I didn't know and drove in a nice circle. ;_; My friend and I were looking for a restaurant in Brea to visit on a Thursday night and settled on Cha Cha's Latin Kitchen. We arrived later in the evening around 8pm, and seating was fairly quick. We were offered indoors and outdoors and settled on indoors. It was quite noisy / loud at night, and it was an easily resolvable issue and our fault, so it would be unfair for it to negatively affect the review. I was split between the Three Enchiladas and Ultimate Fajita Fiesta and eventually settled on the latter while my friend ordered the former. Our dinner begin with a simple tortilla chips and salsa appetizer. The chips tasted fresh, and the salsa was tasty. I'm glad I wasn't hangry and left room for my entree. The Ultimate Fajita Fiesta began with a nice Mexican Caesar Salad. The salad was perfectly dressed, and it was one of the few times that I can admit was not overdressed to the point where it felt like drinking directly from the condiment bottle. Briefly after the salad, I received my Fajita Fiesta, and it was quite a generous portion of food. The presentation did not look overwhelming, but four disassembled fajitas with condiments and beans was quite a bit of food. I was barely able to finish, and throughout the night, I really couldn't find anything that could have been improved other than the level of noise and a water refill, both of which were inconsequential or easy fixes for the dining experience. read more

I've known of Cha Cha's but did not know they had all day happy hour on Sunday-Thursday. Whatttt?! The last time I was here was over 10 years ago so this was a nice change. Stopped by on a Wednesday evening. On top of their happy hour menu, they also had a Wednesday special. 50% off enchiladas so of course my entire table ordered it. The combo came with 1 cheese, 1 chicken and 1 crab/shrimp. Served with rice and beans. I enjoyed each one but the crab/shrimp was the best. All for only $12 (after 50%). Their drink specials were $1 off beer and $2-3 off cocktails and margaritas. They also provided chips and salsa but the chips were way too salty. So I was in the Brea area yesterday and decided to stop by this spot for some lunch! I got seated right away and ordered the Steak Tacos from the lunch menu. The waitress Gabby was very helpful and she brought some chips & salsa for the table. The tacos took about 15 minutes to arrive, the plate also came with beans and spanish rice. My girlfriend had mentioned that she has been here a couple of times and wanted to take me here. She was raving about how good it was and I'm glad she took me. Our server was cool and he made some great recommendations. We started off with chips and salsa. Staple at a Mexican restaurant but the chips and salsa were amazing. Freshly made. My girlfriend and I shared a mango margarita. Great drink to start off the night, a bit pricey but you will get your money's worth but the size. I ordered the shrimp enchiladas! The presentation was everything. It was really good. The green salsa was delicious.. Also I wanted to mention that i've had plenty of Mexican rice in my life time, but I think the way it was made was the best I've had. On top of that experience, I think they do buy one get one free entree once a week. So we ended up also getting the seafood soup. I was able to a try a little bit of it. Went to Cha Cha's Latin Kitchen for a get together with my friends. Highly recommend getting reservations as the restaurant can get packed. I made reservations via Open Table, but heads up that you can only reserve up to 4 that way. The front staff was very helpful when I had to increase my headcount to 5 and we only had to wait for a few minutes. We took advantage of the Taco Tuesday special and what I liked is that you can mix up the tacos to order. They have happy hour as well, but FYI, you have to be in the right section of the restaurant to take advantage of the happy hour specials. Lots of menu items to select from if you wanted something else other than tacos. Our server was attentive and the restaurant staff all worked well together to deliver our food and drink orders. Second time coming here and it was good but last night me and my 2 friends went in we had the steak nachos and calamari. This morning I woke up sick didn't think much of it but it got increasingly worse. I messaged my friends and they also were sick so something we ordered made us sick definitely feels like food poisoning I know there isn't anything they can do about it just wanted them to be aware. It's not a cheap restaurant and it's alot to pay especially when you throw in getting sick. So the manager laughed and didn't believe we got sick and replied no one else has complained. And no we did not eat anywhere else or anything else together we had dinner at Cha Cha we all shared and we all got the same sickness since the manager assumed we must have gotten sick somewhere else. My boyfriend and I have been here 4-5 times and almost always have an amazing experience. The food is always AMAZING and delicious. The restaurant is quite loud but would be great for big gatherings. We usually receive fairly good service, but recently we have been feeling pretty neglected by the waiters. To be fair, we came in during a busy time, but there were times we were waiting over 30mins just to ask for the check or get our order taken. The most recent time we went him we waited over 30mins after asking for our check and didnt even receive it, so we left more than enough cash + tip and left on our own. Had a work lunch at Cha Cha's and they were amazing. They quickly accommodated our party of 8-9 with attentive, efficient service. We were seated outside, so I couldn't assess the feel of the interior. There was complimentary guacamole and chips that kept us satiated while we waited for our orders. It was refreshing and addicting to eat. We all got our food at the same time, which was great. None of us had to go through the sad experience of seeing others start eating their meal while you wait for yours to arrive. I got the fresh seafood caldo. It was sooooo good and flavorful. Back by popular demand! I came to Cha Cha's after a very long time, and the food and service was excellent. We arrived at 5 p.m. on Friday, which was perfect timing, because the restaurant got crowded very quickly within 15-30 minutes. The drinks and food were very delicious. We ordered the shrimp and steak fajitas. One thing to note: To my surprise, the fajitas are not displayed on the menu, but you can still order the dish, despite it not being on the menu. The shrimp and steak were cooked very well. Additionally, the drinks are crafted well. I ordered the Mango Habanero margarita which had the perfect amount of kick to it. The service was very prompt. I'm truly confused at the raving reviews of this place! I didn't have a particularly negative experience, but I was just super underwhelmed. Okay let me start by saying I'm thoroughly concerned about the hygiene of this place. So I go into the bathroom to wash my hands & the water is SCORCHING hot. There's even a sign/ sticker that says the water is scorching hot. It's so hot that the 2 people before me didn't wash their hands. They have a sanitizer dispenser, sure. But hand sanitizer does not substitute washing your hands. So then I started getting grossed out imagining how the employees wash their hands? Do they sub sanitizer as well?? Okay now onto the real review-- the super underwhelming food. We order the ceviche sampler & it was just... bad. We never not finish our ceviche but it was warmish & the tuna just didn't taste fresh. The shrimp was okay, tasted more like a salsa with random pieces of shrimp. Then I got the 3 tacos: short rib, fish, and carnitas. The short rib was good but way too much tortilla, so little filling. The carnitas were standard, a lil greasy but hey, theyre carnitas after all. The fish was just bad. Had an off putting taste. I don't want to say rancid, but it was close. My partner got the sampler enchilada. I tried the crab one and it was actually good. He said the other two were fine. Maybe this place has good reviews for their service & drinks? Service was fast & they were nice. I've deduced that the people who like this place are probably mostly not Mexican. It's also kinda pricey-- probably paid around $80 including beers. I don't recommend this place for a birthday celebration. It was our first time coming here, and personally I wouldn't come back. Food was mid, I've had better Mexican food. But if you want some local Mexican food it's decent to fulfill the craving if you have no where else to go. However, this post is to focus on the service experience. JP was our server and personally although he was friendly his service wasn't top notch. We had requested certain specifications such as less ice for my mom's drink( cup came filled 75% ice for a grande margarita & they charged double which isn't disclosed in the menu), we had ordered 2 appetizers at the initial start of our restaurant experience (only got one after we asked 3 times and he even repeated the order back before leaving the table), and just small details I noticed which I'll elaborate shortly. We received our main course meals, and then realized our other appetizer wasn't in site so we brought it up to the gentleman who brought our food out. The manager quickly came, and apologized asked if we still wanted it but at this point it was kind of late since we had our main course. Then JP came, and apologized and said he probably didn't hear us and that's what bothered me because he had repeated our order after we mentioned the appetizer 3 times. Furthermore, my dad and I had finished our meals and my mom was still working on hers. JP had the audacity to tell my mom to move her plate so he can put the flan in front of her, and I had spoke up and said she is still working on her plate. I couldn't believe the lack of common sense, and ability to realize this was quite rude. He set the flan to the side, and said he would come back to light the candle. I asked him to bring spoons cause he didn't have any in-site so I wasn't sure how we were going to enjoy the desert without utensils. Lastly, to finish off, he brought the bill, and I saw JP had charged for the flan which wasn't ever disclosed and we didn't order. We just said it was my mom's birthday. At this point I really was annoyed but he took it off the bill. I personally didn't want to even tip this individual due to the poor experience, but I did out of common courtesy. Idk about everyone else but tipping culture in America is out of hand. Servers expect tip despite their horrendous service. I think a tip should be earned. Omg, words cannot explain how much Iove this place. Everything I've had here is amazing. What's even more amazing are their weekly deals! I love me some good deals. Husband and I came on a Tuesday evening for our anniversary dinner. We found out it was happy hour so we decided to eat at the bar tables instead of the regular tables (that we had reserved). Everything from tacos, to the ahi aguachile, to the tortilla chips, to the margaritas were nothing short of delicious. I was so impressed that I brought my parents here on a Wednesday the following week to try their enchilada Wednesday. OMG the best enchiladas EVER. Service was fantastic which made our meal even better. We were offered options, choices and recommendations, and really enjoyed our time. We ordered margaritas, nibbled on chips, and two salsas.
