But you- Eastland library are absolutely phenomenal. being a year 12 student I spend most of my weeknights here, often alone of accompanied with a study pal, we can both genuinely say that we have never been to a better place to concentrate and really knuckle down. Being self diagnosed with ADHD I find my mind wandering whilst trying with utmost persistence to concentrate, this usually happens in the classroom as I have my peers to distract me and also at home where I can easily trick myself into taking short breaks to eat or play on my DS. This doesn't happen at the Ringwood library. The feng Shui is honestly remarkable, I get hella good vibes whenever I'm here and being a pisces I am very intuitive and a little bit psychic. The homely study nook spaces, sleek, modern Australian design with Scandinavian elements through the furnishings of the 3 storied library feature numerous couches, tables both with and without computers and make for the perfect space to get some proper work done. Being inside this library fills my child body with genuine joy, such a calming environment, I almost forget that there are crackhead eshays just opposite this wondrous work of architecture, by the station picking up cigarette buts from the floor and yelling obscenities at the elderly. Thank you whole heartedly to the City of Maroondah, i am forever in debt to you for giving me such a magical learning space.

Snuggle in to one of the comfy couches in the window with a good book/magazine/newspaper and let the hours drain away. I recommend it when you are hungover.

Like most local…read morelibraries, it seems to be jam packed with children having sing-a-longs whenever you need to do quiet study, but if you're just there for a casual browse at fiction it is deadly quiet. The range of fiction is okay, with a particular emphasis on Australian authors. The local history section is the only non-fiction section I ever use, and I rate it for a small library, although if you want access to archived newspapers or other historic documents you're better off heading into the State Library of Victoria. If it's current newspapers you're after, the Carlton Library gets a decent amount of Chinese and European language news - it's definitely the most popular section in the mornings, but it's a pity the readers can't bring their coffees in!

Bobby's used to be a club back in the 90's, but now operates simply as a function and event space. I was lucky enough to attend a function here and I won't be forgetting it in a hurry. The venue is set up as a small but very bright town of a bygone era with a sunken dance-floor in the centre. Around the outside area are different 'stalls with each 'stall' acting as a different bar including; a Beach bar, a diner, an automotive repair joint and even Roxy Nightclub. Confusing, yeah? Check out the website to get a better grasp of what I'm trying to say! Capacity is around 500 which is perfect for that big function you're holding. The staff are fantastic and incredibly helpful, they'll make your event extra special even offering dancers on podiums (the cool kind, not the skanky kind) and other little extras can be added to this already extraordinary venue. Like I said, I can't explain Bobby's well enough to give it the glory it deserves, it really is something you have to see for yourself.

I completed all three jumps very nervous each time. However having complete trust in the guys definitely helped. I then bought my husband a voucher for xmas to go rap jumping at the You Yangs. Lee contacted us prior to our booked date and suggested Straughton Vale as we'd done it before we may enjoy Straughton Vale more as its a little more challenging. Loved it. Never in a million years did I think I would be saying I want to learn how to rock climb, abseil or rap jump again. But I can't wait to do it again with the two Lees. Safety is key and these guys made sure we were safe at all times. Thank you

Rap Jumping is the company that offers the activity of abseiling face first down a building. I was…read morerecently given 2 gift vouchers to do this and I had an exhilarating time that I will never forget. The building they usual abseil is the 'Urban Central Accommodation' that can often be seen from the freeway. When we arrive we were addressed about safety and a brief history of the activity and the company. The group then goes upstairs to the roof to get ready for the jump. We were fitted with helmets, harnesses and gloves (pick the thickest glove possible). When it was my turn to go, I stepped up onto the edge of this 8-story building- and the instructor pretty much pushed me (nicely) over the edge. My first time going down was quite hard as it is against gravity to be 90degrees and horizontal. My butt kept scraping the wall because I couldn't get my body to go face first. When I was finally doing it right it was lots of fun, you use your feet to bounce off the wall and your grip of the rope alters how fast you go down. There is a second instructor at the bottom (ground level), who is there to assist and help you get down. Overall we each got to jump around 3-4times, the scariest bit was always going over the ledge- it's just like jumping off a building. Get the thickest gloves possible as my partner (and some of the other guests) got pretty bad rope burn.
