Home of Cantab Lounge, H Mart, Supreme Liquors, two boxing gyms, Middle East, Brookline Cafe, Central Kitchen, Phoenix Landing Bar, Plenty of Banks an ATMs, a 7-11, a couple hardware stores on both ends, Bike Shops, Hubway station, dedicated bike lanes, many hair salons, barber shops, a Micky Dees, Salvation Army Headquarters, dance studio, A local Theatre group, Chepos records, Dunkin Donuts, several fitness clubs, Indian restaurants, a Police Station, T Stop, Starbuck, Star Market, Several Sushi Spots, a Vegetarian Deli, and soon to be 24 hour Clove, and many more.... Parking options on back streets are convenient. Central Square has it all.

It's central square it's where you'll see the same people asking for money daily, although in different clothes everytime. See the die hard football fans queueing up at 8am for a big match outside of the Phoenix Landing. See the hipsters heading to either the Middle East or TT the Bears to catch a show. And see the endless masses of people waiting for the bus. There's a reason Central square doesn't feature in films about Boston.

Ask the Community - Central Square

Hi. I'm moving from London to Boston/Cambridge. We want to be central to city life and access to good public transportation and public schools. Is this a good /safe area to live with a young family? We are looking at Church Corner apartments?

For the most part Central Square has gentrified for the better. While other suburbs nearby might have better schooling but you get access to the city and the Boston area is very close by. In terms of schooling, sites like Redfin can give you…

I've been randomly coming to the Faneuil Hall Marketplace ever since I was a kid. I couldn't tell…read moreyou what I ate here on my first trip with my parents before my first ever Boston Red Sox game in the mid 90's, but I do know that I had a blast coming here and seeing all the different food stands and random vendors lined below the building. I was able to return here for lunch a few weeks back in 2026 and I had just as much fun walking around now then I did back then. The place was packed on a Saturday afternoon and a whole lot of people were trying to get some seafood, pizza, ice cream, baked goods, Italian, and various other things and it was cool to see this place still so lively so many years later. Now, I'll be honest here, the food I ate kind of sucked but that's just one of the vendors fault, not the entire hall so I'm still going to give this place five stars. The building itself is stunning and is one of the original buildings in the area (If i'm not mistaken) and has a long hall of different food vendors, seating upstairs, and some restaurants downstairs as well as mall kiosk like shops (get rid of the crappy temu vendors, please). Overall, There's like 50 different places you could eat at that will give you drastically different experiences, so why not come as much as you can given the opportunity. This trip was my first time in about 7 years and even though the food I got was not good, I don't regret coming back to Faneuil Hall and I will absolutely be coming back on my next trip to Boston.

Full of local and tourists. All sorts of fun shops, local talent and food. We started one end of the strip and worked out way through the area. It's a fun place to find your Boston merch, local food options and vibes. My daughter and I had a great time meeting people. Shopping for gifts to bring home. And just breathing in the Boston air. I'm happy we got to check this place out.
