I went with my father who does not drink, but there was a nonalcoholic option for him. At the end of the tour, he was asking where to purchase the grape juices. Inside of the caves, you are transported from Paris to a completely different world of wine and history... Make sure to watch your head, the ceilings are low. Ever room in Les Caves du Louvre were full of history and made you feel like you were eternally out of this world

I mean, we're in Paris so you gots to drink some vin, oui? The owner, Phillippe, was absolutely lovely and chatted with us about the various wines they have on tap (40!). How it works: It's a card system that is loaded with 20 Euros. You go around and put the card into the machine, pick the wine you want and the sample size. You can get just a sample, medium fill or a full glass. Once you're done drinking, hand the card to the cashier and pay the amount you drank. Most of the sample sizes cost around 1-1.5Euro. For me, this is a great way to sample a variety of wines without committing to a full glass. There is plenty of seating on the main floor as well as the lower level. Bringing some snacks and it would make for a great evening!

I was lucky enough to be seated in the first round of customers since I got there 15 minutes before seating. They do not have a reservation system and the wait can be a while after first seating since all the food come out one at a time for all groups. So think, if groups got a specific dish, they'd all get that dish and then the staff would work on the next one to serve, etc. The wine list is endless and there were so many options to try! Note: more bottles than single glasses but worth it considering the ambiance and conversations you can have! Staff is so patient and knowledgeable about the options and even let me try some before I made my decision! I tried 3 of the dishes available, the pork cheeks, the Agnolotti, and the Shrimp Toast. Everything was delicious and I still dream about that shrimp toast to this day. Wish I went with a group so we could try everything on the menu but this just means, I have to go again!
