Dong-Ding Oolong Tea with Fresh milk was smooth tasting, sweet and creamy. Delicious. Whereas the Formosa Fruit Tea (寶島經典水果茶) was a black tea base packed with teeny pineapple bits, a bit of passion fruit seeds, paper thin slices of apples and citrus. I was in Scarborough. I felt like a drink. I saw that a regular phoenix oolong lemon tea was $3 off on Fantuan at Jo's Cha. Yes! I decided to upgrade to a large. I got this drink with less sugar and less ice, as I wasn't sure how tart the lemon part of this drink would be. I also added coconut jelly. The app said that it would take twenty minutes for my drink to be made. I arrived at this plaza at around 8 pm. It was busy around the eateries. Luckily, I found parking next to Jo's Cha. My drink was ready much sooner than anticipated. It took ten minutes. I got out of my vehicle and headed inside the store. I liked the cheerful mascot. There were a few people waiting for their orders. There isn't a dedicated place to pick up your order. I waited patiently at the order area. A nice man behind the counter said hi. I reciprocated and showed him my Fantuan order. He nodded. My drink was in front of both of us. He asked me if I needed a bag. I declined, as I was going to drink it as I drove home. I thanked him and headed to my car. This drink was so good. I love oolong tea. The less sugar was perfect because there were a lot of lemon wedges floating at the top of my drink. The coconut jelly was in cubes and not all that sweet. It was refreshing, cold, and exactly what I needed. This place is known for mixing veggies with fruit. The tapioca is both black and clear pearls. While they both were cooked well, the black is slightly firmer than the white, there was actually no flavor to either. Both the white and black tapioca had no sweetness or any taste, pretty much just dough balls. Summary: Try the tea but pass on the tapioca.

Living in small town USA, I am definitely not used to this fancy or "elevated" bubble tea. The Strawberry milk tea almost drank like a smoothie than a milk tea, but it was just what I was looking for. Rich, sweet and slightly sour...it was the perfect after dinner dessert drink. My wife's 3Q was more of a classic milk tea, with 3 different types of toppings (boba, coffee jelly and noodle jelly). The different textures made the drink quite enjoyable as well. I will definitely be back.
