My husband and I stayed here for two nights this summer and the experience was AWFUL. We could both…read moremove past how dingy and outdated the hotel was, we knew it was a good deal for a place as expensive as Gstaad. However, the woman who worked there made our experience truly awful. It started when my husband asked her for suggestions on where to rent a bike. She replied, shortly, "the train station". Later, I asked a man who worked there if he had another recommendation. At this point, the woman came bolting into the conversation saying "Just go to the train station!". I explained that we didn't expect her to have the answer of the best place to rent bikes, we were just looking at all of our options. The next morning, we went down to breakfast. I asked her for some coffee (patrons have to ask- it's not independent available) and she said OK and made it. We noticed that, as everyone else in the hotel came down to breakfast, she greeted them and offered them coffee. The day before at breakfast, she asked that we leave our used plates on their bar. So, on this day I cleaned up our table and brought the dishes to the bar. A few minutes later she came to the door of the dining room and YELLED at me across the room "Don't do that! Just leave your dishes!". Additionally, I asked her to fill up a large water bottle I had. She was unhelpful and suggested I do it in the sink.
This woman, owner, employee, whatever, was nothing but rude towards my husband and I, often singling us out and making the hotel experience truly horrific. Don't ever go here, unless you hear they are under new management!
