There is a dissembling nature about the store front of Chai Master. The parking lot is small and busy, and the plaza itself seems a bit rundown. Being on the corner of a busy intersection doesn't help you feel more comfortable entering or entering this little lot, either. However, upon entry, you'll find a clean, welcoming, and lovely store, full of small tables with little tap lamps on them, nice lighting, and relaxing vibes. I can see this being a popular hanging, studying, or gaming spot! They have some intense pastries on display by the counter! Even my wife's sweet tooth was shy. It would probably be best to share these with a group! We had two drinks from the menu, and we enjoyed the mango matcha. Whatever was on the bottom of the cup was challenging to mix in with the rest of the drink, and it was thick! However, after a few minutes, the drink mellows out and is actually delicious! We do not recommend the apple tea. It tasted like water with a hint of some flavouring. Not worth the cost. Chai Master can be hit or miss, depending on what you order. They have a decent assortment of drinks and pastries to choose from. Decided to get the mango matcha latte. I actually came here for the first time with a date because the café we originally wanted to go to was really packed and the line was out the door, but I am pleasantly surprised because this was a lovely experience. The matcha strawberry was great and not too sweet but the cookies were spectacular! The Oreo cookie was memorable! The Dubai Croffle was whatever in my opinion, good but not great? Sortof expensive but not as expensive as other places. I'd recommend the cookie! I will be back! There is soooo much seating inside and has nice comfy seats to get some work done or hang out with friends.(they have same games to play, like uno!) I agree with Les S. and other reviewers who point out that this great coffee/tea shop has far too few parking spaces to accommodate customers in this small plaza. I was able to squeeze into the last available spot on a weekday afternoon. Fortunately, that's the only negative. The interior is spacious and inviting. I ordered an iced Biscoff latte on this exceedingly hot day as well as a Dubai chocolate croffle. I took a seat at a comfy table and my name was called in a couple minutes. The Biscoff latte was perfect. I've been disappointed in ordering Biscoff lattes at other shops but this one proved to be made properly. I could taste the flavors of both a good latte and Biscoff cookie, the coffee being slightly predominant. I really enjoyed this drink and appreciated the judicious use of ice. I really liked the Dubai chocolate croffle too. The chocolate was the strongest flavor with the pistachio sauce being less strong. The kadayif gave it a nice crunch. I'd not had Dubai chocolate until now nor anything with kadayif (shredded, noodle-like phyllo dough). This is not a powdered chai place, this is legit brewed tea accented delicately with milk and sugar (depending on the tea) in a way that compliments and enhances the flavor. They also offer coffee, Monin syrups to flavor. Dubai strawberry cup, Karak Chai, Aden Chai, and Masala Chai are all exceptional. Atmosphere - Excellent. This is a place to come and hang out. Parking- Tight, but doable. Wish they had a curbside pickup option and I would come here more. Sustainability - A solid B+. They offer for-here mugs for hot and cold beverages. Came to Chai Masters around 7:30 PM on a Wednesday, and they close at 9, so we had some time to settle in. Right away, the staff greeted us with kindness and asked if we had any questions, which was a great start. Kenneth took our order and also made our drinks and he crushed it. The presentation was beautiful, drinks served with glass straws, which just made everything feel a little elevated. I ordered the Mint Mojito and the Taro Milk Latte, both iced. Before that, Kenneth mentioned their most popular drink was the Karak Chai, a Middle Eastern-style chai that's a bit different from the more common blends. Since it was getting late and it has caffeine, we passed on ordering it, but he was kind enough to offer a sample. That alone showed great customer service, and I appreciated the gesture. The Karak Chai had a bold, spiced flavor that wasn't too sweet, definitely different from what we're used to. I could actually see myself swapping out my usual morning matcha for it now and then. The Mint Mojito was super green, refreshing, and came garnished with a mint sprig, which was a nice touch. That said, it was really sweet. I ended up diluting it with water just to balance things out, but I could see myself enjoying it more depending on my mood. The Taro Milk Latte had that classic powdered taro vibe, which honestly gave me childhood nostalgia, so I wasn't mad at it. It was smooth and drinkable, but a bit watered down from the start, even before the ice kicked in. Some might not be into that, but I thought it was still nice overall. Parking's in a shared lot with nearby businesses, and it wasn't too hectic when I went. This place took over the former Teofilo Coffee location. It's located in a busy corner diagonally across from Los Alamitos High School. Parking lot is small and generally doesn't seem to have enough spaces to accommodate all the shops. Looks small from outside but inside is quite spacious with an elegant decor. I came here during a weekday and also on a weekend but was surprisingly empty inside on both occasions. So far I've been impressed with its pastry offerings but mixed on its drinks. With recent trend in Dubai chocolate, I couldn't help but order its Dubai croffle and cheesecake. I personally don't understand the hype but these were good regardless. I mainly tasted chocolate and didn't get much of the pistachio cream. The croffle was interesting with some crispy, flakes, which tasted like crispy shredded wheat, but I'm sure it's something else. We ordered an Iced Karak Chai and a Dubai Chocolate Croffle. The staff member was kind enough to let us try the Karak Chai and the Aden Tea (which are two of the more popular teas) before we decided which to order. Both our Chai and the Croffle came out pretty quickly. The Karak Chai was flavorful, and we can taste all the spices used in it. Having it iced made it a bit smoother than when we sampled it hot. The Croffle was good too. It was warm and crispy, but also had some chew to it. The kadayif was sprinkled on top of the croffle followed by chocolate and pistachio sauces. We liked thay the kadayif was on top of the croffle because it was still crispy and added a nice texture. Overall, giving Chai Master a 5/5. Great service, ambiance, tea, and snacks. Well, you knew I had to stop in when I drove past a Tea/coffee shop that had my name on their sign. This used to be a Philipino Coffee Shop, Tiofilo. Parking can be tight, especially when school is in session as this is across the street from the high school. So happy that they are open at 7am so I can grab a drink on my way to work. Most tea shops don't open until later, but I digress. Chai tea is their specialty, and they have 3 kinds: Masala (what people get when they get a Chai tea); Karak and Aden. I tried the Aden (Cardamine and Cinnamon Chai Blend) as a Latte and it was delicious. They also have other tea options like Persian, Moroccan and Oolong, so you know I'm coming back to try them. What is different than the popular tea shops is their choices in Sweet Treats. They have your usual croissants and cheese Danish to baclava and Dubai Cups. So happy they close at 9pm... After dinner dessert, here I come! Prices are fair, and the gentleman who helped me out this morning was friendly, professional, knowledgeable and polite. Was excited to come by when I heard they're opening the store! I love chai latte and always try out different places to find good ones because there's only a few places that specialize on chai. I'm also a huge fan of any kind of tea, so chai is one of them. I was pretty disappointed when I came because my Karak chai was pretty bland. I have stirred quiet often just in case chai is sitting at the bottom of the cup, but still no changes on the flavor, no spice flavor that I was expecting, just like warm milk. Hopefully, they will improve though, I will still come one more time to try out other drinks because they sound interesting. they are pretty quick making my drink. Today I had a very unpleasant experience at this establishment. I arrived around 8 PM and, from the beginning, the service was extremely poor. The person who attended me was not friendly at any moment. In addition, she put all my desserts "to go" inside my coffee, completely ruining both orders. They also never brought the food to our table, even though that's how it was supposed to be served. I ordered a Turkish coffee and she brought it to me in a to-go cup, without proper presentation and without the characteristic taste of a real Turkish coffee. The experience was so bad that we didn't eat anything; we left all the food untouched and walked out immediately. We had initially left a five-dollar tip, but we took it back because the service did not deserve it. Best pistachio latte in Los Angeles hands down! I loved their Dubai croffle but their best thing here has to be the pistachio latte due to its texture and taste. I'm going to guess they added the Dubai kanefa(sp?) inside to make it have some subtle crunchy texture and real vanilla beans to make the latte smooth and delicious.
