Has gone seriously downhill…read more
We were here two years prior and enjoyed the beautiful surroundings, excellent food, good accommodations and service that we chose to come back for our honeymoon. WHAT A DISAPPOINTMENT. The garden is still beautiful but the rooms were small, with worn out chairs, half full bottle of water, coffee cups with rings ( the bathroom was renovated and great). There is no help anywhere except a sweet but overwhelmed receptionist. We had to drag our luggage across the whole property and up three flights of stairs. Breakfast was ridiculous. Set up once and not replenished. They ran out of bread, eggs, and pretty much everything else and no one to ask except the receptionist. Even figuring out the coffee machine was a chore, and I am an engineer. Better get there first. The restaurant by the pool is beautiful, but the smell of chlorine, the apprentice servers and the pretentious food at exhorbitant prices were truly disappointing. I guess they're resting on their laurels of one Michelin star. The only thing truly enjoyable was the bike ride on an idyllic parcours at least a few miles long.
I would not recommend this place at all. It seems they're skimping on the core functions and concentrating on the glitz.
