After Hurricane Irma did a number on our yard knocking down trees and virtually destroying our irrigation system, we we started working with a landscape company to get it up and running. The owner of the company outright said he would have to install a completely new system which for an acre size property, would be over $10K (this after seeing he actually was subcontracting and was supposedly taking "his cut" out of it). That's when we decided to get a second opinion. In steps Central Irrigation. We had read several positive reviews for this company on a neighborhood app. The same day, Carlos, the owner, came to the house to look at our system. We asked how much a new one would cost. After looking at the system, he said it made sense to first get the pump up and working and then step by step see what may not be working and that despite the fact that our house was built in the 70's there may still be things that work. He also mentioned that the University of Florida was offering a rebate on the replacement of the old mechanical timers such as the one we had and that he would email us the information. He also said that he has his own people do the work rather than subcontracting out. As expected, there were several things wrong with our system, one of which being our well had gone bad and a new one needed to be dug. Throughout the process, Carlos kept us informed of what was going to be done and when. He looked at each step of the process to see if things could be up and running before deciding to take another step. He did what he said, when he said he would do it. The best part is that with the UF rebate, the project came in a little more than half of what the landscaping company was estimating.
