My daughter was a student at this school and i have to come write a review my baby till the day…read moretalks about the lady who grab her by her arm! when she first started the school she really enjoyed it ,she was in the 2 year old class room . when she moved over to the 3 year old classroom that's where all of the problems had begun i started getting phone calls 15 mins after i dropped her off saying she throwing chairs ect,(not true at all she never even throws things at the house when she upset or not getting her way) as well know Colonial day school states they been helping and severing children for the past 20 something years but for some reason can make adjustments or do not have affective ways of guiding our babies into the right direction! I have to say when i did go pick up my baby the teacher where all sitting on there asses or talking with the other teachers ! the way my baby is 5 and still talks about what the school did to her at 3 is really heart breaking ! i wish i called someone who could of helped me get justice for my baby ! unless you white or in the military they will make your child seem like NOTHING ! a list of everything they said my 3 year old did. run out the class room run out the school thew a chair across the room my baby has been at a different school since this horrific incident and has truly flourish she has not had any complaints on her as colonial day school put o her, she is the only child she sharing was the only thing we ever had to work on!

I had only been to NCS one other time prior to this visit for the preview production of Hurrah…read morePlayers "Honk". I can really only comment on the theater, not the school itself. However, my knowledge of the school is that it has a solid reputation. The portion of the school which houses the theater is definitely newer than the other portion of the campus. My guess is within 10 years, but this is only a guess. The parking lot and surrounding area where I parked was well maintained. Landscaping was fine, but nothing special in my opinion. Upon walking into the lobby of the theater I was immediately impressed by it's simple elegance. Not huge, but presented very well with a nice size chandelier in the lobby. There is an area to serve refreshments at intermission which worked out well later in the evening. Restrooms were adjacent to the left. I found them new, or updated unsure. They were clean, had soap and paper towels. Upon walking in the theater I was awe struck by the beauty of the venue. Seating for around 350 on red fold down chairs which proved very comfortable for the performance. Natural wood surrounds stage opening. Although the stage was not as wide as larger facilities it worked pretty good. However, the cast of "Honk" was somewhat crowded. Lighting and sound seemed appropriate the smaller theater. Again, review is NOT for the school only the theater. I really enjoyed myself and the Norfolk Collegiate School theater. Our family had a great time and really enjoyed the show too!

As an Alumni who attended all 12 years and a parent of two kids who have attended since…read morekindergarten (11 and 9 years), we use to love and be heavily involved with this school, however sadly the school has lost its way in the past five years or so and the administration at the upper school is incompetent to say the least. If you go there don't ever dare to question or advocate for your child or you'll be canceled, which is funny since we were asked to advocate on behalf of the school year end and year out. They will tell you what you want to hear, but dig deep in your research, ask around, buyer beware. They are no longer the Mighty Oaks. Oh, and they have the audacity to charge Norfolk Academy tuition levels for far fewer academic opportunities, support, and extracurricular activities for your children. We are the McCoy's and hopefully I just saved you some money.

Since the arrival of it's new director Dr. Jessica Jackson it is anything but that. Dr. Jessica has made it very clear that she is there to do a job and doesn't care about the parents. She is not easy to speak to and has a very negative attitude. I have overheard her speaking to staff as if they were beneath her and she has kicked families out for simply voicing their issues and concerns. If you don't agree with her or go over her head she will give you the boot. She has no experience in childcare and lack people skills. I've never seen her in any of the classrooms interacting with the children. A lot of families have pulled their children because of Dr. Jessica. Families that have been apart of WeeOnes for many years. The staff are simply amazing! They know all the kid's by name, greet parents in the hall, are warm, caring loving and super sweet. The staff at WeeOnes are the reason some have chosen to stay. As a parent I want to place my children where I know they will be loved and cared for by their teachers but I also want to be treated with respect and kindness by the director. Please think twice before sending your family here.

Ever since the new director came into the picture staff has been treated horribly and she has been firing staff left and right so she can have all her friends work for her. The directors reasons for firing the staff are for the most ridiculous reasons and dont add up to the staff's behavior as all the staff are great with children! Not only has the director been firing the staff but she's been kicking children out for parents who are literally one day late on a payment. The director basically kicked out my children as well. I was basically fired on maternity leave which is illegal across all 50 states and not only was I terminated but the director had violated my HIPPA rights by emails. I would really think twice before sending your children to that toxic environment.

So the outcome to my 4 year old's experience, was a expulsion not even after 2 weeks of service. The school also called and notified me of my 4 year old getting sick before this, and needed to be picked up asap. Upon my arrival, I found my 4 year old alone in his classroom, lights off, no supervision whatsoever, no toys, just sitting there in solitude, without any other supervisors in sight in the hallway or elsewhere. He was sitting in a cot, staring at the doorway I just walked into, wondering how long he was going to be in the dark alone, on a cheap cot on the floor, that they charge a ridiculous rate for to "rent". I picked him up, left the room, left the premises. His classroom teacher that should've been in there with him, just proved that due to their lack of supervision and negligence, that absolutely anybody can walk in the door, down the hallways of other classrooms, grab your child, and leave the center, without ever being seen or stopped. What a warm and fuzzy feeling.
