We came for Cha2Cha's soft opening promotion on a Saturday afternoon and were quite surprised at their empty store. After our visit, we had an idea why. Food & Drink: The promotional $5 fried food were crispy and delicious. We also enjoyed the $5 drinks with tasty flavor and chewy boba. However, the spicy ramen (mì cay) was pretty disappointing. We ordered Spicy but only got Mild soup. The ramen supposedly came with fishballs but they're no where to be found, so we paid $12 for a bowl of noodles and veggies. When asked about it, the cashier just said they're out of it. It'd have been nice if we were told that in the beginning so we could've add some proteins in the ramen. Service: From what we observed, there was only a cashier/boba maker in the front and a cook in the back. The cashier was nice and trying her best to accommodate us. She also went to the back periodically to help out with the cooking. She was so busy, we felt bad for asking to get things right. There were 3 parties coming after us and we could see the staff was struggling to fulfill their orders. If the goal is to welcome a large volume of customers, Cha2Cha needs a lot of work to do; that starts with their management. I ordered the popcorn chicken at Cha2Cha and it was a really disappointing experience. The chicken tasted extremely old, like it had been sitting around far too long before being served. The texture was dry and tough, and the flavor was stale, not juicy or freshly cooked like popcorn chicken should be. They also fried the basil, which completely ruined it. Basil is supposed to add a fresh aroma, not taste like burnt oil. It felt like there was no care in how the food was prepared. Nothing tasted fresh, and it honestly made me question how long the ingredients had been sitting there. I am surprised a restaurant would serve food like this. Is there even a manager or owner checking the quality before it goes out to customers? Basic food quality control seems to be missing.
