CPB, with all the changes to online and mobile banking where is merchant information for pending transactions?
    Shy K.

I absolutely love Central Pacific Bank. The changes to their branches and most importantly their mobile technology supersedes any bank in Hawaii. Especially with the new checking account they have to offer, the Shaka account. With promises of enhanced direct deposit from your employer. The only concern that I have which would be an opportunity for Central Pacific Bank is the pending transactions. The merchant information is not visible on the pending transactions. On the mobile app it shows certain transactions double posting. To not view the merchant information on your pending transactions is very cumbersome. With all the updates that CPB invested in mobile technology why overlook such a small detail? Also why are transactions showing up more than once while pending? CPB if you are looking to stay on the forefront of technology and banking in general then I suggest you take a look at the little details, stated above. Almost all banks with the exception of FHB shows pending transaction information once not twice. Hopefully you have a resolved to this oversight. My second concern which would be another opportunity for CPB is why are we not able to arrange accounts via mobile banking? First and foremost I love the separation between the checking and savings. However, my exceptional checking shows up on the bottom of the list. I have multiple checking accounts for household budgeting. I would like the opportunity to arrange them according to my liking. We are able to arrange the third-party accounts that we link but not our CPB accounts. Thank you very much for updating the mobile deposit feature. We are now able to see our most recent mobile deposits. That update was much needed. Looking forward to your response and fix on these matters.

Very nice crew here. They are quick and friendly and not too busy for a town location which I like.

Bank of Hawaii has long been loved as a major, and local, bank in Hawaii…read more I have been using FHB, another major bank in Hawaii, and I recently started using Bank of Hawaii. Compared to the bank I have been using for many years, the personal banker conditions are slightly looser, and you can easily consult about finance and trust. Also, there are a few Japanese people working as personal bankers, so it's reassuring. Of course, I'm used to FHB, which I've been using right after I moved to Hawaii, so I want to use both banks in the future. What I like about Bank of Hawaii is the Hawaiian-like lobby atmosphere. You can pass waiting time without getting bored because you can enjoy the interesting exhibitions and videos on display. It is not uncommon to see bankers with hair accessories such as hibiscus. When they say "Aloha" after concluding my business, I can't help but smile and return Aloha. I hope that you will continue to provide services that are typical of a local bank in Hawaii.

Writing this to commend Maria in safe deposit box area who assisted me today…read more To save us both time she asked whether my safe deposit box has always been here or was transferred from Chinatown branch. She then chose a huge folder and was able to find mine within seconds. Need to fill out a little form with name, date, box number and signature. Show ID and she asked if I needed a private room which I did not this time. Walked across tiny bridge into vault and did our double turnkey dance, then she asked if I wanted her to lift the box out for me and I happily said yes since it's kinda heavy. Maria set it on the table and told me to take my time. When pau, I replaced the box, took out my key and upon departure she asked if I needed parking validation. I asked how long was it for because I was going to run to Starbucks to get a coffee first and she said it's good for up to 2 hours max. That is nice to know in case I need to do other banking or grab coffee at Starbucks or lunch next time. She wished me a good day with a smile Mahalo Maria!

I opened a Hawaiiusa account a long time ago because they were doing a promotion for teachers. I like that they offer things for teachers. This branch particularly has very nice tellers. The line can sometimes get long, but the tellers are fast and they're so friendly. They all seem to enjoy working here. I like the parking lot. I've never had to wait for a space. I don't have to pull a ticket like at the other downtown Hawaiiusa location, and I don't have to walk so far from my car to get to the doors like at the Ward location. I've never had issues with keeping my money here. I use the online site to check balances and transfer to other accounts. It's been a 10/10 experience using this bank and I would prefer to come to this location as opposed to all the other locations any day. They even have popcorn sometimes. I love popcorn.

They had me set up micro transfers from them AND TO THEM AND IT STILL WOULDN'T TRANSFER. After 5 days of waiting for the multiple micro transfers and completing every thing they told me the transfer couldn't be done because of a 5k$ limit. Even the app creates difficulties when adding external accounts. It has a needless requirement for you to log in with a pc AFTER a secondary password text. The options I was given for a transfer over 5k was to spend 40$ for a bank wire or spend MORE time figuring out where to mail a cashiers check. I am taking option 3 and closing the account tomorrow for free. I wish I closed the account sooner and not wasted a week of time. I am positive I will be spending less time overall opening an account elsewhere with a more progressive bank.

Ms Moniz kept me in the loop the entire process, and continued to provide updates without me having to reach out and ask for a status. I also want to shoutout the kapolei branch as they were super quick, kind and helpful with providing me the form I needed. The ownership of the mistake and the thorough communication and correction afterwards speaks volumes of the leadership team and completely turned my experience around.

DO NOT PUT YOUR MONEY HERE. 15 OUT OF 37 ARE ONE STAR REVIEWS…read more I don't need a rep to contact or respond to this review. The only satisfactory solution is to change banks because aloha pacific credit union is broken. Reading all the one star reviews makes me know I am not the only one who thinks aloha pacific sucks hard. I've been at this bank over thirty years and it has changed for the worse. Every bad review is warranted. if you do ANYTHING more complicated than direct deposit and writing checks then you should find another bank. getting money in is easy but getting it out is challenging. I have asked to speak with a manager twice and been denied both times. The last straw was yesterday 5/6/26 when I was told the manager was too busy to talk to me. I asked to have them call me when they had time as I have no idea when they do what they do and I'm free for a call all day. I was told that they would not be available to call at all. Sounds like the only way I can be comfortable dependably transferring money from my account is to close and move the account to a new bank. I won't even get into them not allowing me to deposit an endorsed check or any of the other things that went wrong in the last 8 years or so. Way too many inexperienced tellers. It looks like a high turnover rate because there is always new tellers. What kind of financial institution doesn't allow members of 30 years speak to a manager about a high dollar transfer out of my account? Can anyone recommend a good bank that is friendly and responsive to the account holders needs? I need the opposite of what I get at aloha pacific credit union.

Credit Union services in Honolulu, Hawaii…read more.. Want free checks? May I suggest Hawaii Central Federal Credit Union! I originally opened an account at their booth at the Filipino Community Center when I was there on 5-4-24 for a Yelp Event (Celebrating Asian Pacific Islander Heritage Month). I saw the purple umbrella, purple tote bag, and purple pen! I was sold! It was free to open accounts! There's a $1 minimum for checking and $25 minimum for savings. The nice staff told me that I could get temporary checks at the King Street location. (I've passed by many times. It's on the right side of the street, before and across from Straub Clinic.) I finally got a chance to visit and get temporary checks! Four checks were printed up right on the spot! I made a cash deposit, so I have some money in my account! Easy! There's a free parking lot in the front of the building. Inside, the purple furniture, air-conditioning, and clean environment is much appreciated! I might bring my cousin here to open an account. You don't need to be an employee of any company to join this Credit Union. It's open to any resident of O'ahu!

I've been a long standing customer of HCFCU since 1995. That's commitment. I've established my kids…read moresavings account at the time of birth! Have been a committed customer when I opened a loan through their branch. Granted the fact their business is not feasible to most employed customers with regular working hours, any individual would have to take a special trip to bank at their facility since they are only open Monday - Friday 8AM - 4:30PM, Fridays at 5PM. What bank does that with no weekend services as well. They don't have 24 hours teller services. But I've accustom myself to it because I didn't want to judge so quickly. There have been a few great moments, SOME tellers are okay. It still doesn't justify that their Manager sits right behind the tellers and doesn't acknowledge customers AT ALL! Countless of times I've walked in, she's been at that location over 10 years... NOT ONE HELLO! HOW ARE YOU DOING? Yes, customer service is 2nd rate! Reason for my review is, they've started accommodating mobile banking. Which I thought it was wonderful. I don't have to make a special trip to bank or mail my check to the branch, I can FREELY do my banking by mobile. I had one check where it was address to me & my husband. I assume since my name is on the check it's okay to endorse it and cash it into my account. There were few instances where it was rejected due to not endorsed correctly, but it was accepted okay and I was able to divvy up the money to both of my kids account. Another check comes around address to me & my husband again and this time they flag it, advised it's been rejected because my husband's name is not on the account. He would need to endorse and bring proof of ID and give authorization to deposit the check into my account. It's the IRS check from the government providing funds to the Stimulus program. They treated it like I was depositing a Million Dollars into the account. They advise the first deposit it was a glitch in their system. Do you know how many glitches I had to encounter with their branch and no apologies whatsoever! Just take my business and money, but loyalty is out the door! Although it's also address to me, I'm still not able to deposit. No instruction at time of mobile deposits, no honor system for being a longstanding customer of their Institution, no free pass for this one time service. There is no justification to keeping great customer relationships, especially when i arrived back to their branch and indicated I wanted to close my account. No recourse to apologize, just OKAY! So So in essence, I want an institution that would fight for me, ensure that I am a valid customer, and would go above and beyond to service me. My husband told me it was the right thing to do and leave. He wholeheartedly believed that his own institution treats him with great loyalty and he's ecstatic I'm switching over. Please note: you are nothing but a number. You are never a great customer in their eyes, because you don't yield enough revenue for their company. Their customer service is never ever great. They have teller turn overs constantly. (I should know, I've witness few new faces over the course of the years). You are basically a VOTE which you did not freely give into their Board of Members. Your VOTE is their gain. But hey who cares if they lose customers, like myself, cause they get recognition by using Social Media Influencers who provide content for their advertisements. Ask yourself, will they ever get 5 star review? I mean their list is pretty short. I had very big plans to stay afloat with HCFCU. This was serendipity to connect with their competitors.
