    Rude, short, faceless, shady, don't keep their buildings up to code, will purposefully withhold information from you, overpriced, and unhelpful. Literally have to contact a lawyer soon because they refuse to put in writing what we owe them and what our conversation was. Why not put something in writing unless you've something to hide? There is exactly no excuse to refuse to put a debt and the resolution we are taking to pay it in writing. "I told you on the phone" is absolutely no excuse and no way to do business. UPDATE: their lawyer just cursed at me and threatened me. I have most of the conversation recorded. By the way, you probably don't want to ride their elevator.

    Lived at one of their buildings at 1548 W Juneway for 5 years. While there, the cost of rent increased to a point where it was not worth the apartment we were staying in, which was on the third (top) floor of the courtyard building. We were able to find a much nicer quality apartment not far from this one, so be sure that if you rent with them, you are getting what the apartment is actually worth. The grounds were well kept, but I suspect that wasn't on the Property Management company and the work of the building manager, who lives on site. He was always friendly and good to deal with, however, there were some times when getting work done took longer than it should. The company doesn't use any sort of online portal or ticketing program, so anytime we needed something updated, we texted or called the building manager directly, and given that this was a large courtyard building, I imagine that he was inundated with requests and had a lot to deal with. The reason I leave this review, however, is mainly the state of the building. Our apartment had so many mouseholes you never knew where they were coming from. Traps and plugging them didn't help since I suspect there were more than even we knew about. Also, so many roaches and centipedes. I know this is somewhat to be expected from an older building, but at the rate they were there, the company should have hired an exterminator. The apartment was on the third floor, which was the top of the building and there was severe water damage to the drywall. Water would seep down and the plaster would crack off into powder, getting everywhere. One day I woke up to brown water seeping down onto my bedside table, damaging it, from the top molding from above a window. This water damage, the cracking drywall in particular, was an ongoing issue. One time it rained so bad that the property manager had to bring in people to redo an entire section of the wall. However it kept raining and a week after the new stuff was there, it happened AGAIN because the root problem, lack of good drainage from the roof, was not sufficiently completed. The building we were in is run off of radiator heat, which is fine. That is, if the radiators turn off. Out of the 6 radiators in the apartment, only 3 would reliably turn on and off. This left one of the bedrooms and the living room area absolutely sweltering in the middle of the winter when the radiators were on, which there were many times that they were not. When we reported this to management, we were told there was nothing they could do. Many of the windows in our unit were not airtight. I had to put duct tape over the gaps in the window above my bed because in the summer, the gaps were so large, I would have bugs coming in from outside. The individual apartments in this building do not have access to the breaker box, so if a fuse is tripped, which is easy to do due to the circuiting, we would have to wait for the building manager to flip our power back on for us because the breaker box is behind a locked door. This left us many times without power, largely in the middle of the night in the summer which left us uncomfortable because we could not reach the person who could turn our power back on. The one laundry room, shared by the whole complex, was wholly unreliable. I lost so many quarters in those machines because sometimes they just wouldn't work. One time, in the middle of the winter, I had to carry an entire laundry hamper of wet clothes across the courtyard and back up to my apartment in the middle of the winter because the washing machine turned off, or was unplugged by someone, in the middle of the cycle. Parts of the ceiling fell in in two of the bedrooms. They were fixed by management, but not completely or properly. Also, animals get in the ceiling somehow. I heard so much running around, digging and fighting just above the ceilings. Many of the outlets in the apartment were very loose as well, which is a danger. When we moved out, we were paying $1445 per month for this apartment, which is ABSOLUTELY not worth what you are getting. We moved and found a newly refurbished apartment for $1350/month that was MILES nicer than this place. If you are looking for a place to live, trust me, you can find something nicer for cheaper than this place. Also, if the rent is lower on signing, it will be increased very unreasonably with no updates being made to the apartment. Not worth your time or money. Find a better place to live than something owned by these people.

    Been here my second year. Was going to upgrade to four star because they have my repairs done…read morerelatively fat. However, no matter who I talk with still get this unwelcoming, I am wasting their time of I owe their money feeling. This really creates an emotional stress on me whenever I need to talk with them. And I was never late on rent or anything. One more thing I need to mention is the free parking mentioned in the original post I searched was not technically guaranteed. In my building its first come first served and you know what that mean during street cleaning or snow days. I wish they have options for paid assigned parking. For months, I have repeatedly provided documentation, followed up by email, and requested confirmation that my account would be corrected. Instead, I have been met with silence, delays, and a complete lack of accountability while incorrect charges continue to sit on my account. No tenant should have to spend months chasing property management to fix a straightforward billing issue. It's exhausting, unnecessarily stressful, and creates an environment where you feel ignored rather than supported. At this point, the issue is no longer the original error--it's the refusal to communicate and resolve it. Property management should be competent enough to handle basic accounting corrections, respond to resident concerns, and follow through on commitments. None of that has happened here. I pay my rent on time and have done everything asked of me. In return, I've had to repeatedly fight to have an obvious mistake corrected while being forced to wonder whether my rent payments are even being applied correctly. This entire experience has demonstrated a level of incompetence and indifference that I would expect from neither a professional management company nor anyone entrusted with residents' homes. If you're considering renting here, understand that when something goes wrong, getting a simple issue resolved may become a months-long battle. This doesn't even touch on the hostility of the property manager that comes to on-site.
