I went in person three times and had multiple video consultations. My ear mildly improved but was still not healed. I went to my dermatologist who promptly took a culture and a few days later I was diagnosed with shingles. It's odd to me why none of the practitioners at One Medical did not think of running this one simple test. Due to that fact, I ended up incurring expensive medical bills. When I reached out to discuss this issue, I got no response initially and then finally someone responded back after I followed up with them. Ultimately, they thought that my medical care was adequate. The customer service was so surprising because I've been a client of theirs for many years. Back in the day, their practice was predominantly doctors and now all you can see are nurse practitioners. I'm not disrespecting nurses but I would expect a practice to actually have more doctors who would be more knowledgeable and understand the types of test that needs to be run.

When I spoke to Labcorp, they told me the bill was because the office incorrectly entered the order and did not submit the required pre authorization, so now I was being charged the full out of pocket amount. I've called One Medical 10+ times over 6 weeks to resolve the issue and each time I've been told they're working on it and they'd get back to me soon but no one has ever called back, shared an update or made any progress. Unfortunately due to the error of this location I currently owe a several hundred dollar bill that should have been covered. I've been told it's in the hands of this location manager but they also have not communicated anything to me or shared any update.

Only come here if you have lots of money and are prepared for their billing to be messed up and stick you with out of pocket fees.

But they are not…read more They messaged us on the day of our scheduled annual physical to let us know that we can't get lab work done during the appointment because their lab closes around the appointment time, and I will have to come in another time to just get my lab works done. How could they not know this earlier and reach out to reschedule? They just expect me to take time off again during a work week to come in? This is very unprofessional, and disrespectful of anyone's time, especially during a work week. I chose the membership because I wanted a more efficient way to see doctors but they made it harder and more difficult than just any traditional doctor's office out there. On the phone with an administrative assistant, complained about the situation and asked to speak with someone about cancelling the membership. She did not even try to keep me as a member at all, and didn't even bother to let me speak anyone. All I knew was my membership is canceled and I will get the refund. Let's see how far this type of operation and attitude can take you. Funny thing is, there are just so many doctors office out there to choose from.

I am writing this review now because I have been to see 2 other Drs regarding my right foot over the past year & both looked @ my left foot & could not believe my left ankle was fused.....until they saw my Xrays. So if you want a perfect surgery ( he even made sure I could wear 1" heels w/the fusion)......and one that has lasted almost 20 yrs....go see Dr Rose. Dr. Rose entered the X-ray room and adjusted my leg in a position which I was no longer screaming and the technician was able to take clear images. When he examined my knee he immediately saw them felt the amount of fluid that was causing me grave pain so he provided me with lidocaine first then withdrew 40ccs of blood from my knee! Insane! Instant relief and a better knee brace that helped stabilize me more.

Over that time, I became grateful for their accessibility, either through tele-health or on the phone; the ability to actually schedule an appointment less than two months out; and the human conversations I was able to have with my principal care provider. But... since the Amazon takeover, my experience has soured greatly. About 5 or 6 years ago, I had begun to notice that providers seemed to be under more pressure to see more patients in less time. I attributed it to the network's growing popularity. But now, post-Amazon, all legacy phone numbers for individual offices now flow into a national system where nobody answers. After 20+ minutes of waiting, you usually end up with the only option of leaving a message and hoping someone calls you back within a day, or just hanging up. Only the most determined person gets to speak with a human being. And worst of all... the list of insurance plans which they do not accept has become (according to the one person I spoke with) "shockingly long." Of course, my plan is now one of them. So I cancelled my membership. And within seconds, my access to the app was shut off. One Medical, it seems, is quick to transact, but reticent to serve. I used to be a strong advocate for One Medical. And it's a tragedy what they've become. I certainly hope they either return to their previous state of service, or that a competitor fills this space.

I thought Dr. Patel was thorough and kind. I feel like she took time to ask questions and listened attentively. Appt didn't feel rushed at all. Highly recommend.
