Had an incident in Homer and first tried the Urgent Care in neighboring Soldotna only to be turned away due to their capacity 3.5 hours before their listed closing time. Drove 10 miles to Central Peninsula Urgent Care in Kenai. I was checked in and being seen by staff within 15 minutes. The nurse, Rochelle, and Richard Combs, PA-C, were excellent. Combs' diagnostic ability and knowledge of the skeletomuscular system was unmatched. He prescribed not what I thought I needed but what the symptoms warranted and I had significant pain relief in 3-4 hours after taking the medication. His notes from the visit were more thorough and detailed than any notes that have been written on my charts in a long time. When I follow up with my medical team in Texas when I get back, I feel like I have a clearer course forward. read more

I got Covid while on vacation, and came to this urgent care to get an antiviral. When I arrived, there were no lines and the doctor saw me right away. They also take insurance, so I only had to pay a small copayment. The doctor explained the pros and cons of the antiviral, and after that I picked it up in the nearby Safeway Pharmacy. I visited this new facility because appointments are not needed to see an MD. I had a skin irritation on my lower leg that was not responding to cortizone cream or over the counter anti-fungal cream. The doctor confirmed that it was a fungal infection and prescribed a Rx for a bit stronger medication. Total time for my visit was about 1-hr. This clinic was much more convenient, and much faster, than trying to see my dermatologist via an appointment. I will never go back here again. The first time I went, the doctor was okay. She didn't really seem to know what she was doing. It was kind of a hit or miss situation. But I went back, like I was told to, for a refill on pain medication. And she absolutely refused to give me any. I didn't even have a chance to talk to her about what was going on. She adopted a very nasty attitude and point blank stated she will not give me more pain meds. She belittled my injury. The friend that was with me almost lost it on her. read more

I have never felt more shamed or riduculed at a place. I came in for a illness and was told to leave my service dog, who has been thru 3 different certification training programs and I need for balance, in the car because the owner, Jeoff, didn't think it was a real service dog. All because he walked up on me in the waiting room, where me and the dog had been sitting patiently for 5 minutes, and my dog stood up to sniff his feet. He said it 'jumped up'. Well, yeah, to sniff you, it didn't jump on you, it didn't bark or bite, it was sniffing you dude. He then said "Hospital's up the street, have a good day". I left in tears so confused. I'm a homeless, disabled veteran and he denied me urgent medical care. He made me feel horrible and broke several laws regarding ADA. Seriously considering reporting him to the state. read more
