When the package came it really made me wonder what their standards were. Only one item looked decent and that was the goatsbeard. The package was the plants tucked into brown paper envelopes, stacked on top of each other. The two Solomon Seals did not look good at all, two others were pretty much dead. Two trilliums looked half dead and squished. I contacted them and they said to give them a bit and plant them right away. I want to add that shipping had not taken long after they mailed it, a couple of days. I had potted them literally an hour after getting them. I'm not a novice, I'm a Master Gardener and Native Plant Advisor. I gave them more than two weeks. The two nearly dead finished dying. One of the Solomon's was still looking terrible. The other had put up a new shoot. The Trilliums continued to die down but I'm hoping next year they come back. I contacted them and after jumping through hoops I got some of my money back. I will never buy from them again. The biggest annoyance was their excuse that plants don't ship well. I told them that maybe they should not offer to ship plants. I've ordered plants from Holland and England that for the most part didn't have any issues. I'm sure a couple of states away should be doable.

The greenhouses were warm compared to the windy spring day outside. They had a bunch of garden and indoor decor/trinkets in the front of the shop. The staff were very friendly. The greenhouses could use a bit more organization but the pricing was just right. The selection was different then other local greenhouses we've been too. However we found the rows of plants got to be a bit repetitive after awhile. We managed to snag a few clearance plants and a large spider plant with a ton of babies hanging off of it. The girls really are talented with flower arranging, and deliver those arrangements to the surrounding areas. In May, Memorial Day orders are taken for urns, baskets, and graveside planting for the cemeteries in the surrounding towns (something I have fond memories of helping with). If that's something you like to do yourself, there is a large selection of annuals and perennials, as well as ornamental, fruit, and other trees. The greenhouses also offer succulent plans and ferns, vines, and ivy. With a wealth of knowledge handed down through generations, the friendly staff are eager and able to answer any of your gardening questions. They also have a fairly active Facebook page!

You will not be treated well, if they decide you have not been loyal enough to buy every single piece of equipment through them, which we happened to have done for about 15 years, until now, when we purchased a replacement pump online and needed to have it connected. Scheduled an appointment for service, but had to cancel ahead of time, because one of the parts has not arrived in time (more on that below). Was told by the service manager to call back when the parts arrived, all very friendly-like. Did so (this is all within a span of a week), and was rescheduled by someone else at the office. Made sure to ask that they give me a call if there was a change of plans.... Nobody showed on the day of an appointment, and when I called back, I was told that no appointment was on the books, and that anyway I was a low priority customer because I did not buy my latest pump from them, and that I would have to wait for about 3 weeks before they would consider coming out, as there were more valued customers ahead of me. No apology for the screw up (I had to take half a day off work). None. Instead, Brian, the service manager, argued that the problem was with me cancelling the first appointment (quite a turn around from the all so nice "no problem at all, call us back when the part comes in"), and said that they don't really want to do work anyway if some of the equipment was not purchased through them (the first time this was brought up during the whole ordeal). Amazing. That part I was waiting for? It is a gasket for the multi-valve that Pooltech "rebuilt" for me two years ago, except that it continued leaking onto the pump and killed it in the end. I went online and after a few minutes figured out that Pooltech probably did not replace the spider gasket (and that turned out to be the case), and their whole "this is all that can be done to fix the leaking; you will need to buy a whole new multivalve" was bogus. Just wanted to sell me the new valve, I guess. Anyway, I will never go back to these folks, and would suggest that you avoid the future aggravation and build your relationship with another outfit instead.
