This was one of the saddest days I've ever gone through...The owner of Chada Thai had sold their business to a friend, and now it's Chada Thai 2.0... The recipes and taste are completely different. The prices gone up, and it's just like your ordinary Thai restaurant. She said she needed to sell the business to take care of her severely ill husband, so I can't be really mad about that. I know I can speak on behalf of many of her loyal customers who would always come here to dine, but we really miss your dishes and flavors of Thai. Chada Thai just isn't the same without you in the kitchen...

After a long night of partying, all we wanted was some Thai curry and carbs, lo and behold - Chada Thai (under new management) made our morning after delicious, warm, and gave us a nice kick. We had the cream cheese wontons, yellow curry and khao soi, and the servings are deceptively larger than you think. Flavors were exactly what we needed, and the ambiance was lovely on the inside. Lots of room for larger groups and parties. 10/10 would come again :)

Under new management. Still a solid restaurant. They trade a small break between 3:30-4:30p daily. Good was great, price was reasonable, definitely be coming back

Rock solid lunch stop. Food came out fast, like lightning fast. At first this made me question how tasty it would be but apparently they just have Superman working in the back. In fairness, we came in a little after the normal lunch rush so maybe they just weren't super busy. They have lunch options in the $12-14 range depending on your choice of protein. Tofu isn't listed as an option, but when I asked they were happy to accommodate. Hubby was pleased with the combo: chicken, beef AND shrimp. For $14? You can't cook this at home for that price. Lunches came with a salad. It's just lettuce and thinly sliced carrot, but it does come with a very tasty house dressing that has a nice thick peanut consistency. Yum! Portion sizes were great. I love Thai food so I normally polish off a lunch special no problem but I actually had leftovers after a very filling meal. The white rice even comes served in a cute little heart. An unexpected but very fun surprise. All in all this is a gem of a Thai place and I will definitely be back to try some other meal options when I'm in the area.

I visited Chada Thai and was surprised to see a banner announcing an ownership change. But if you are a regular, some of the previous staff still remain. Looking at the newly printed menus, I was told that the new chef has added dishes not previously offered. The important thing is that the items I order regularly "tastes the same".

Service was quick and friendly. I ordered pad see ew and Thai iced tea. The food came out piping hot. Pad see ew hit the spot and is recommended. The restaurant is located behind the mall of fortune with its restaurant facing the parking lot. If you enter from the other side (by 85 degrees), there is a sign directing you where to go.

We came on a Thursday afternoon around 2 pm and there was no one else there. The vibes were very small business and the service was standard. Honestly, the food was pretty basic, not the best we've had but also not inedible. It satisfied the pad see ew craving! We ordered the chicken pad see ew and pad whoon sen both of which were pretty okay. The pad see ew was on the oily side but the smokiness was really good and the noodles were really chewy. The pad whoon sen was lighter in flavor and definitely needed an extra boost from the side sauces but wasn't bad! Prices: Pad see ew - $13.95 Pad whoon sen - $13.95 Ratings: Pad see ew - 3.5/5 Pad whoon sen - 3.5/5

I am a certified avid fan of Thai Food. And Chada Thai is definitely in my top 3 if you want to experience authentic Thai cusince. Location: tucked in behind the busy plaza of Oc va Lau , you can find the restaurant if you go to the back of the Mall of Fortune (85c Cafe). . We ordered a lot of things from the menu and prices ranging from $13-$26 . Very affordable price for the authentic and high quality. This restaurant has been around for more than 10 years, so they do not miss on flavors. Recommend: Pad Thai, Pineapple fried rice, Spicy eggplAppetizer: Crying Tiger which is Marinated steak grilled. Honestly, anything you pick on the menu will tatste great! My family and friends approved this place.

A little hole-in-the-wall restaurant located at the end of a plaza. Came on a Monday afternoon and was seated right away. The staff were friendly and helpful as they offered recommendations of their popular items. The food was delicious, I especially liked the crispiness of the Golden Tofu and the refreshing taste of papaya salad. I would recommend checking this place out if you're in the area.

A go to Thai spot in my family! It is located behind 85 degree, right next to OC and lau. It's a small little shop, with very friendly workers! The food is also amazing with unbeatable prices. My go to dishes are the pad see ew, pad thai, and the fried tofu. Pad see ew had great flavor and good portions. Definitely get the fried tofu! It's very crispy on the outside and soft on the inside.

IMO: The portion sizes are a bit small for the price, but the friendly service and welcoming ambiance make up for it. I came here with a friend who's a regular, and the staff immediately recognized her, asking, "The usual?" and if I was family. The cozy and familiar vibe made the whole experience feel warm and personal.

I am very excited to share my experience at Chada Thai restaurant. I ordered the pineapple curry with shrimp. This was an explosion of flavors in my mouth with the blend of sweet pineapple and creamy coconut milk balanced with the savory curry and delicious shrimp. It did not come with any rice so I did order sticky rice on the side. This dish is supposed to be a bit spicy, but I found it to be more on the sweeter side due to the pineapple. For dessert I had to try the mango sticky rice. We were lucky enough that they had one more left. Ever since that day, I've been craving it and can't wait to go back for more. The staff there were sweet and accommodating. If you're looking for a place with delicious authentic flavors, Chada Thai is definitely worth a visit.

I ordered the tofu Pad Thai, and it was definitely not what I expected. It was overly saucy and very sweet--far from an authentic Pad Thai. It might appeal to people unfamiliar with Asian cuisine, but if you know Asian food, this will likely be disappointing. The woman at the front desk was also not very friendly. On top of that, be careful when paying: the tip options start at 20%, 22%, and 25%, which felt inappropriate given the quality of the service. In many Asian and European countries, tipping is not expected, yet the service is often excellent. Tipping should be earned, not assumed.

This Thai spot in Tustin, Manaao Thai Comfort Food, had been on my foodie list for a while ever…read moresince it opened in 2023. Not long after opening, it was featured by the LA Times / Daily Pilot, and then quickly blew up on TikTok and IG foodie circles across OC. Dinner starts at 4:30 PM, and we arrived around 4:10. Even then, people were already waiting in their cars. We walked around the plaza for a bit, but when we came back at 4:28, a line had already formed outside. They use a Yelp waitlist kiosk at the entrance, and we were already the third party in line. The restaurant has around 25+ tables, and within minutes of opening, the place filled up fast. By the time our first dish arrived, the line outside was packed. Definitely glad we came early, this place gets busy FAST. We ordered: 1. Khao Soi Noodle $28 One of the LA Times' "Best Dishes of 2023," and honestly the standout of the night. The rich yellow curry broth with coconut milk had a nice spicy kick without being overly salty. It came with crispy noodles on top, softer noodles underneath, plus crispy soft-shell crab that added great texture. The lime and diced onions on the side helped brighten everything up too. Very flavorful and worth trying, although $28 still feels a little pricey. 2. Gaeng Som (Thai Sour Curry Fish Soup) $28 A mildly sour and spicy curry fish soup with crispy fish, green papaya, daikon, carrots, and long beans. The flavor actually reminded me a bit of Korean spicy fish stew, but with stronger sourness and herbal notes. Great with rice, though again, the price feels high for the portion. 3. Thai Hainan Chicken Rice $18 This was probably the weakest dish we ordered. The chicken was very soft but lacked flavor, and the soup was pretty bland. Honestly, I prefer the Vietnamese-style chicken rice in Little Saigon more. The rice itself paired nicely with the stronger curry dishes though. 4. Thai Milk Tea $6 Less sweet than most Thai restaurants, which I really appreciated. Much more balanced and not overly sugary. Overall, Manaao feels more authentic and regional compared to many Americanized Thai restaurants in OC. The menu goes beyond the usual Pad Thai staples, and the flavors definitely have more depth. That said, prices are on the higher side, and portions aren't huge. Three dishes can easily run over $70. Still, I can see why this place became so popular. The owner apparently used to work as a web developer before starting to cook hometown Thai dishes during the pandemic, eventually opening Manaao with his wife to focus on authentic Thai comfort food. They're already expanding to Irvine Spectrum near Din Tai Fung. Out of everything we tried, the Khao Soi was definitely the must-order dish for me. Would I wait an hour for it though? Personally... probably not! Manaao Thai Comfort Food 13842 Newport Ave Unit F, Tustin, CA 92780

It is not greatly seasoned, it may taste kind of plain to some. I noticed some of the seafood was not cooked fully. I do mot recommend this. Pad Thai:This is a must try! The noodle is chewy and it is not the typical noodle used for Pad Thai. The dish is flavorful and the bean sprouts adds a great crunch. If you love peanuts, then there are some on side. Definitely recommend this. Papaya Salad: Absolutely love it. The salad is well flavored and marinated. Definitely recommend this if you're new to Thai food. I saw people ordering large party tray for papaya salad. Tom Yum Soup with seafood: Great soup option especially in the winter. The portion is seafood is great. The taste of sour and spicy balanced well together. The restaurant seems to be under-staffed. We waited for a while to be seated because the only person working in the front was helping in the back. And our Pad Thai was left out when we did make the order. Luckily the front staff was friendly and the food really made it up. This restaurant happens to be located in the same plaza as OC & Lau, so you might have to park a bit further. I definitely believe this restaurant should be more recognized. It got a great selection and the food tastes great. Of course, they should improve their staffing issues.

I came here with three friends, and even though they technically open at 11:30 AM, we showed up around 12 PM, so they were a bit late in getting things going. We ordered the wet pad Thai, the crying tiger steak, and the Thai sausage. The pad Thai was flavorful and had just the right amount of sauce, wet, but not soggy. The crying tiger steak was cooked well despite being on the thinner side, surprisingly tender, soft, and flavorful. The Thai sausage was also great, not totally sure what meat was inside, but it was delicious enough to not care. It seemed like it was pan-fried, because the outside had a crispy, bubbly texture, while the inside stayed piping hot. The interior is simple and nothing out of the ordinary, similar to most Thai spots. It's located in a strip mall, so while there's a dedicated parking lot, it's a shared space with other restaurants, which means it can fill up depending on when you go, but overall, not too bad.

The food from the photos looked amazing so we thought this would be a good place to try. We entered and it is quite small. Expect to have a bit of a wait during rush hour. Lucky for us it was just us two, and it was towards the end of lunch. The inside looked super cute and the aesthetic reminded me of the Philippines. They had these cool lanterns, and metal soda signs in Thai. Plus umbrellas below the ceiling. The menu looked really cool, like it was from a newspaper that is colored. The plates had roosters on it. I loved the ambiance for sure. We saw a couple order a few things I asked what they had ordered. One was grilled pork neck and they suggested the Tom Yum Mama Seafood soup and for dessert mango and sticky rice. I also got green thai tea for drink. We got it all mild because my spice tolerant isn't as good as it use to me, and my mom usually tolerates mild as well in regards to spice. The presentation of the food is great. The Soup was so delicious! I'll definitely order again. It had noodles, like thin ramen. The seafood was delicious with the crunchy pork. It blended so well. I love that the soup was sour and spicy. The pork neck was a bit too spicy, and so I believe they might have not prepared it mild. It was a bit difficult to eat because of it, but still really good. The mango and sticky rice is delicious as well. Perfectly made. I will definitely come back here.
