Had some email communication ahead of calling them to replace locks on new house. Showed up on time a few days later with a lock I didn't pick out, beyond the color (black), but didn't mind how it looked; it was fine. Replaced the lock and was charged OVER DOUBLE the price ($380). The locksmith was very nice but the work was done, so what was I going to do? I told him I was quoted closer to $200 and he said I had been communicating with his mom, and it was her call. Also, black locks were more expensive, apparently. I will take responsibility for not confirming the amount before the work was being done but I felt totally taken advantage of. The process of moving is stressful (and expensive!) as it is. Was very happy to call a small, family owned business but this was a terrible feeling and was completely price gouged. When he was done, I went to the car to test the keys, 1 NEW key had a microcracked shell. I asked him to fix it and was told there are no more shells available, he will get new shell and fix it for me next week, no charge, no problem. Called him next week and no luck, Then sets up another appointment for Friday after next and he fixed the problem on a Sunday, gave us another new key with a shell. I live several hours from my parents and I called AM&PM at 10pm tonight because my parents contacted me that they were locked out of their house as the tumbler to their front door lock was broken. Within 30-40 mins of my call to AM&PM, the locksmith, Shay Ankori, was at their house, had the old tumbler out and a new lock and key installed. I also asked them not to charge my parents but that I would pay for the work and they were very accommodating and sent me a Venmo link for payment as I didn't want my parents going to an ATM late at night for cash.
