Hot and ready in minutes. I always order online and pay when I get there. It's simple and efficient. For $50 (incl tip) we are enable to feed our family of 4 + leftovers for work the next day. The depth of Smokey flavor from their woks is delicious. I've had their orange chicken, cashew chicken, lo mein, crab rangoons, veggie rolls and we ALWAYS get the house rice. Chang Jiang is clutch for those nights where idk what to cook or don't feel like cooking-but you don't want fast food or bland fried food. My photo has the addition of sweet/sour sauce and sriracha (from home) on top of the house rice and beef lo mein. Another note, my food is always packaged great! Can't say enough great things about this location on Raymond. Put them in your list of takeout!

Absolutely solid Chinese takeout. Generous portions, and friendly counter service. This location is no-frills, so don't expect to dine in.

Chicken fried rice was really bland, lacked chicken, and mostly consisted of rice. The Mongolian beef was also mostly onions and lettuce.

Average american Chinese food. Like most of the other restaurants with similar names in the Madison area.

I've been in Madison for work for the past 3 weeks and have been to Taste of Sichuan several times…read moreeach week! It's been consistently good, with extremely fast service. The food is mostly Sichuan, with some American Chinese staples as well. It's also a huge space, so you'll never have problem getting a table. They do a lot of takeout business as well. I highly recommend the spicy Sichuan chicken (with tongue-numbing peppercorn), the Chongqing chicken, home style tofu, and spicy green beans. I also brought several colleagues who enjoyed Taste of Sichuan very much, and returned themselves!

The server who took our order was very friendly. I was hesitating about whether to add more dishes, and he honestly told me that what we ordered should be enough. He was right--we couldn't even finish it! The restaurant space is quite large, and most of the customers seemed to be students from the nearby area. The reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 is because the front desk staff had a pretty bad attitude. I called earlier to ask if the restaurant was open, and her responses were impatient, and she even hung up the phone abruptly. That really affected the overall experience. Overall, the food is good and the portions are great, but the customer service at the front desk needs improvement.

It felt like most of the dish was just the noodles, and it was not balanced (ended up not finishing the noodles). Service is very straightforward. You order up front, and they deliver the food to you. After that, you put away your dishes/trash. Very standard noodle shop. Nothing too crazy. We came in at a pretty empty time (near 8pm), so service was not packed. It is a standard restaurant with standard seating options. Standard vibes only.

I appreciated that they had a clear window so you could see them making the handpulled noodles and the prices were fair, especially for state street. We got the braised beef noodle which was wonderful. Rich broth, very tender meat, which could have had thicker pieces, but I was pretty impressed with the flavor of the soup. It might have been that it was a particularly cold day and it just hit, but it worked. The pan fried dumplings were okay. The dough was a little thick and there wasn't any soup in them. Overall, I don't think there is another hand pulled noodle place in Madison, at this price and area, so I would say I'm a fan and it's worth trying.
