San Carlos is a private club and as one would expect the facilities are very nice. I've only used…read morethe golf course, the Hoye 19, and the locker room so I'll limit my review to those.
The course is very well kept with super fast greens that are well guarded with multiple large sand traps. There are 3 or 4 water features that also come into play on the holes they feature. The course is spread out through a residential neighborhood that requires somewhat long walks to get from one hole to the next. The turn is placed some distance from the club so there is a snack bar with daily lunch features available for purchase.
The locker rooms are exceptional. Large steam rooms, saunas, shower facilities, and large wooden lockers. The wet areas are all finished in beautiful polished stone from floor to ceiling with sky lights throughout.
The only down side I can note is the typical Mexican red-tape that seems to only benefit the administration of the club that makes those from non-Latin countries just roll their eyes and shake their heads. But outside of this minor inconvenience I thoroughly enjoy my visits to San Carlos.
