Locals are very nice and accommodating. Upon arrival we rented a golf cart to navigate around the island however they do also rent Jeeps and there are also taxicab drivers on hand Must see and do when in Puerto Rico

I've been coming to Culebra since I was a kid. It's one of my favorite places. This is a place to leave tour worries and stresses behind and relax. There is lots to do and nothing to do, depending on what are looking for. There are several places to stay in or near town, and also removed and secluded. There are a couple of good restaurants, bars, shops, and grocery stores. Most people speak English as well as Spanish. And they are friendly and laid back, so be patient and chill. This is a great place for family vacation, fun with friends, and romantic getaways. I suggest renting a vehicle, jeep or go-cart (not sure they still rent scooters), to be able to get around easier and enjoy the island better. Visit several beaches. They differ. Some are better for relaxing, others for snorkelling/diving, or surfing. If you don't have a boat you can hire a water taxi or charter a private boat to get you to islands like Cayo Luis Peña or Culebrita, OR maybe Dakiti, or any other hard to get to by land places. There are several businesses that offer snorkeling/diving rentals and tours, kayaking, etc... There are two ways to get here: boat or plane. If you don't have a private boat you can take the ferry from Ceiba. It is cheap but may be stressful trying to get a ticket and/or deal with the port authority employees. Flying is faster and less stressful but more expensive. If you fly, I suggest Air Flamenco or Vieques Airlink. They fly out of Isla Grande Airport in San Juan (near the T-Mobile District) or from Ceiba. Ceiba is cheaper and faster but you need a vehicle to drive all the way to Ceiba. I don't recommend flying from SJU. Too stressful, unless you are already in the airport. Cape Air also flies to Culebra, and in any case you can't get a reservation anywhere you can fly with Taxi Aereo. Either choice you make will be worth it in the end... unless fate has damned to have a bad time... in that case there is nothing you can do but order a Bushwacker, Painkiller, or beer and get wasted.

We grabbed a taxi van and he ended up serving as a tour guide to us, which he was happy to do. He took us to a few different places with pleasure. At the last stop he had picked up his son and drove us around with no problem. I really loved he was so personable. In Vieques you see horses all around, which was so beautiful; we really enjoyed that. We went to two beaches. We loved the second one, which was Playa Caracas. The sand was so white, and soft. The water waves were calm and warm. We had so much fun and made some friends while in the water. We ended up trading up drinks. If you go to Vieques and need transportation contact Yo-Yo's Taxi US DOT 3914032. Phone number 787-585-9560, he is the best of the best.
