Not only is this a great beauty salon to get your haircut and any other beauty need such as nails or waxing but they rock at styling. The hair dressers specialize in creating spectacular hair dos for important events - but especially known by many for their work with brides and bridal parties. They did my friends wedding as well as the wedding party and we were amazed! As soon as we walked in they made sure we had a place to sit and were offered all different types of treats to assure we were comfortable and having a good time. We were even allowed to open up a bottle of champagne to enjoy while getting our hair done. The bride got her hair done with an amazing braid and flowers intermittently place - absolutely beautiful! I think they are especially good at achieving the hairstyles you only see in fashion magazines. Another great thing about this salon is that if you are unhappy with any look (hey, sometimes it happens) you have 7 days to say you weren't happy and get another hairstyle done. If you want to come with a group of friends like we did, make sure to call and reserve in advance as this hip salon gets booked fast! It is not cheap but definitely worth it for special events.

The salon is located in a beautiful historic building in the busy downtown of the commune of Providencia. For security reasons, the front door to the salon is locked and you have to be buzzed in (this is common in Chile). The owner who is also a stylist seemed very knowledgeable. They provide many different beauty services but specialize in hair color, I think. (That is what I got done.) They also seem to have a lot of business doing eyelash extensions, as I saw at least 2 different clients getting them while I was there. When I first didn't like the tone of my hair color, the particular stylist I had was not pleased and consulted the owner. (Or maybe that stylist just does not have the best bedside manner.) The owner came and fixed my hair color herself, demonstrating that she is an active, hands-on owner. The price was reasonable and exactly what they quoted me when I made my appointment, and no one gave me a hard time about paying with my credit card. I will definitely return but might try a different stylist.

We visited the Jumbo grocery store on the bottom floor for all our basic needs. They have a wide selection of American brand stores like GAP, old navy & Starbucks and also their own department stores like Ripley (similar to a Macys). This mall does have a small souvenir kiosk on the very bottom floor where we found key chains and magnets. Other than that there were no other stores we could find that sold Chile souvenirs. The restrooms were clean also. At the food court area, the workers would wipe the tables and empty the full trash bins. They were working efficiently. No matter your budget, you can find something reasonable. For Uber, the pick up spot is near the Hard Rock Cafe entrance.

This is a huge mall in the newer part of Santiago. We stayed in the old part so it's several metro…read morestops away and about 3 miles. Took and uber there and walked back - the walk is not boring as you are on big streets and there's always something to see be it restaurants, shops or parks. The mall has 6 levels and the top is the viewing deck. We gave that a pass as it costs close to $20/pp and overhead views are just overrated. You can see the view of the city when you fly in and out of Santiago and also from Santa Lucia Hill closer to the old part of town and is free (although not as high up). Anyway it's interesting to see the contrast of the newer richer part of town in comparison with the old part. Otherwise the mall just has some huge supermarkets, mostly clothing stores and a very expansive food court with the familiar fast food chains and restaurants. We ended up having a late lunch at Crepe Cafe which is not bad (the food, some staff not so much). The food court has a lot of seating including outdoors although in the afternoon it's sunny on the terrace so can be very hot in summer But would be great in winter.
