Friendship United…read moreMethodist Church of Newton NC Hwy 16 has the most hateful and disrespectful secretary named Nancy and the treasurer I don't know what her name is but they are down right hateful and rude. I am disabled and my husband is also so we needed a little bit of help with rent last so I called the church in May 2023. The secretary informed me that the treasurer would see if they have helped before and get back to me, well I called 2 times in May and the secretary tells me she doesn't know what to tell me with an attitude so I said thanks have a blessed day she hung up and said nothing more but I was still talking to her! This is June 6th 2023 and I called the church this morning and asked a simple question about the rent to see if they ever sent the check out because my landlord said she never got a call or a check mind you they never called me back in May to tell me anything and this morning when I asked the secretary and the treasurer both screamed at me because they couldn't tell me the date they sent it out. If you are the church treasurer you will know the date and be able to look back at records if you're telling the truth about sending the check out. I explained that I had death in my family and I had been in the hospital and had lost some of my memory due to almost dying and I explained that I was going through all this stuff at one time and they continued to scream and talk rude. I'm very religious grew up in the church and I'm 47 and I know church people don't suppose to act like that I was almost in tears after the call but I still said calmly you ladies have a blessed day and the secretary yelled I'm very busy and I have explained it to you 3 times what else do you want I can't say it any plainer. Wow this is not what church or helping people in need is about. I will be speaking with the pastor who she claims is out of town. With people like that in church why would anyone want to attend any of the services. This church needs people who care about others and not themselves. I have to have another surgery on my kidneys and it's a major surgery and I need the help and I have kids and I can't afford to get put out on the streets with my husband and me disabled so a person in that situation needs help not somebody making them feel low like they're begging for help if a person can help someone do it with love not because you have to. The pastor needs to get different people in the office and a better nicer secretary and treasurer I'm black and they treated me like a dog and dirt under their feet and they're always like that but just to certain people of color. The world is so sad. God we need you more and more . Please keep my family and me in prayer. Thanks and God bless you all.
