were the POD ...BUT the bank stated they read an obituary and determined she had siblings which is not true. The money has been sitting in this account for almost 18 months because they will not pay it out based on THEIR belief of something they have no legal way of determining in the first place. Everyone just beware they may use this or any other means to keep your money from your or try to force you to pay thousands of dollars for legal work that is not necessary. Just beware and take your money to a national bank.

I mean they fix their error once it's brought to their attention. But no apology. And not-friendly attitude. I've asked to have this branch manager call me to return my calls, but have never heard back from her. Multiple times. I guess everyone there is just working for a paycheck.
