Do not go here unless you buy your dress here. My fiancée was treated like dirt because she didn't buy her dress here. She just moved here from Ohio, only to be treated like that. This place is a total joke. Heaven forbid you're not a size 2, you will only have about 5 dresses that you can try on. I made an appointment about a month ahead of time to try on wedding dresses. The store was pretty packed, no observation of social distancing, and I was given a bunch of clips to mark which dresses in the store I wanted to try on. But, only one rack had sizes that I could actually try. Skip this place and go to Roanoke. read more

I had a really good experience at this bridal salon. I went ~2 weeks after Blacksburg homecoming at 10 am on a Saturday and I was the only one there. I was helped by Meredith and Tracy. They were both extremely helpful and knew when to suggest dresses and when to let me pick my own to try on. They also pretty quickly picked up on my style and what I was looking for so they were able to suggest real options I actually liked. They were also not pushy when I said I needed some time to think it over but made sure I had all the information I needed to order the dress I had picked. Even though I went by myself they were really helpful in getting me into the dresses (I get that this is probably not the best part of the job but I really appreciated the help) and didn't make me feel awkward for not having people with me. Basically I really appreciated the help that Meredith and Tracy gave me and they made the experience really great. read more

They almost ruined my $1300 dress through extremely incompetent alterations. I had to hire a second seamstress to fix the mess they made of it and it was probably the most stressful part of my entire wedding planning process. On top of that, they were rude to me throughout the whole process. It's worth going to Roanoke to avoid this place. Roanoke has a David's Bridal and a Patina bridal shop, and Alterations by Lynda does an amazing job with altering wedding dresses. Another bonus - Lynda and the people working at David's Bridal and Patina were extremely nice and helpful. read more

The salon is beautiful, but very overpriced. My daughter found a dress and went for her fitting. On the day of pick up they had several appointments booked for the same time. We were just supposed to be picking up, but the full alterations weren't done. I had spoken to the manager earlier in the week to see if we could make an earlier appointment and at that time she confirmed that it wasn't going to take long because it was just for pick up. We had to wait to be refitted to get the bottom hem completed and the back of the dress taken in a little. The dress was also completely wrinkled so we had to wait for it to be steamed. Yet, this was just supposed to be for pick up. We traveled over an hour three times to get the dress completely done. In the end the alterations were done, but they did a horrible job steaming it. read more

My friend and I went here to look for her wedding gown and the second we walked in it felt very hostile. The women working here barley greeted us. After trying to explain what dress my friend was looking for, she told us to just walk around and look ourselves. While helping my friend fix the train on the dresses she was trying on, the woman "helping" us barely talked to us or gave any input. Maybe it's because we are in our early 20s and look young but we did not feel welcomed or taken seriously. My friend luckily found a beautiful dress in Roanoke. read more

From the moment we walk in my party and I were greeted by great service. The staff was elegant and friendly. Trying on the dresses was fun as well. I loved when they would clip up a larger dress and make it look perfect. Or when my train my laid out perfectly to show off each dress to its fullest. The only thing I didn't like was having all the dresses not separated by style but by designer. I know that is common but still not helpful. If you want an amazing tasteful place to look for your wedding gown I would go here. This is where I found the dress of my dreams! read more

This is the best bridal store I've ever been to! I was looking for my wedding dress and wasn't finding anything, Blair pulled something she thought would look good on me and it so did! We ordered it that day! Long story short we became in a time crunch and I had to get alterations done more than I expected. They were able to get them done in less than 24hours. I've shopped at Chantilly Lace for many years and have purchased the most beautiful prom gowns. The staff is wonderfully helpful and very knowledgeable. My alternations experiences have been priceless. The seamstress has over 30 years of experience not to mention a degree in design. She is a wonderful woman who does what she can to make your dress look the best on you, something I can't say about the chain stores and Roanoke stores nearby. read more

Very disappointed in my one and only experience with Chantilly Lace in Blacksburg, VA. My daughter picked out several dresses to try on, which was hard, because if you are not a size 6 or 8, you are out of luck in having a selection to choose from. Then when my daughter got into the dressing room, it was pretty much her and I on our own. When you make an appointment for bridal gown shopping, I expect to have a consultant assigned to you and to have their help. Not! We left after being there for 15 minutes. I had an appointment scheduled ahead of time and even talked with a lady via email about a couple specific gowns I wanted to try on. While those were pulled for me when I arrived, the lady who greeted me looked and acted confused when I told her I had an appointment at that time. She tried to explain where my dressing room would be but did not take me back there at all. When I went to where she said, it was full of maybe 8 - 10 other dresses and a couple purses, so I went back out to confirm I heard her correctly. She said yes and eventually went back to check on it. Another bride was in the adjacent room, and they were using my room to store their unwanted dresses and extra bags. The employee was not helpful in helping finding other gowns to try on, so I eventually went back to the dressing room. I stood in the room for a couple minutes because I wasn't quite sure what to do. The last salon I went to, the employee assisted in putting the gowns on and explaining about each one. An older lady noticed I was standing there and asked if I needed any help, so I told her I wasn't sure. I was ready to try on and wasn't sure what to do. Her response: Just pull the dresses over your head. You can step in them, but pulling over is usually easier... then she left. Putting a wedding gown on by yourself = NOT EASY, especially when you have to try to zipper, button, or corset tie the back! I was at the salon with my dad and younger siblings (the girls are in middle school and can't be expected to know how to help put on a gown). After trying on a couple, both ladies continued to be unresponsive to my clearly confused look and uneasiness about what was going on, but seemed to focus much much more on the other bride, who was also looking at bridesmaids dresses. She, however, had a couple older girls there and mom (assuming that's who it was) to help. They were smiling and assisting her but basically ignored me. It was completely disrespectful and unprofessional. One dress I tried on, I had tried on the previous weekend at a different store. For whatever reason, it did not fit or look the same, and I mentioned this to them because I was confused by it. Both ladies seemed appalled that I was saying such and kept asking if I was sure it was the same designer and style, which I was 100%. I wasn't saying it to bash them, just to let them know because I couldn't figure out why it was different. I would NOT recommend anyone to come here. I felt horrible after my appointment and did not feel like I was appreciate in the least bit. They had a decent amount of dresses to try on, but only a few designers, and you better be prepared to dress yourself or have someone who can help you with it!! I went in to look at tuxedos for my wedding. I am renting tuxedos from another shop because the wedding and grooms men are all in another state. Chantilly has the same supplier of tuxedos as the other shop so I thought I would try to see the tuxedos for myself since I won't be back in the state until the wedding. I explained this to the lady and she immediately ignored me walked over the book which I was looking through, closed it and gave it to another guy who was looking for a tuxedo. She then walked away without saying anything. I understand giving priority to the paying customer, but she was just rude. The guy she gave the book to even offered it back and said sorry. It was a 45 minute drive for me to go there to just look at tuxedos and I left immediately as it was obvious that I was a nuisance to the girl. I would suggest Garret and Meg's in Radford, they were very helpful and nice even though I wouldn't be purchasing my Tux from them. read more
