But the teachings itself was great. The kickboxing class and jiu jitsu class only had a handful of students on your average weekday. I learned a lot in those two hours and have a whole new appreciation for those who practice this sport. My neck was so sore the next day. Special thanks to the guy that was my kick boxing partner and the guy that slammed me to the floor and put me in that neck submission for bjj.... all really eye opening. Everyone was nice and welcoming. If you do decide to join, they have the 3, 6, 12 month options. You'll be paying the most if you go with three months, about $180 per month. Plus the initiation fee which is pricey. This is also Not factoring additional equipments you may need. If you're financially able to, I think it's worth the investment if you're looking for a new hobby or looking to try something new.

That it can even "reverse" the aging process! Now I know it's true! I take both Tai Chi and Kung Fu, as Sifu Lou teaches them back-to-back. I have learned that Tai Chi is the foundation of Kung Fu, so I refer to them both as my Chi classes. And I credit them - and Sifu Lou's instruction - with my continued rejuvenation. I started these classes back in the summer and I am now committed to them. I'm not saying that I am now pain-free and have been returned to the flower of youth. I'm saying that I'm on my way. Despite my age, I still think of myself as a "boy," but this boy has extensive and painful arthritis. What I have gained since I started classes is increased flexibility and more energy. And no, I have no illusion that I'll become 20 again!... But I'm learning to manage my body's age so that I'll essentially be a very young sexagenarian. My spirit is already there! With my chi classes, my body is catching up to my spirit. I've long had the goal of hitting triple digits before I leave this Earth. Sifu Lou and Tai Chi are helping me to get there!! He is very experienced and knowledgeable about Wing Chun Kung Fu and many aspects of Chinese culture. He teaches the kids not only the skills but also about the health benefits of doing kung fu. He also teaches them about self discipline, self confidence, self respect, and respect for their parents, teachers, instructors, and fellow classmates and more. He maintains control of the class which could be difficult especially with younger students, however, he is quite masterful at managing the class. I used to sit and watch class in amazement at how he handles any disruptions or challenges. I learned a few parenting tips from him as well. The classes are typically a mix of conditioning and skills with games at times. He would have special classes with a party at the end and games for holidays and traditions like Christmas and Halloween where he'd also give the kids a goody bag. That was such a nice thing to do and kudos to his Wife as well for her part w/ the goody bags. My boys really enjoyed the classes and looked forward to going.
