Absolutely disappointed. The one star could change in the future if scheduling and follow-up on prescriptions could get squared-away to match the care you get from the physician! Came in for a 10am appointment with Elyshia Ward and didn't get called until 10:45. The nurse informed me that while they may have told me the appointment was 10a it was 10:15 but that doesn't excuse the extended wait when you have a job to keep and window of time to get back to work. There should be a common courtesy when scheduling. If I'm that late coming to my appointment, they'll cancel and charge a rescheduling fee...however, my time is just as valuable. Eyishia is knowledgeable and seemly got right to the bottom of the trouble, however, I wouldn't know because i'm now in days six and still don't have my prescriptions called in. The nurse said they were calling in the prescriptions to Loudoun Pharmacy in Leeburg, Virginia, this would take the hassle out of my life because it would be mailed to my home within 2 days. I was to call the number that evening to insure they had the appropriate address. I called and each time was put into a long hold and loop until it switched to voicemail. I left messages for three days and finally called back to Carolina Derm for APRN Ward to just put the script in at CVS like I asked in the first place. I was put into voicemail and waited all day but did not receive a return call, the script was not called in and office was closed when I called back. On the fourth day, the pharmacy in VA called and said they had only one script and no info from the derm office about me so they had not processed and it was great to hear from me....REALLY? I said forget it. I need both and can't wait another week. I called the Derm office and left another voicemail for the nurseto call both prescriptions in to my local CVS and I would go pick them up but to please call me and let me know she did it. It's now day 5, no meds, no call and condition has taken over. Sadly, no one is in office this weekend so back to bed for me as I can't go out in the cold weather with this cracked bleeding face to celebrate my birthday in pain this weekend. Very sad. I thought coming to this office instead of continuing to receive subpar care at the Veterans Hospital might for once get this chronic issue solved and was so very hopeful. Seems I was sorely mistaken. Wishing this wasn't the case. I gave it an honest week before reviewing. You should be aware going in and maybe you can prevent this by refusing this home service pharmacy for one and knowing in advance you're going to have longer wait times so buffer time to get back to work. This place is a joke. They do not care about people. Cindy is the rudest and most careless person I have ever had to deal with in the healthcare industry, she obviously is heartless. After waiting over a month for an appointment, they cancelled it two days before the date. I then had to attempt to reach them for another month. I left multiple messages and finally got in touch and Cindy tells me I'll have to wait two more months. When I explained that I had been waiting, she rudely stated that I had cancelled the appointment. I told her that she was wrong and that they had cancelled. My doctor referred me to Central Carolina Dermatology because of a skin growth on my hand in late July. They called me a few days later to schedule my appointment and told me the first available appointment was at the end of October. I told her that my doctor was concerned it was cancerous, was there a wait list for cancellations I could be placed on? Or anything earlier. I was told quite rudely, "October, take it or leave it". I asked my primary physician for another referral. I have no idea the quality of the Doctors here, but I'll refer everyone I know elsewhere because of the terrible phone staff. read more

Completed unhappy with my visit yesterday with Dr. Carlin Hollar in Lexington. Other family members have seen Dr. Migliardi with great success, but she basically repeated back what I told her and wrote me an "instruction" sheet with question marks all over it of the reasons I suggested it could be. What good does that do me? She gave me a prescription for Hydrocortisone cream (that I've been using without success for a month) and never said what the issue was. She said it could be swelling, but I am not swollen in my legs at all. I wasted $80 and was totally unhappy with the entire process. I will not be going back there. I went to a dermatologist because they are supposed to be "the best" with rashes, etc. What a disappointment. And I'm still itching like crazy. :-( If you have to use her, pass! read more

The worst most unorganized place EVER!!!! The whole place needs to be shut down I was a patient there when I change my insurance I had to change my dermatologist... I call to have my records faxed to me to take to my new doctor and they sent me somebody else's records then when I called to let them know of their mistake and to see if they can send me my records all of a sudden they were unable to find my chart how do you have My chart at 11 and then can't find it at 1:30pm.... bad business read more

Worst place ever!!! No customer service, staff is rude as well as the doctor. I as well as my husband have had to use this location and each encounter progressively got worse. Heaven forbid you run a few minutes late for an appointment they will make you reschedule, even though they will make you wait in the lobby, then back in the room for as long as they choose. They do not care that they waste your time or make you miss work for the appointments as long as they can do as they please and charge your insurance. This place is horrible!!! They are ALWAYS running late and after having to wait six months to even get an appointment you don't want to wait any longer in the waiting room. I had an 11 am appt with Dr. Hollar for a procedure to remove some cysts. I was there 5 mins early. I sat IN THE WAITING room for an HOUR! No one told me anything about them running behind. I could have waited in my car instead of being exposed to so many people with possible covid symptoms. How are you an hour behind when you've only been open for three hours??? Then when it came time to get my stitches out, I saw a nurse. She removed two stitches from one of my incisions and I TOLD her I thought there were three. She said no just two. TWO WEEKS later, I found the stitch I told her was there to begin with.....IN MY HEAD! My husband had to remove it. He said it looked a bit like puss. So I went back to the dermatologist, got the same rude nurse that was supposed to have taken it out to begin with. She said there's nothing there. I said yes because my HUSBAND already removed it. Just wanted to make sure nothing was left under the skin. She brought in the doctor (but before entering, told the doctor there was no stitch there....like you can't hear them talking outside the door). As soon as he walked through the door I said there's no stitch there because my HUSBAND removed it!!! Bottom line......don't go here if you want good service and definitely don't go here if you want quick service. Even the front desk and check out women are rude and kind of hateful. None said thank you or even sorry for your troubles. Oh, and that doesn't include the fact that they are SUPPOSED to open at 8 am and I called and got the "we're closed" message until 8:05 am. THEN I was put on hold for 10 mins before anyone ever answered my call. Poor excuse for customer service. I gave this office a 3 because it indicates a mediocre experience, not lousy, not good, just mediocre. If you are as old as i am and ever wondered what happened to the Stepford wives after the movie was done, I can tell you. Their clones were sent to be staff employees at almost every doctor's office you will the misfortune of going to today. Let me say up front that Dr. Smith had a good bed side manner and was competent and professional during my appointment. If his were the only experience I had this would have been a five star review. However since he and his peer group seem intent on creating staffs devoid of feelings or interest in the patients or their jobs, they need to suffer the consequences. To start with there is no longer any person sitting down with you to review your medical history and possibly eliciting some important forgotten fact that might affect your treatment. That is now sent to you as a homework assignment and woe be onto the errant patient who arrives with out it being complete. You would probably immediately be sent to time out to finish it. The person who took my insurance cards and driver's license to copy for their records could have phoned it in. I'm sure someone is working on a robot where you just put these things in a slot to copy and then hand them back to you. Probably save the docs a lot of money in the process. Of note the office had the standard assortment of back issue magazines, all women's. I often wonder why they never have anything of interest to men. There was also a very good presentation on the systems they use to bill you explaining in detail what your insurance pays and what and how much you be expected to fork up before you leave, just in case you may forgotten your checkbook. Missing was any information on skin care, skin conditions or how to spot melanoma. On leaving, the cashier made sure that I didn't get away with writing a check for the correct amount. How she got there I don't know since I have both Medicare and back up insurance. There is usually a process where both of these review the charges and let me know what i need to pay, but this business saved me all that anxiety. There was even a reminder on the exit door to go back and pay your bill just in case I was sharp enough to slip by her. To sum up if you like assembly line medicine, you will be happy here. If you have been around awhile and desire an office where people know you by name and really seem to care, this is not the place. There are some medical offices that still have a caring attitude but they seem to be rapidly disappearing to be replaced by such as this. I truly believe that in the near future, there will be robots with slots where you just input the information and it will tell you when it is time to see the doctor. By then we will so accustomed to the service we are getting today, we won't see any difference. This is truly a a sad turn of events. read more

I really like Dr. Smith, but his nurse in the Kernersville office has a horrible bedside manner. She always makes me feel like I am inconveniencing her, like she has no time to answer my questions. If I ask her to call in my prescription when I leave the office, (rather then have to take in a wait for a written one), she says she doesn't have time and maybe can get to it at the end of the day or tomorrow. I left a message about a follow-up medical question and she didn't return my call, just called in a new prescription and I had no idea until CVS called to tell me. When I called the office to find out if I was supposed to stop my old medicine she said I could have just asked CVS. She always seems rushed and maybe they are understaffed, but no reason to be treated like this. It's happened on several occasions and I am considering switching doctors because of his nurse. read more

I called to make an appointment and the person on the other end of the phone was not cordial. At no point did she ask "How are you?". I said "I'm calling to make an appt. I'm a new patient."... Pause... "what's your insurance?" and the interrogation, Err.. I mean.. "questions" continued. She offered me first avail but I told her I needed a specific day/time window. She looked out a month and I said, "hmm.. What time was the one in July?". I heard her sigh and she said "I need to go back. I could've said" sorry for the inconvenience, but I chose not to because the entire conversation from beginning to end made me feel as if I was a nuisance to her. I asked for the address to enter on my phone calendar and she seemed bothered by that question too and explained everything would be in the envelope. I understand, but smile when you're scheduling patients and answering their bothersome questions. Patients can "hear" your smile and this scheduler sounded like I was bothering her. I do the same thing every day and my patients hang up thankful for my help. This is a 3 star review based solely on a 5 minute phone interaction scheduling an appointment. Let's see how the actual appt goes & I'll update review at that time. Hopefully, their medical staff is nicer and their mediocre reviews are isolated cases? read more

Outstanding Doctors at this facility. Helpful, willing to answer questions with very positive, upbeat personalities. Would not go anywhere else for any Dermatology related issues. Run on time for appointments and go out of their way to be accomodating. 5 stars all the way! read more
