I had the unfortunate experience of dealing with the Chan Law Firm recently, and I must say that it was an absolute nightmare. I hired them for legal representation and paid a hefty $13,000 retainer, expecting professional services and open communication. However, what I received was nothing short of a complete disappointment. From the very beginning, it was clear that the Chan Law Firm lacked professionalism. After paying the retainer, they suddenly ceased all communication with me. My attempts to reach out via phone calls and emails were met with silence. It was incredibly frustrating, as I was left in the dark about the progress of my case. This lack of communication was not only unhelpful but also disrespectful to a paying client. In my desperation for answers, I decided to call the firm and request a refund due to their negligence and unresponsiveness. To my disbelief, the representative I spoke with was incredibly rude and unprofessional. Instead of addressing my concerns, they yelled over me, displaying a complete lack of respect. Eventually, the representative abruptly hung up on me, demonstrating a complete disregard for resolving my issues. The Chan Law Firm's behavior is not only unprofessional but also unethical. It is unacceptable for a law firm to take a substantial retainer from a client and then disappear without explanation or updates. The fact that they failed to provide the services they were paid for is a clear sign of their incompetence and lack of integrity. I strongly advise anyone seeking legal representation to steer clear of the Chan Law Firm. Their lack of professionalism, communication, and respect for clients is deplorable. this is the worst law firm ever. the older gentleman was very rude and would not help me. i am not sure where all these positive reviews are coming from. stay away from this law firm and esspecially the older guy. but they sure love to take your money upfront. i am now with another law firm getting my case taken care of. this law firm told me they could not help me. there is definitely something sketchy with this law firm. people please don't let your guard down. thank you ! read more

Extremely bad experience. They were working on a K-1 Visa application (form I-129F) for us, which we have worked on several months before by ourselves, so it only required their review and some small details; in their contract, they promised to put together a good package, including some forms and evidence (photos, chats, documents, affidavits). But THEY FAILED and it was a disappointment to find a package sent WITHOUT OUR APPROVAL and with SEVERAL MISTAKES. Very bad communication since the start, they did not respond to our emails for two weeks. There was no correction or advice about the evidence that we needed for our case (photos and chats). They tried to rush the process and sent a package (I-129F petition for alien fiance) with duplicate pages, documents without reviews, errors highlighted in red, no organization or titles, and zero attention to detail. And most importantly they did not let us review the final product and they sent it. After two months of their "work", the result was a low-quality product, we let them know our complaints, which were not heard, and none of them were resolved despite talking to the owner of the firm, Catherine. Two days later after trying to contact them through social media, we received an email with the title "Termination of Attorney/Client relationship" based on nothing. We are still waiting for them to return us the fee form (that they don't have any right to keep) and a part of their fee (based on the contract). I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS FIRM AT ALL. read more

This law firm dumped our cases because they were incapable of absorbing a shred of merited criticism. Our immigration process was highly compromised, for no other reason than the paralegal couldn't remember our names and relationships, didn't request the accurate ppwk from the firm our cases were adopted from, couldn't accurately fill out USCIS ppwk, and couldn't take any criticism when their incompetence was called out. I really only hope this doesn't happen to any other clients, because that would be a shame. read more

My wife and I have been attempting to help an incredibly nice young lady from Ukraine. Her name is Hanna, and she is a hard-working and extremely nice person. Hanna was facing an uphill battle to extend the duration of her residence in the United States. I had accompanied her to the U.S. Immigration Office for an interview to remove the conditions of her residence and extend the time limit of her Green Card. I was not allowed to be present in the room for her interview, but after an hour had passed, she came out of the interview in a rather shaken state. She was told that she would eventually receive a letter with a decision on whether she would be able to remain in the United states. Several weeks passed, and the letter eventually arrived. The Immigration Office turned down her request to extend her time in the United States. Their explanation contained many false accusations about Hanna, and I knew that she would have to hire a law firm in order to fight the decision of the U.S. Immigration Office. I immediately began looking for an attorney to help Hanna with her fight to remain in the United States. After doing some research to find a great law firm, I decided to contact the Chan Law Firm. This was one of the best decisions I have ever made in my life. From day one the Chan Law Firm was supportive, helpful, empathetic, and extremely compassionate and friendly.
