The surgery is cosy and welcoming and the staff are, without exception, courteous and friendly. I've been terrified of dentists all my life but Dr Skvarka and Dr Strapec have changed my mind...I would (and do) recommend them to everyone (and my previous dentist was a suitably expensive Redland-based dentist who missed problems with my teeth and had an appalling chair-side manner).

Obviously, I was quite worried so really wanted an appointment straight away in case it was anything serious (I didn't want to leave it too long). Gave Cwmbran Dental Care a call to organise an appointment and they had something available for me not 3 days later. ~ Receptionist: I dealt with Judith over the phone and she was an absolute star. Was very understanding with how worried I was and calmed my nerves. ~ Dentist: My dentist was Ruth and she was the best dentist I've ever dealt with. She was both friendly and no-nonsense, dealing with my lump straight away. Nearly cried with joy when she told me that it was non-cancerous (was muscle fibers). I have a strong gag reflex so it's difficult for me to do x-rays. I let Ruth know this and she was very understanding. The last dentist I went to kept getting annoyed with me when I gagged, even though it was something I obviously couldn't help. On the other hand, Ruth gave me tips on how to breathe properly to try and not gag and she was very encouraging! Another positive was that she was very thorough with her explanations of everything (which muscle my lump is, etc.) For £30 as a new patient including 2 x-rays, the price isn't bad either. Highly worth it for me, to give myself peace of mind as well! I'd recommend Cwmbran Dental Care to anyone!

Henleaze Dental Practice seem to have quite a steady main team which puts them in good stead, who cover all aspects of dental work. I hope for your sake you don't need them for nasty big jobs, but if you do then - they can do them! The real plus point is that they offer evening and weekend appointments and you can park really easily!

My friend recently registered, and after he got over the hilarity of the surgery's name, he explained to me just how surprising the surgery is. On the outside it looks a little run down, in need of some TLC and is also situated underneath a giant tower block of flats. However inside the place is clean, the staff are friendly and it is a safe environment to be in - which feels strange after you have found yourself walking into the crypts of the block of flats. The surgery is also ideally placed for discretion, you can approach the surgery form North Street and get spotted by a number of people, but if you are cunning you can approach from one of the side streets where you will only be spotted by the surgeries token 'hang-about'!

In contrast with other NHS surgeries, its not too difficult to get an appointment to see the doctor, you can either ring up at 8.30 in the morning for an appointment that day (don't leave it any later though or all the appointment slots will have been taken) or you can book for some late afternoon appointments in advance. If you wish to see a particular doctor you may have to wait a couple of weeks for the exact date and time you want but if you are ill, they wil always see you. The receptionists are always really friendly and helpful.

Down the hill from the downs in Stoke Bishop, this dentists is situated in a very residential area…read more- indeed the building they're based in used to be a normal house like the rest in the street. I've been here a couple of times now, for a general check up. Each time the service has been very polite, efficient and friendly. There are two sections - there's a main dentists, and there's also a hygienists. If it's your first time visit, the dentists will probably look you over and send you on to the hygienist to get cleaned up. There's a nice atmosphere in the practice and everything seems very laid back, but they're still highly professional. Healthcare in general is expensive: this guys are no different - I paid the best part of £50 for the session I had. But if you want healthy teeth, you got to pay! And this practice is a good choice for that unavoidable payment.

There are plenty of staff to help you with whatever problem you may have-emergency visits, checkups and informal chats are all part of the service they provide. You can get a same-day appointment or book in advance, but you can also pop in and put yourself on the waiting list. The staff are so friendly and make you feel really comfortable. The only slight nitpick I have is that the reception is at the front of the waiting room, meaning that if you haven't phoned up beforehand everyone waiting knows your business.

Emergencies are handled differently and the centre offers a number of other services like Chlamydia screening, travel advice, blood tests and the like. The doctors are of course incredibly concerned for your health, but sometimes this verges on preaching; I have never been here without being asked, and then subsequently told off for my drink and smoking habits. However, they are consistently effective, treating any problem you may have. I would stress again the importance of booking appointments early to avoid being turned away.
