The pictures on the walls mixed with cozy sofas and good bar stools makes it a really good place. It does get a little crowded so often you cannot get a seat, which is annoying. Also, the noise level is a little to high for a bar, I think. You cannot talk and it is not supposed to be dancing there so you kind of have to scream to each other. I had a great sunny, boozy afternoon with caviar and accoutrements (typical), boquerones (marinated anchovies - yum), and the clear restaurant star -- "Pelle Janzon" fillet of beef (carpaccio) with bleak roe, toast, yolk & red onion. My only regret is not getting the larger portion. Here's the drill - pick a sunny day, bring your shades, warmly greet the host (try a smile), sit outside, order some wine and get the beef carpaccio. We were a party of 5 and the host / server who has been there from the opening was snide, making rude comments about our order and just acting in a totally unprofessional manner. One in our party was served a absolutely cold burger. Which took 15 minutes to replace meanwhile the rest of our dishes are becoming cold. But the most outrageous part was the server chasing us out of the restaurant and arguing with us about the tip amount. All this taking place on the sidewalk in front of a pack patio full of guests. Completely abominable service.

Pass the hotel desk, elevator to 7th floor, walk to the end of the corridor, and there you have it. Its not big, fancy or actually anything particularly, but we havent got a copious number of rooftops in Stockholm or Sweden overall. Its something about rooftops, high above the trees, looking down from a perspective we arent used to. Everyone has sometime dreamt about flying, and this is as close as you get it while sipping on a cocktail or a glass of wine on Stureplan. Go here, have a drink, enjoy the view, but dont try to take off!

Lots of local Swedish beers and delicious food options to select from at this bar. You can also sit and people-watch outside when it's warm. Good location, away from all those tourists in Old Town. I do wish there were different root veggies like potatoes. I don't know much Viking history so not sure how authentic, but they did have a nice variety of options. They did have risotto for the vegetarians (sure that wasn't part of the Viking staple!). SERVICE: Loved the music. Loved the atmosphere (except for the heat). Loved how friendly and nice everyone was. Service and plating were A+. COST: It was definitely worth it for the volume of food and the experience.
