Bahia Utopica features the best artists of Valparaiso: painters, sculpturers, photographs... They also organize regularly exhibitions at their own gallery and at hotels, cultural centers, etc. I purchased a couple of paintings at their gallery (one in 2008, the second one this year) and would do it more often if I had the money to do so. By the way, the owner speaks French, German, and a bit of English.

There's an eclectic collection of trinkets at this location just like at his prior house, but this house seems more spacious. There's a garden outside and it even overlooks into the city. The views are beautiful. That said, once again - you are given an audio tour. Languages available are English, Spanish, and Portuguese. The entire tour lasts around an hour. It seems this house, along with La Chascona, weren't his favorites though. That honor belongs to the house in Isla Negra, the one I didn't get to visit. You're allowed to take photos but only of the exterior. There's also a gift shop and plenty of bathrooms. Definitely worthy of checking out.

What a sight both inside and out!…read more THE AMBIANCE: La Sebastiana is located in a courtyard with a balcony that overlooks the harbor, gift shop, cultural center, and small library. When you go inside, the first floor has a room with a television streaming videos of the famous poet Pablo Neruda and the life he lived. This is his five (5) story house and the views of the harbor from the different floors and the items inside (art, furniture, etc.) are AMAZING! Pablo Neruda used to watch the fireworks from his house. You walk up each story and admire all the interesting things it has to offer. On the floor that has his dining and living room area, there is a really neat bar. Honestly, the whole house has a bunch of treasures and is a must see. You are not allowed to take photographs other than outside the windows but people sneak a picture here and there. A guard walks around. THE TIPS: Opening hours are Tues-Sunday 10:30am-6:50pm in Jan & Feb and Tues-Sunday 10:10am-6pm Mar-Dec.

I found this museum by mistake. This museum offers 40 art murals that were creates by 70 artists,…read morelocals and internationals. It's about 4,000 m2 of art. The walls where the murals were painted are the residential walls of apartment projects. All murals are maintained in excellent conditions, also the fact this museum is located in San Miguel, a neighborhood that is not a "turtists"center is even more interesting to visit. You will be amazed by the power these walls make you feel. When you are in front of them seeing them with your own eyes you understand how important is to promote art in low income neighborhoods, this museum is a jewel hidden in SanMiguel and I strongly recommend you as a tourist and locals to visit them and appreciate this hard work.
