She is my go to person whenever I need that last minute wax. Super reliable, professional and somehow makes getting a Brazilian wax a fun experience (even with all the pain, hehe). Her salon is super small but has everything you could want, relaxing music, comfortable, and most important super clean. When getting a wax in Chile I have found that most salons will reuse their wax on multiple clients, something I just do not see as sterile in anyway, shape or form. Gabriela is one of the few who DOES NOT follow this practice, which I personally really appreciate. She offers a variety of massage, facials, and waxes. One of my favorites has to be Mimo's hair salon in Bellas Artes. You'll get a nice, relatively affordable trim at this funky locale-- not to mention have a good laugh with the fun Argentine owner in the process. The loosely-run business may not put efficiency at the heart of its business plan, but the personalized attention, electro music and constant chatter will win you over. Not only are the cuts great, but Miguel really knows his way around a highlights brush. Walk-ins are welcome, just remember to ask for Miguel, the owner - he won't let you down!

I only go here to get trims, so I can't comment on how they fare with crazy cuts or colors. The main reason I like Palumbo is because they treat you well, listen to what you want and it is the same treatment no matter which salon you go to - very similar to a Great Clips in the states. The one recommendation I have, is that you tell them very clearly what exactly it is you want - don't leave it up to their creativity. Also, I have learned that in Chile they love using the thinning tool - make sure (from the start) you say you don't want it used on you and if you see them taking something out of their tool belt that doesn't look like scissors, say it again just to be sure. I like the experience here and the prices are very reasonable. When they wash your hair they give you a massage and they always offer you something to drink. A great salon experience for great prices. I definitely recommend going to any one of their salons. From my experience, I believe the ones more in the centro (financial district) are more male-focused so if you want some stylists with a bit more flare go to a salon in providencia or in a mall. This place has three barbers, all dudes, who listen to the best music and watch videos on a big TV mounted in the barbershop. It is the kind of place that a guy would want to get their haircut, instead of going to their wife's stylist. The haircut was great the shave was on point, with great attention to detail. Jose used a razor to detail the cut on the sides and the back of the neck. The shop back in the states would only use a machine. I would go back in a heartbeat and highly recommend this place to anyone in the area.

This is a large salon by Chilean standards, and one of few that specialize in nails. Sometimes it is very busy and you need an appointment. Other times I think you can just walk-in. The salon is located on a corner in the busy downtown of the commune of Providencia. The entire facade of the salon is glass so you can see the street. The owner sits at the front desk. She is not bad, but she could smile more and be a little friendlier! I had the same nail technician do my nails both times (not by request). But I was happy with her service and her friendly attitude the first time, so I am glad I had her again. My nails looked great both times. I asked her how long she had been working there because she looks so young, but apparently she has been there 2 years. I love that they use an electric callous-shaver on your feet. I have My one complaint is that (to my surprise) they charged me the same price for my manicure as my pedicure. I got a foot soak, lotion massage, and callous shave with my pedicure and not even a soak with my manicure, so I am confused as to why it costs just as much. This is the first time I have ever seen a salon charge the same price for a manicure as a pedicure. The price was reasonable and no one gave me a hard time about paying with my credit card. I will definitely return (unless I find somewhere better or closer to me).
