With its antiquated style of font on the facade, Centre Fillings is a gutsy and fairly simplistic, centrally located sandwich shop. As part of a Leeds-based chain, I consider the shop to have retained the characteristics of old fashioned venues of its kind.
On copious occasions, I have stocked up on provisions for my journeys up to the North-East when on the way to the station, through the affluent business district. Although the competition in the area is of a magnificent standard in the form of Sesame and Philpotts, Centre Fillings offers a range of sandwiches with a vastly superior monetary value.
I have arranged a corporate event using the buffet service at this Yorkshire sandwich empire. We ordered a selection of food which incorporated cheese and pineapple on a stick, scotch eggs and vol-au-vents to accompany the customary sandwiches. What the spread lacked in gastronomic finesse, it certainly made up for in value. It provided a beguiling type of nostalgia for the customers, and was generally well received.
