I've had many engines machined over the years. My first visit was a consultation about what I needed done. Gary was very informative and up front about what was needed and pricing. Choosing a machine shop is very important when you're doing a full build and Gary put my mind at ease. One thing that really put my mind at ease is that Gary does all of the work. He explains how he is going to do it and what processes he will use to hit the exact tolerance. Everything was spot on. Bearing clearance is one thing, but hitting a ring gap is very tricky. My block was bored, and then finish honed. The specification is .3mm to .4mm. I have included 2 pictures. One where .3 fits and one where .4 doesn't. This was consistent in all 4 cylinders. From the beginning, I was fully informed on what was going to be done and what it would cost, which was very reasonable. One more thing.... I called during the process but didn't leave a message. Had engine block bored and heads done. Pick another shop if you need quality work (work is out of specs and parts damaged/scratched/dented). Btw charges are similar to pro shops. read more

I brought a Alfa Romeo cylinder head to Gary to pressure check for a crack. He knows alfa's. He discussed ideas and options with me and we surfaced and pressure tested it. It cheched pit good.He said he would call when it was done. That was the next morning!! Price was very reasonable for the work done. I was very pleased. read more

Took a head to them because of a recommendation from another shop. They were supposed to machine it and do a valve job. Very doubtful whether or not they even did the job. 22 of the 24 valves were out of spec by a good margin. They refuse to take responsibility and fix it. Save yourself the hassle and go elsewhere. read more
